Dear Friends:
I trust this finds you well and you and your families had a happy holiday. As I prepare to begin my tenure as your chairman, I would like to tell each of you how excited I am about the next two years. I truly appreciate all of your support and I am looking forward to working with you. I want to thank John Murray for the leadership and dedication he has given our party during his chairmanship. I look forward to building on the foundation he has laid and I am pleased I will have John�s council as First Vice Chair.
The past few months have been very exciting for our party nationally. We, unfortunately, have not seen this success locally - YET. If we stay true to the fundamental principles of our party I am convinced we can bring this success home to Habersham County. I believe it is imperative we acknowledge that no matter what issues we may have conflict over there is far more that joins us. We are the party of inclusion. We are a big tent and there is room for everyone.
As Tip O�Neil once said, �all politics are local.� Our state and national party�s success is dependent on what we can accomplish in Habersham as well as every county across our nation. There can be no success if we do not work together. I am confidant we will work together and we will be successful. We will bring victory home in 2008! Together we will make a stronger Habersham, a stronger Georgia, and a stronger America for future generations!
In closing, I want to remind you one of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. (Plato) My new year�s wish for all of us is we are governed by our equals!
