The bipartisan resolution re Levin was signed by Bush. Don't anyone dare jump on a jet home without taking care of business at hand. US Autoworkers should not have to cancel their Thanksgiving Dinners while others are on break carving their expensive goose. What can I say, being a Senator calls for those kind of hours.

We can't solve the economy right now, but we can help keep people working; that should be the most important of objectives. Financials are buying back most of their own stocks, and doing so with borrowed money from the Gov., the dividends, if there are any, will be on borrowed money, what there is will go to the shareholder, but the shareholders are who? Who gets a dividend if there is one, the company, where does it goe from there? Listen, the stock market and the financials are quickly being owned by the govt via the TARPs. There is no market and we are in this for the long haul, layoffs will be catastrophic by March, even without the Auto layoffs. The key to our economy is to keep as many people working for as long as possible until the market is healed. But it cannot be healed on the backs of American Workers. I salute Levin for doing what may not have been popular to others but crucial to the livelihood of his constituents.
