A Plea for Compassion

Okay, folks, things keep getting nastier and nastier. Many Clinton supporters are getting more shrill, and many Obama supporters are becoming insufferably boastful.

Obama supporters-- I know you think your guy has the nomination in the bag. If so, congratulations. Don't keep rubbing salt in the wounds of some very dedicated voters for the Democratic party. If not, try to remember that it ain't over until someone concedes, or the convention happens. Build the party!

Clinton supporters-- I know the other side can get obnoxious in their crowing. Don't let it get to you! You support an amazing candidate. Please remember that there are many folks out there who think both candidates are good choices-- don't blast them for not supporting Clinton, or worse, for not bashing Obama.

Peace, and Democrats in 08!!!!

um, I don't know you. I actually am not an Obama supporter. I was an Edwards man, but put my back to the wall, I chose Hillary. I MUST say, however, neither Clinton nor Obama is as bad a choice as McCain...

That was a reply that really speaks well. I wish we could see more of it but the other side won't let us so they beat us when we are down with relish so there's no other option than to jump back up and defend yourself!

Thank you for your post.

Hey, RA, glad to see you.

Hence the plea for Obama folks to show a little compassion-- many are calling for it. There are some, though, who are a real disservice to their candidate...

Not just some, there are quite a few!

...retired army - that goes both ways.
I think it depends on which candidate of the day is attacked first, and then the fight is on.

Not really. The actions of many of the Obama supporters have warranted good old military discipline.

Just wondering, How do you feel about the man you originally backed endorsing the person running against the on you are backing now? I'm not trying to be nasty or start a fight, I really want to know. To me, it seems kind of Ironic.

It broke my heart as I voted for him in the primary. He told us he would stay out of it and I belkieved him. I will no longer believe any of them ever again. I would like to know what it cost to bring an admirable candidate to this low!

I listened to Nadar's speech on C-Span this last hour or so. He made some really good points. The one for you, me and everyone else is that he said that we have lost our power to negotiate with our candidates because they have so much corporate power behind them. We knew that. I have been here battling to free people's minds to see that we do not have to settle. This particular voting season, we have more power than ever. As Nancy R. used to repeat, "Just say, No!"

That is what I am doing. I am giving Hillary Clinton the last and final solution: Get This Party out of the Dog house. She is the only one who can negotiate for us and still recall her own roots. Her member is astounding. She is culpable. We know who is not. And, we must raise every eyebrow, every flag, every voice to the attention. The Reality is that if the Parties are so inclined to their old ways, they are not going to last too many decades.

My generation had no other choice. The next generation will have choice. They will have technologies and information to allow them to force more decisions. We are the ones who can give that to them if we take the stand here and now until Denver, then Novermber.

He said he would stay out of it until the race was over; and it IS over. He kept his word; but it will be awhile before some folk realize that.

I was a little surprised, I guess, based on his pet issues. But I LONG ago decided that I didn't really care WHO got the nomination-- Obama or Clinton. Neither was my first choice, and still aren't. I just want a Democratic president.

I'm an Obama supporter who lives with.... 3 for Obama (son, daughter, and me) and... 2 for Hillary (wife and other son).

It's been pretty calm here because we're all 1000% Democrat before anything else. We all agreed either one of them would be a great president and it's worked out well.

The thing that has helped the most is we don't watch the news except for local news. No spin there :)

As Democrats we share more values in common with eachother than we do with John McCain or the GOP

There is too much at stake in tis election to let hard feelings divide our party.

This is a great post Ix, keep up the good work!

Very cool. But then, you speak for millions and millions (+ 11!)...

Here's the rub:

When you point out that Senator Obama is not electable; you get called a "racist".......fine with me; i've been called worse...........does anyone in the Senator Obama group of supporters actually think that calling me a rasist is going to: a) hurt my feelings?
b) encourage me to change my support from Senator Clinton?
c) make Senator Obama even remotely qualified?

I don't remotely care what anyone thinks of me......i do care who becomes the next president..............if the party nominates Senator Obama than the Democratic Party Leaders do not want to win the white house and the responsibility of running the country.

So give to McCain if you think he's a more viable option.

Thanks Andy. When an Obama supporter said, "F*** Veterans. They can leave my country", I thought to myself. Okay, he is Native American and so am I. I am a Veteran and he gets to go to college. Not many people I know can afford that these days. Wow.

Let us presume that the Europeans had never landed on the Plymouth Rock like my own Mayflower ancestor. Let us assume that England did not really occupy China for some time. Let us assume that my Cherokee ancestors were still living in their mud lodges. Let us assume they never saw a gun.

Now, going back, the Chinese invented fire powder. How long would it take them to design a gun? They discovered the South Pole of a compass. How long would it have take for them to discover the North Polarity? They had done trade with my Ilocano Ancestors for thousands of years. The Arabs and Indians also had been crossing the China see to trade with them.

Hum, the Chinese have been around for five to six thousand years. The Japanese had been learning a lot from their trade routes. How long would it take for the Japanese to discover the northern boundaries of the coastlines heading to Alaska?

My ancestors were known as fierce head hunters among head hunters. There is an ancient persian sanskrit legend about a warrior with my ancestral name.

How long did the Native Americans need roaming around on their horses before the Chinese and Japanese invaded their culture?

BTW, and this is after the fact, it is cruel to creat the sock puppet group, and equally as cruel to join it.

Why post this, if you perpetuate what you claim to stand against?

Once again, I have NO idea what you are talking about.... How does joining a group that a friend started have anything to do with this post?
