Next major Meltdown about to happen -Much bigger than Wall Street.

Approximately 80% of the Commercial trucks in the Trucking industry transporting consumer goods are owned my middle class Independent Owner Operators, trying to make a living to support their families. Unfortunately they end up feeding other American families while their families starve. The bottom is about to fall out. Drivers will shutdown their trucks, stop delivering food, and hope that there are enough Palin's and McCain's around to fix this problem, since Pailin and McCain themselves feel Obama is not focused on our economic crisis, lowering taxes, and imposing government regulation as necessary for the good of all.
Here's a Financial worksheet to glean into the lives of American truckers who go broke every living day as they try to feed their families and all Americans. God Bless America. We hope and pray for a better day.
BTW -The last thing truckers want are Mavericks running America. A Maverick in the trucker world is an inexperienced and reckless driver breaking all rules to turn more miles and make more money. They have no regard for the safety of the general public. Their only focus are on themselves. Then one day they finally grow up to be 72 years of age and realize that they need to be Executive commander and Chief of the largest trucking organization. The only way they know how to gain control is by hostile takeover and smear campaigns.

Some shippers pay on time, some pay slow, some don't pay at all. For the ones that don't pay, driver have a hard time collecting. And they can't afford to pay collection agencies fees.

Truck Owner owes Company Driver. Both have starving families at home and utilities being cut off, and collectors calling, houses being foreclosed, and cars being repossessed.
So as an O/O you hope and pray next week will bring better miles, and if you have a driver driving your truck, that the driver will be with you next week, and that he doesn't abandon your truck 2500 miles away from home, while he catches Greyhound back home.
There are other variable expenses (non reimbursable): showers, meals, personal maintenance, etc. , not taken into account. Why bother? You see see the negative revenue picture.
CONCLUSION
What happens when you are thousands of miles away delivering food to Americans, and something catastrophic happens in your immediate family, such as a spouse of kid dies? How does that trucker get home immediately, when there aren't any savings (security/emergency), because he's operating a business at a loss? He certainly can't afford to fly back home immediately.
Where is government intervention and regulation to ensure shippers are paying rates that can afford the Independent Owner Operator in the trucking industry to operate profitable, grow, create employment for others and at the same time save, and get back home in cases of emergencies?
It's time to stop the wheels from turning, until the Independent Owner Operates receive a bailout package. Strike!!!
Our only hope is that Senator Obama becomes the next US President because he gets it, Senator McCain and his cheerleader running mate doesn't. Its that simple.
We are committed commercial truck drivers serving a noble cause, and to be insulted and compared to Six Pack Joes and Soccer Moms, as though their votes are the only ones that count at all in winning an election is down right outrageous, despicable and ludicrous.
