The few times I was able to check the site out today I didn't see anyone all over the TN republican party for their ad against Michelle Obama. I did view it early this morning but in getting the URL to post here, I see they have added a new post. This may very well become a long hot summer indeed.

TN Republican site

I am a proud supporter of the Honorable Senator, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I'm a native Tennessean. I can tell you that the Tennessee GOP is ruthless. They are painting Obama as an extreme liberal. I think their strategy is a scaled-down version of what will happen nationally.

Also, African American politicians do not typically fare well there. Harold Ford, Junior is a fine man and a good politician. He get screwed over in his home state by southern politics. I hate to say it but there are is still rampant racism in my home state.
Yup...

but they are ruthless everywhere.

here is an anti-Michelle ad

Lord, it is too bad. The DNC really had better get it's head screwed on straight, I will be so pissed if McCain wins.

Just like in other states where they tried this crap it will backfire. My opinion is the candidates spouse is off limits for both sides!

Wow
By pcmoore28 May 16th 2008 at 7:56 pm EDT
In the link to the Guardian, the following statement was found:

In Wisconsin, I asked her if she was offended by Bill Clinton's use of the phrase 'fairytale' to describe her husband's characterisation of his position on the Iraq war. At first, Obama responded with a curt 'No'. But, after a few seconds, she affected a funny voice. 'I want to rip his eyes out!' she said, clawing at the air with her fingernails. One of her advisers gave her a nervous look. 'Kidding!' Obama said. 'See, this is what gets me into trouble.'

Wow, I'm sorry I just cannot see her as America's, first lady. I have noticed her temper several times. I have never been so upset at any election before. It is going to be bad.

If Obama is the nominee, I highly encourage his campaign to keep Michelle out of the limelight.

Strong women always have a "temper" according to some people. Hillary used to be labeled like this too in the 90's because she'd tell someone to f$%# off in a heartbeat. It's just telling it like it is, saying what's on your mind and not giving a damn what anyone thinks. I for one am all for it!
Re: Wow
By pcmoore28 May 16th 2008 at 10:43 pm EDT
True but remember that Teresa Heinz was that way too....she pretty much told a reporter to f off....and she was picked on all the time by the press....

Obama needs to be careful....he is going to have enough coming at him....we do not Michelle as added distraction.
Re: Wow
By illinoismel May 16th 2008 at 11:02 pm EDT
I have heard many comments about how some will not vote for Obama because of her; many people felt that way about Kerry's wife
Re: Wow
By jenniforhillary May 16th 2008 at 11:36 pm EDT
but in NOBAMA's case we feel even more sickened by HIM....the double whammy. Two assholes and the third strike is that Hillary is by far the best candidate!! They are OUTA HERE FOLKS>>>>>

Please don't compare Michelle Obama to Hillary Clinton. EVER. Don't do it.

Michelle Obama is a walking piece of human filth. She wrote her honors senior thesis on why blacks and whites should never live together because white people will always want to dominate black people. Interestingly enough, she was a Republican but they both went Democrat when they realized what it could get them. After the book came out, they bought an exclusive home in an almost ALL WHITE NEIGHBORHOOD. Oh, and I went to law school in Chicago so I know all about Trinity Church. All it is a hate filled hypocritical front for Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam....

Michelle Obama deserves to be torn limb from limb by the media, as does her husband. Let us pray that the Democratic Party is not stupid enough to put them forward AGAINST the wishes of the MAJORITY of DEMOCRATIC VOTERS who voted for Hillary Clinton....

Hillary Clinton has always been proud of this Country, she has been angry about evil politicians. So, I agree do not put her in the same box as Michelle, Michelle has color issues.

Michelle actually does remind me of a younger Hillary in support of her husband running for president. I was a part of that campaign as a democrat.

Remember this
By Sue Sue's Straight Talk Express May 16th 2008 at 8:34 pm EDT
I don't know if you all remember that in 1992 they had to pull Hillary back on the campaign trail. Women were dogging her because she was a working mother. Remember there was this big fight about stay at home mothers (Barbara Bush) and working moms. It was awful how they villified her for working.

I DON'T LIKE TO SEE A PERSON TARGETED, BUT OTHER AMERICANS EXPRESSING PATRIOTISM IS NOTHING EITHER WAY TO MICHELLE. I SAW IT ON HUFF POST. I DID NOT HEAR IT TN! WE ARE NOT PLOTTING AGAINST MICHELLE IN TN, BUT A LOT OF US ARE IN LOVE WITH HILLARY!

I RESPECT SCIBLUE
By SPIRITED DONA May 16th 2008 at 9:16 pm EDT
BUT I BEG TO DIFFER. I LIVE IN HAROLD FORD'S DISTRICT AND IT WAS WHITE PEOPLE WHO MET HIM EVERY EARLY MORNING. SHE AND I AGREE ON TN REPUBS. THEY HIRED A CHICK TO SAY "CALL ME HAROLD, WE MET AT THE PLAYBOY MANSION". A WHITE MAN WITH 11 SUV'S WON. I WANT TO PUKE! HAROLD HAS REPEATEDLY TOLD PEOPLE THAT RACISM WAS NOT THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE. HE IS A GOOD, DIRECT MAN! THANK YOU!

Yes, I thought Ford seemed more than apt for the job. Based on how I read the tea leaves he may have a good job in the Obama administration.

And on the Michelle smear fro the GOP/neocons, I'm not sure they want to go there, several folks may want to drill deeper about McBush's "bimbo" (sorry, not my word) wife's background...and the circumstances surrounding his separation from his loving family by marriage.

Yes, I respect Clinton but have lost a lot of respect for Bill for sure.
Re: I RESPECT SCIBLUE
By pcmoore28 May 16th 2008 at 10:46 pm EDT
Are you referring to Cindy being the reason his first marriage fell apart? If we look at the big picture, everyone has a dark side in their lives....I sure hate it when it gets personal.....If democrats stick to the issues, McCain will lose.

Dona I have been out of the loop in Tennessee politics for awhile. Thanks for setting me straight about Harold Ford. :)

For all the comments

Michelle is very scary indeed..
The DNC has give the RNC a lot to work with ..
Obama know-nothing and Michelle's hatful attitude towards America plus the many horrible people that Obama is friends or associated with...
Some to help bolster him in his political career but to use those kind paints a really horrible picture....

I am trying to keep up to date here, with working 16 hrs+ in KY until Wednesday. This website was experiencing problems the other day but they appear to be fixed now. If anyone knows why please let me know. illinoismel, hope you got your package today.

Terry, no package today, but maybe I will get it tommorrow. The mail must be having a problem because I sent one to Texas on Monday and he didn't get it either. Must be the increase in postage has slowed them all down. More money for less, but love the postal workers, they are rain, snow, shine people.

they have a point
By ihaveavoice May 16th 2008 at 11:32 pm EDT
well you gotta admit he does throw a temper tantrum every other day but his campaign is the first to use poorly spoken words and twist them into racism many times this primary against members of his OWN party. But when he misspeaks or his aides call Clinton a monster he shrugs it off and says oh well its politics and then whines to Kennedy or someone to make a less then flattering statement about Clinton to the papers to take the spotlight off his mistakes.

I think Obama is in for a rude awkening the republicans will laugh at his apology demands and temper tantrums. Heck I DO.

A large credibility gap
By Pale Rider May 18th 2008 at 1:11 am EDT
exists in their argument that their ad was "a light-hearted jab". You don't pay millions of dollars to air a light-hearted jab. You let those fly at press conferences, where it didn't cost you anything to get an extra poke at the opponent.
Re: A large credibility gap
By Pale Rider May 18th 2008 at 1:15 am EDT
That is very much like a D.A. prejudicing a jury with a question, or accusation, then retracting his remark. The jury has had the seed planted already. you can't unplant it.
