When I first checked this site out, I was really pessimistic. Up until this point, it seemed like whenever a party or candidate tries to leverage the power of the Internet, they completely miss the big picture. Rather than trying to use the Internet for what it is good for: distributing information quickly and making connections between people, they instead try to slap it together with the same old concepts. I was at a conference one time where I was talking with someone afterwards about how excited I was to be able to use all of the advantages of modern technology to add to my campaign, and they said "yeah, but isn't it risky to internet your fundraising?" Besides being grammatically incorrect, the very concept there bothered me - that the Internet is just a modifier which can be stuck in front of any traditional task to make it hip, modern, cool, faster, or whatever other attribute you're looking for. Web sites can be great tools, but they're a whole new paradigm in politics, not just another means of doing what we've always done, and I'm excited to see that the Democratic Party has realized this!

As soon as we can remove Senator Ted "The Tubes" Stevenson (R)Alaska from the Chairmanship role on the Committee the handles the Net neutrality issues, were fighting an Ignorance of epic proportions. I saw on C-Span some of the Sunlight Foundation agrument for instant access to House and Senate Speeches in real time. It's time.
