Conservatives are criticizing the stage construction on Iverson Field set up for Barack Obama's presidential nomination appointment. Commentator Rush Limbaugh is calling it "Greek a temple" in reference to what conservatives call Obama's Godlike ascension within the party's ranks.

To me, it calls to mind the speech delivered by conservative President Ronald Reagan before the Berlin wall in which he famously urged Russia's communist leader Mikhail Gorbachev to "tear down this wall." True: Reagan didn't build the Berlin wall but he or his handlers chose the photo-op location.

Image is everything.

It is a common historical theme.

If you ever go to Washington DC you will see many of those pillars. It is always seen in political campaigns. It refers to Greece and the birth place of democracy. If that's the best they've got, I feel bad for them.

Image is very powerful

It's HMMMMM, HMMMM GOOD!

I can hear Alicia Keys singing, "No one, no one, no one, can get in the way of what I'm feeling!"

I wish I was there. This about showing the supporters that this is about you, your campaign.
We have worked hard.

that is true; we have worked hard......but how do you think the lady with the minimum wage job who has cancer feels? You know the one with the little boy that Senator Clinton spoke of?

Maybe she doesn't have milk for her sons cereal in the morning but we've had one hell of a party because "we've worked hard".

Do you know how many people we could have given health insurance to for a year with the 17 million dollars in matching federal funds alone?

I thought that health care was one of our big issues?

The folks that are facing the loss of their homes because their jobs were oursourced and they no longer have an income....bet you they could have used a dollar or two............

you have not been listening. That mom gave $10.00 to Baracks campaign as a statement of faith.
That person facing foreclosure and loss of their job voluteered their time to the effort.

that does not get them health insurance now, food on the table now, gas in their car now....it doesn't begin to address their immediate needs now, today, this minute.

I in the Social Services field and I see these types of things daily....daily and we offer limited help due to budget cuts and program restrictions.....so that our government can afford to pay for things like this........

have a good party.

no, i'm talking about former employees of Eastman Kodak here in Western New York who have lost their jobs and health insurance and then get rehired back at Kodak thru a temporary agency at half of what they were making before and with no health insurance......got to show a higher profit to our stock holders..............

I'm talking about the line workers retired from Delco and will lose their health insurance benefits come January 2009.

I'm talking about Erie County in Western New York that is currently being operated by The State of New YOrk because the county is pretty much bankrupt as a result of their tax base being eroded to the point where the county no longer has the ability to raise enough income to pay their expenses.........the majority of New York State outside of New York City is actually Republican and Senator McCain is very popular North of New York City......
