I, TOO, AM A PERSON OF FAITH... I have faith that we, as Americans, will find our voice and fulfill our obligation as citizens to resist and render impotent the propagandizing and fear-mongering of those in the government and in the church who claim to have a monopoly on "faith".

I have faith that self-reliance is still an American value -- faith that we are creative, enterprising, and sensible enough to supplant our addiction to foreign oil with an array of domestic, renewable sources of energy

I have faith that most members of religious institutions aspire for their actions in life to reflect the teachings of the prophets and holymen they worship.

I have faith that most Christians, if faced with the decision between saving their grown boy from the death of war and saving their unused, artificially crafted embryo from being researched in a stem cell lab would choose life for the grown boy.

I have faith that honesty, humility, and respect for the "other" -- on the level of the individual or as a nation -- fosters relationships that will make us far safer than the hollow facade of Mr. Bush's post-9/11, postmodern world of good and evil.

I have faith that if we the people take back our media and our government, it will be the terrorists -- both from within and without -- who have indeed lost.
