It's odd to find out, that in my opening blog here on LoLi Blue, that more than 6 years ago, I had a dream after I watched the returns of the 2000 General Election that George W. Bush would win the White House. That dream was a nightmare that became reality.
Fast forward to November 2006, and after seeing so many young lives taken away from a meaningless cause in the Middle East, I get a brief reprieve: the Democratic Party, of which I was born into, and I still support today - for over two decades, I may add - took back Congress, winning the House and the Senate.
With Madame Speaker Pelosi standing firm, I know that our current President, a leader who I feel should be on the battlefield instead of our troops, will stop at nothing to waste billions upon billions of our taxpayers' money to fuel this meaningless cause for the sake of his own placation. His self-serving motives will not be forgiven. I will not forgive him for what he did to deprioritize the education of Generation Y! My generation! Cast it away, will you!?
Well, I'm not going to take it. I support Barack Obama for the presidency, and hope that you will join me in fulfilling Tupac Amaru Shakur's wish of having a black president. And I hope that the direction of the United States will be one the world will be happy about.
No more nightmares, please.
Save that for the pachyderms on Pennsylvania Avenue.
