Vanity Fair editors estimated that McCain's fierce saffron shirt dress with the popped collar, diamond earrings, four-strand pearl necklace, white Chanel watch and strappy shoes that she wore at the RNC last night totaled up to $313,100.

It's a term of art in finance. The word "worth" is meant ONLY within the narrow scope of the accumulation of wealth and not as a human being. Your objection is a pure semantic red herring.
