Post from John Ballard's Blog:
The DNC cuts PartyBuilder group members

A wholesale wipe out has been done to hundreds of PartyBuilder group memberships. I admin a group that has 275 members and now shows only 25. Is this payback from the Obama loyalists? It was wrong for the DNC to do this without warning. This smacks of just what many of us have been putting up with for 7 years from the Republicans. Shame shame shame DNC. You wanted us to grow the party and get involved and then you use this heavy handed Republican style move. Amazing!

It seems...

that Planet Obama does not take well to any form of dissent. The same thing has happened to many Clinton supporter groups. Obama wants us out of the picture just like he wanted his opposition out of the state senate race...

Your very presence belies that assertion.

Did it ever occur to you...
By CaroleB Jun 17th 2008 at 11:42 am EDT
... that they just left? That they may be tired of the bickering and personal slanders that go on here?

I'm not sure that I'd blame the DNC without any proof that they "wiped" the boards.

they deleted members NOT the groups. 250 people in my group no longer show up...I guess if you delete the names that will stop the dissent?
I guess they could try a firing squad. And I bet they have thought of that.

that many people would not leave. i have a possible theory pb may give. many members have zero posts. it was not a condtion for registering. are these missing people on your fiend lists? email them, but put your name in title, i can't see whom my emails are from. go to compose-- have em rejoin.

First of all Facts

How do you know that these people were "cut" as you say?

Obviously from your post, all dissenters have not been cut.

What proof do you have that the people have not simply quit and/or that it is a technical glitch.

What are the names of some of these people.

Until you can be more specific, you post reads like another notice from trollsville.

That's because your posts often violate the terms of service agreement.

The Constitution does not guarantee your right to blog here. It's a privately owned and administered website. As such, it has a terms of service agreement. Anyone who chooses not to abide by that agreement is free to blog anywhere else, but not on this privately owned party website.

when hil and barack were head to head, i wrote what i thought. i treat this site as 60 percent team b, and 40 percent independent or team hil.

WHOA!! HANG ON A MINUTE
By AnneK Jun 17th 2008 at 11:46 am EDT
They cut inactive members from groups. There were tens of thousands of people who signed up once, joined a few groups, read a few posts, and then never participated again.

One of my groups at 80 members. About 60 of those members were inactive. They're gone now, only the 20 or so who are active on PB are still in the group. It's actually not a net loss at all. It will save me a ton of time when i do individual home emails. (Which I do because there are glitches in the listserv)

Annie, my group is a VP group. I send out e-mails we were just heating up. And then the DNC cuts the members who they choose and say are inactive? Just They are not inactive to me, I communicate with them by e-mail (or did). I am threw with this site and the DNC. Are voters inactive because they vote once or twice a year?
Well what the DNC did stinks.

wow
By Kryptonite Jun 17th 2008 at 11:49 am EDT
Way to blame shift.

Like the others said--maybe they left.

Maybe there is sight maintenance going on while you are looking at your group.

Perhaps they were people who never activated there account.

There are a 1001 reasons OTHER than the one you have chose.

Give it time.

Stop with the blame-game please.

kyrpto,i had a happy piece on ethel kennedy "after" barack won the delegates, and it was snubbed. before, my kenedy pices were always well received by both sides. real or imagined, we feel this is less the dem site, than the barack site. 1655 of little dine's friends "ignored" him yesterday, because he asked for help, and his email has bill richardson in it. he is 14! only i answered him!
Re: wow
By Kryptonite Jun 17th 2008 at 12:10 pm EDT
I ignored the email from him. I can never read the damn things because he makes the subject way too long. he puts a ridiculous long link in the subject and makes my little column cut everything off. the only way to return it to normal is to delete his message.

Inactive
By Lincoln Park Dem Jun 17th 2008 at 11:51 am EDT
When people subscribe to groups they have the option to receive all meails from the group. Sometimes when their email boxes are loaded with emails they click 'unsubscribe'. The DNC server has been overloaded. Possib;y they cut all the peole that 'unsubcribed' off per their reqest. Let's not assume anything.

The Light Brigade
By AnneK Jun 17th 2008 at 11:53 am EDT
Is completely full of the people who write post after post after post about how much they hate Obama, and they're still there, and their members are still their members.

If the Light Brigade is safe, then no injustice is afoot here.

They simply removed the inactive members.

I also take issue with the statement about how we hate Obama - you are mistaken.

Good Lord
By Arius Jun 17th 2008 at 1:59 pm EDT
The DNC isn't in the habit of pulling this kind of crap. I wish people would stop seeing conspiracies everywhere. By now, one would think that the fact that this blogging software is hardly the most error-free or sophisticated thing out there would be obvious.

Hmm
By Michael Link Jun 17th 2008 at 2:57 pm EDT
This is the first I've heard about this. I can look at it and see what's happened. Can you send me a private message with a link to your group, and a link to one profile that was removed? It'd make figuring out what happened a million times easier on my end.

Thanks.
