Post from My Awesome Blog:
Republicans aren't racist - they're just misunderstood

So, my very favoritest Op-Ed writer has put a piece up on his blog on the tragically misunderstood racial legacy of the Gipper (so known for his "constant and exuberant gipping", according to a reputable source). And I have to say, I think he's really on to something. After all, not a few other prominent Republicans have made similar statements, even into the present day. And if these weren't just innocent mistakes, what else are we to believe? That for decades one of the two dominant political parties in America has founded its success in large part on racist appeals of remarkable toxicity? Why, David Broder would get the vapors at the mere suggestion of it. No, that's clearly ridiculous.

...Right?

cost them with racist slurs

I am happy to remind everyone that the Republican Senator who made that racial slur against one of his Democratic opponent's assistants lost the race. A lot of people all over the USA sent money to Webb's campaign because of it. I know I did. I figured that anyone would be better than a racist as a Senator. the Gipper was such a piece of work. when I watched his funeral about six years ago and listed to all tributes and heard the moanings I kept thinking to myself: "Man these people don't remember the same man that I do. I remember his first two acts in office: to remove all of Carters solar panels from the white house and to cut the hot lunch programs for needy kids.

I hated Ronald Regan. Everyone in my family hated him and we are under no illusion that he was "misunderstood". We understood him perfectly. He hated Blacks and there was no doubt about it. I don't care who tries to revise History.

I hated that man and will have nothing good to say about him.

Sen. Frist a Repub did it too

that' why he didn't run for president and is rebuilding his image with work in Africa.

He yelled at an audience member a racial slur about laziness and welfare (see CityPaper, Nashville)

Racism is in their hearts...believe me, people know when they're getting ahead by screwing someone, not because of talent.
