I was asked to sign a form yesterday at a specialists office, agreeing to pay charges that the insurance company did not pay.
This is over and above normal copays.
The idea of preferred provider networks and health maintenance networks is that the insurer effectuates an agreement with the provider that certain procedures will be covered at a certain rate, and no more can be charged to the customer.
Our physicians can no longer afford to take insurance payments.
It is time for that paradigm shift. The insurance companies are now out of control.
Tell everyone you can. It's time we formed a union against the problems these money grabbers are causing.
Democratic representatives, ARE YOU LISTENING?

Universal coverage should be this:
You get sick or injured. You go to the doctor. You and your doctor decide upon the best course of treatment. You get the treatment. It gets paid for.
To me, it wouldn't matter if it was single payer, although that would be preferable, as long as it provided true universal care for all.
