As a 49 year old Black man born and raised in America I am not surprised by today's turn of events. I am surprised that many people here refuse to speak what is an obvious truth. Some whites have decided to abandon Obama at the top of the Democratic ticket.

I've heard shock and anger and outrage and puzzlement but not the obvious answer. It has been so since the days of Dukakis. Association with Blacks can cost you the top spot in the land. Notice I am not saying voting against Obama means you are a racist. What I am saying is other than Bill Clinton the country has always selected the presidential candidate that had the agenda that was least pro African American.

Funny thing that has also been the candidate that has ripped the social structure out of this country and handed it to business interest on a silver platter.

There are no issues to get - no policy statements - no points to press other that America thinks that Obama's skin color gave him an advantage. That's not racist - that's just wrong.

They call him uppity because he aspires to the same wealth that they have. The audicity of that man. Only he doesn't want wealth so that he can stay in the Black neighborhood - he wants integrated wealth and an integrated society. Where all can aspire and not just those hand picked and given the old wink and nod to the fast track - like Cindy McCain's father. A convicted felon who somehow got a liquor license even though the felony was liquor related.

Then those people tell you to pull yourself up by your bootstrap while they steal as much as they can. Hypocrites - not much.
Unless you consider that big crowds were bad - until Palin starts and now they are in.

Unless you consider that Obama's record that is to be questioned starts with his father before he was born yet McCain and Palin can't be asked questions on this year.

Fortunately there is a remedy for this. People will vote in there best interests if they can get past skin color. They were waiting for a reason to jump ship. I'm sure no one believes those polls reflect a bunch of African Americans losing faith in Obama because a self called redneck joins the ticket. The remedy is - just wait. The truth comes out when you least expect it. Slaps people around and tells them to suffer in stupidity or rise up and make things better for themselves in their children. All that can be accomplished in one semi intelligent thought -
