To all those fortunate enough to still have their mother and all those fortunate enough to have had a good mother at one time in their life but now she has passed on - I wish you happy mothers day.

I can only tell you that my mother, an African American Woman from Alabama, who put herself through college while raising three kids pretty much on her own, and recieved two degrees, and all her children have two degrees would have been so proud of both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama if she was still here.

She was a life long democrat who understood politics very well. She made me what I am today - a guy who leads with his heart first and hopes that it doesn't get his butt in trouble. More than anything she promoted opportunity. Given the opportunity she told us the work would be secondary because there was nothing we couldn't do.

Her favorite saying - If something needs doing - make yourself a committee of one and get it done. Others will join you every time.

With that I salute all the mothers I have met on this board. Anne - Mgck - Barb and others who have had the challenge of raising children - our country can never repay the our debt to you. Mothers are the rock of the world.

If there is one holiday that needs to be doubled or tripled it's Mothers day.

I am all for Mother's Day
By Darlene (DEC) May 9th 2008 at 3:17 pm EDT
every 4th Sunday. With 3 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren and my daycare I am pretty busy. On Sunday I am going out for supper with my mom. Just the two of us. Italian food and cute male waiter. ;-)

Thanks Karstar

I am trying to talk my wife into at least an Olive Garden day - she is so unselfish - she says all she wants is sleep.

I will probably just pick her up something and take the twins and the other two out for a drive.

I have to say, you are a rare person. And I mean that as a compliment in every sense. I am glad I have gotten to talk with you more of late. Your mom sounds like an amazing lady. And I am sure you wife will appreciate anything you do for her.
