From my facebook friend Greg Goldsborough 5-9-08. Go, Hillary, go!

i was on a conference call with president clinton last night. he spelled out in clear terms the popular vote is in our reach. if we win the popular vote, we have a strong case for the nomination. where have we been?

After hillary won pennsylvania, she was 10 points behind in indiana and 25 behind in north carolina. we knew she had to win indiana. not only did she win there, but did so despite bring outspent 4:1 in that state and obama's "next door" chicago media market advantage. hillary's indiana win is historic and it is not getting the coverage it deserves from the pro-obama press. it was an amazing win!

Where are we now? we have strong leads in west virginia (latest polls have us up 39 points), kentucky (where we have a 35 point lead), and puerto rico (over 4 million voters with strong latino support for hillary). we expect to be very competitive in oregon, south dakota, and montana. and the dnc is meeting this month to include the certified votes in florida and michigan.

After pennsylvania, we knew hillary could win the popular vote and the nomination. none of that has changed. we are still in a strong position to win this

Now we need you and all of our best supporters out there talking up hillary, building support, and raising much needed funds to win this. this campaign is in your hands and with your help we will win this.

LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN! SHOW YOUR SUPPORT - TEN BUCKS FOR HILLARY! https://contribute.hillaryclinton.com/form.html?sc=ac0&rc=bg

Yea, the only problem is...
By VTDem May 9th 2008 at 1:41 pm EDT
That's great, fantastic!

The only problem with that is it's the delegate count silly! Popular vote doesn't matter.

This race has been over since Tuesday night. What she's doing now is ruining her legacy and if she doesn't have a problem with that neither do I :)

OBAMA 08!!!

No Silly, in the Rule Book, every delegate can change his or her vote. For instance, I read that Obama wants 49 of the MI delegates for himself and give 59 to Clinton so that she nets nothing but a piss in the pot.

Well, guess what, MI Delegates can Change their votes at the Convention!

It is not over until it is over.

No, that 49-59 split was proposed by the Michigan democratic party, not Obama'a campaign.

I know you still have hope
By Maggie B. May 9th 2008 at 1:41 pm EDT
but those numbers will never hold up. These races are going to be a lot closer than analyst want to admit.

I agree with Maggie. Polls are meaningless.

Let's get 2024.5+ for Hillary
By Mike W May 9th 2008 at 1:41 pm EDT
I'm willing to not win the "popular vote" and just get 2024.5+ for Hillary!

After seating both FL and MI, that number will then likely be 2209+!

She would need about 229 of last 258 undeclared supers....look at recent trend...Obama will need about 71...

+158 total delegates
By MICHAEL on The Beach May 9th 2008 at 1:42 pm EDT
Obama is +158 total delegates & Easter he was +142...Hillary is not denting his lead & now the field is way too short. Obama is about 171 delegates short & will knock off about 100 of these in last 6 primaries thus making him 71 short...HE WILL HAVE A WAVE OF SUPERS TO PUT HIM PAST THE MAGIC #...This is reality as opposed to the fantasy you framed...

And super delegates can CHANGE their mind AT ANY TIME. Their votes are not registered until the convention. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN in politics. Let's remember that.

Keep the Faith
By Democrat in Fort Worth, TX May 9th 2008 at 1:51 pm EDT
With the way this race is going and the way the media and Obama are telling how it will end, I am reminded of 2nd Timothy 4:7 (New Testament).

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Thank you for pressing on. With God's help we will see it to the end. (P.S. My contribution is in as of today.)

Local Hillary Supporters Gave Us the Audacity
By Democrat in Santa Cruz, CA May 9th 2008 at 1:53 pm EDT
To Change the Patterns of this Race. One of our local leaders gave us this strategy:

All Women who can Attend

Go to Denver.
Meet the Delegates.
Wear Your Hillary Gear.
Let them see our Faces at the Convention.

I have been looking at the AMTrack. You can travel with a partner and book a private bedroom to travel across the country. That can be your vacation or sick leave.

If we organize a massive movement to meet them in Denver, we can make our case.

YES SHE HAS THE AUDACITY to declare she's the best candidate, as she is. She also has more balls than most men. Watch them run, leaving a trail behind.

Help
By Sandi May 9th 2008 at 2:59 pm EDT
How do I get the names of these damn super Delegates. We need to act fast!
Re: Help
By BatonRougeDem May 9th 2008 at 6:19 pm EDT
one way, if you can stomach the idea of a dream team, go to voteboth.com, created by a Clintonite, whose site will gladly guide you on how to find your superdelegate so you can write him or her with a form letter, to voice your idea of a Clinton/Obama ticket.

To give Obama supporters fair time, they too can write their superdelegate if they don't mind an Obama/Clinton ticket.

I spent my "stimulus" package money on Clinton already...

and probably will donate more. But it is a losing cause. Even Hillary knows it.
