I got into it again with J-P and I feel terrible. I am thinking about the conflicts on this website in the context of Al Gore's new book, "The Assault on Reason."
Today, irrationality, and the discounting of reason in favor of those who wish to impose their personal facile faith-based delusions has reached the levels of an assault. In so many situations and circumstances, I am able to demonstrate the strength of my convictions with pride and consideration. Recently, I have failed to do so, and when confronted with irrationality, I respond with anger.
J-P's relentless lack of awareness and his insistent perception of righteousness threaten my hope that strength of character and reasoned civility will not succumb to the unbridled forces of delusion. Self-righteous unconsciousness, powerfully imposed is truly frightening to me. It is the same antisocial behavior in George W. Bush, who is determined to drive our country into disaster, which I sense in Jean-Pierre Ady Fenyo's conduct and his insistence on dominating this DNC website. To disagree with him is to be called anti-Semitic or fascist. I’d personally rather have republicans just call me unpatriotic.
Today, on this website I give up. I have tried many times to get beyond the intimidations and impositions of Mr. Fenyo, but I cannot. He scares me, and when I am scared, I get angry. His unreasonableness is an overwhelming force, and I have grown weary and I do not wish to impose my weariness on all the good and caring people I have met here.
I apologize to anyone including Mr. Fenyo, who I may have offended or disappointed. I wish all of my friends here the very best. Continue to fight the good fight, and I am proud to be a liberal, and a writer.

Don't Leave!

You're one of the best writers on the site!
JP is our local enfant terrible, but I don't think he means any harm. Just add those you wish to read your post to your frinds list. You can post directly to them then.
I for one would miss your posts.
You have important things to say, and you say them very well indeed.

NOTE TO JP:
Love ya, dude, but you have GOT to learn about 'extended post'! Look how you have exasperated her! The true measure of a writer is how much he can say in a sentence, not a page.

So Tolstoy is not a real writer? And do you think, long books shoud be burnt because too many among the new generations of young people, raised on commercials, do not have the mental capacity to read them anyway?
There are certain things that become superficial statements if not explaind in detail.
I think J.P. Fenyo writes very interesting and thoughtful articlesand I like to read them and never feel threatned by his statemnts and I'm not intimidated to disagree with them. I think, the real problem is that you guys are not assertive enough (that's why you become aggressive and offensive).

I you silence your own voice than everyone loses. People with deaf ears will never listen but there are plenty here who will!

One little spark can light an entire forest on fire. If your voice leaves, then that is one more victory for the encroaching darkness. Like many others who read much more than they write, I appreciate your articulation of the issues so that I can be better informed and spread the flame of Progressive Liberalism. Please have courage and stay strong!

I have had enough of you, Lyla
By Bluebird May 21st 2007 at 3:24 pm EDT
Although I am so busy being a corporate slave that usually I do not have time to post blogs or comments on this site, I have been following the writings, including your mean-spirited attaks which you and your bully friends began against J.P. Fenyo, without him attacking you first. Here I am a wittness that none of your accusations that are agains his persona have any ground. I know him in person and he is a true philosopher with unique ideas, and yes, strong opinions, based on lots of experience. He speaks several languages and is very well traveled and all other things that he states about himself is more or less true.
I think the problem is that those of you who attack his person have some kind of inferiority complex which is why instead of attacking the content of his writing (if you disagree with it) you attack him. I totally understand when he defends himself from your false, hateful accusations, especially what Matt did yesterday, stating that J.P. Fenyo hates Palestinians. I know for fact, that he hates no people, in fact he hates no one. But yes, he hates (just like me) actions and statements that are unjustified and would be intended and/or lead to destroying lives (including his).
If people want to place long blog posts here, it's their right, as long as nothing is done by the people in charge of the website to change it (I mean providing a technical limitations).
Finally, let me tell you, Lyla, your activities concerning J.P. Fenyo disgust me and raise questions about YOUR mental state.

I am curious to know what other people think about mi opinion.
I haven't had enough of you Lyla!

I have thought of three insulting things to say to you, and have deleted everyone of them. They are not worthy of print and they bring me to a level that I will not degrade myself toward.

However, your actions, spamming the blog area is irreprehensable, and irresponsible as a person of intellegence. Understand, I *must* stress this as well, I was unnerved by no small means that there was an Anti-*anyone* group, even if it was meant in jest. If it happened to me, I would be insulted, and would take approprate action to combat the situation. But the action should fit the situation. Your action effects everyone, whether or not they are involved with the situation at hand. If you felt harrassed, you should have called them on it and then called the webmaster (if you haven't).

I will tell you Jean-Pierre Ady Fenyo as I have said to Lyla, you have lost persepective. Consider the unwanted advice I gave to her as well: It is time to step back and take a deep breath. We have to face our foes united, and admittedly it is difficult with a vast range of people...

... but isn't that what Democracy is about.

That's right, there should be appropriate action taken, especially against the mock profile about J.P. Fenyo. Anne K. and Lyla initiated all those personal attacks, involving Matt who I think is either very confused or have real anti-semitic sentiments.
I like what J.P. Fenyo writes and do not consider it spam. I wander if I still have the right to my view or I have to swallow whatever the hate mongers are trying to shove down my throught.
I don't care how wanderfully Lyla can twist and turn the words, she is full of bad intentions and hatred agains J.P. Fenyo and I do not understand why. As long as the people in charge of this site do not take care of the technical conditions, he and anybody else should have the right to post long articles and I and others should have the right to read them if that's what we wish. OR NOT???

The spam that I am referring toward the top ten Anti-Anti, and Anti list that I saw last night. That was my specific term of spam. And no I still don't think it was appropreate.

But I will agree with you on one point. While I think its inappropreate, and bad net ettique, you are correct, I can scroll pass them onto other posts.

Hmm...

What I have against "JP" is that he dislikes me for being 11 years old, he doesn't believe it, he thinks that it is inappropriate for me to be on this site, and thinks my parents don't know that I'm here.

I thought that a democrat indicated open-ness of mind, yet his is closed to me.
I'm not your ordinary 11 year old, and if I really decided I was going to show my talents, I would go far. My writing has gotten far better over the past year. Tell me, 'Bluebird', does your friend's actions constitute a good person? Turning away someone of the same beliefs just because you don't believe what they state?

Many people on this site have accepted me as my rightful age. Your friend has not. I don't think you are right in your generalizations. He's not nice to everyone.

Tell me, 'Bluebird', was I wrong about your friend?

Don't Worry

We all have our days. Well, except for me. Due to a Medical condition that I refuse to go on the pill to fix, I'm a bitch for a whole week .

If you read all my posts, you can easily map out my cycle. LOL.

It's all good Lyla. Don't beat yourself up.

Unwanted advice.
By Alex May 21st 2007 at 5:17 pm EDT
In times where you are too close and emotional in a cause, or against a person, it is good to step back and take a rest.

I disagree with your slant of simply giving up. That is why the Neo-Cons have run unchecked in the Republican Party. If you are passionate about an issue, you should pursue it with all vigor. If you loose your prespective, then its time to stand back and take a deep breath.

In the First Amendment, you do have the 'freedom of speech'. Just keep in mind that an extremist has as much of a right to say what he/she wants to say as you do. That is what the mouse and scroll button is for (and believe me I've used it alot in recent days).

Just keep in mind that the inverse is true. So don't give up. Don't give up your ablities to express your opinion, even if someone else disagrees (fact or emotional base doesn't matter). I will keep looking for you and Anne to start posting again.

I'd like to interrupt the group hug
By My Vote May 21st 2007 at 9:14 pm EDT
I had just submitted a post entreating the DNC to invest additional time, money and interest in advancing the community blog site when I turned around to find a flame war that lasted more than 6 hours. In my post I stated my conviction about this site, "...probably the best proselytizing mechanism the Party owns."

Excuse me but I'm pissed. Right now I don't care how good are your posts, I care about how many people tuned in to witness the site being hacked by a bunch of children throwing invectives and tantrums. As I wrote to JP, I don't want to read any he said, she said, or they started it. This is not the place.

Is this the place to have mock profile, picking on J.P. Fenyo's name, showing a horse's ass? Well, I am pissed, too. And I don't care WHO created that profile, it is rude and I'm sick of it.

I appreciate your effort to improve this site but it would be just that if you pick on the victim you should also tell the bullies to stop.
