White side of race

White side of it........and a women of any color side of it.

How Black America got to America was wrong but because they got to America...... they are not living in DarFur.

My people came by choice they say? Well, my people were thrown on boats leaving Ireland not because
of choice but because the landowners could no longer feed them, the tenant workers.

Ships left to America, Canada and Australia. Many were so ill and malnourished they died before reaching shore.
They landed with no money, no jobs and they were subjected to discrimination with signs posted
"Irish no need to apply" where jobs were available.

As it is with first generations of many races, women did domestic work. The men of the houses often forced themselves on these women. Rape knows no color. The children worked in sweat shops, often 16 hours a day. There are many forms of slavery.

World slavery has had its roots since the beginning of time...... it goes on today.
But, here in America we fought a War to end slavery. They were finally set free....time to move on.
Don't forget...... women have had to struggle, always, to do just that ...to move on.

We got our vote, 50 years after the black man.
Should we stand up somewhere and say....... "God Damn America"
No......... and I say, all the time....... God Bless America that I, as a member of those early days
have had the opportunity to be what I am..... it takes time. Sometimes it takes generations.

I am the first member of my immigrant family to obtain a college education. Only 150 years.
As a women it took me a lifetime to get the education that was open to just men for so many years.

I don't feel sorry for the blacks... I have more respect for them to do that.
I feel sorry for the ones that do not take ownership of their own respect.

I don't want to see any race as victims. I want to see equal opportunities for all. Live, Love, Work and Play Fair.

That is what it was all about in the 60s.

Your beautiful, talented, smart and you can be anything you want to be...... you can, you can , you can....... just believe it.

It may take awhile though.
60% of college students are women today.
When they graduated they will find a job market with 30% acceptability, as women.

Sorry gang...... black me trump women of any color.
We have had black men as Mayors, Governors, Congress, before a women of any color.....
even in space.. a black man before a women of any color.

Just once...... just once......

We want a women to go first.. but in the end we all want what is best... and she is.
Lucky for us....... we women ... and we are now hanging by our polished nails to the dream that still can happen.

You wonder why we won't quit? Because, all through life that is the only way we have succeeded.

Hillary Clinton... first.. 2008 Barack Obama.. 2016

Obama is because he is not a she and you just want a she to be first? This is more important then that! You just showed me a lot

well I do understand you wanting a women to be first, but if thats not the case I hope you support the values and issues your candidate stands for and vote democratic

If you are asking if we understand the issues and support the values that Barack Obama stands for...the answer is unequivocally "NO"...I don't understand the issues because he has yet to define them, and I certainly don't support his values...based upon what I know of his so called and spiritual advisor over the past 20 years.

He has defined the issues and they have been addressed on this blog. You have to be open to hear them even if he is not your candidate.

She is a true Democrat and will support and campaign for Obama.
She is part of the old politics that Obama wants to Change....... you know....loyalty to party, team player.....knowing how important it is not to have the Republicans in control.

Will Obama support her like that?
Michelle won't.

Al Sharpton will have tens of thousands to protest if Obama is not the Naminee....riot?

Now, tell me.... is this the kind of change we are looking for?

I was asking about you, will you support the party if she looses. You are correct I do think Hillary will support the party and Obama for the GE, that's a good thing and I will give her credit for doing so

YES, a WOMAN in the White House is more important than your Obama!!!!! It's our time, why is it that we're always suppose to be last? Why is it that it's always tomorrow, next year, next century..... We're always last and what worse, is that we're expected to be happy with last. NO LONGER, To h#ll with Obama, I'm for Hillary all the way, even if it's a write-in. If Obama thinks he's going to win without our vote, you have a shock coming in November.

And down will come Obama, black vote and all.

your a fanatic an angry one at that, you do not care about reason or the party or the country and that is sad, I wish you did!

However, I do understand your anger, you really want to see women in power. I am assuming you are elderly? I say that because your views seem a little dated. In the business world women are getting lots of positions with real power! I have worked for 3 major cooperations in the last 10 years and all of them had women in very top level positions. So your cries that women are oppressed is a little false. I am not saying its perfect and there are still issues to be resolved
Re: so the only reason you do not like

to be clear I am talking to lifetime
Re: so the only reason you do not like
By Lifetime Democrat May 10th 2008 at 2:09 pm EDT
Get REAL, 1) your wrong, I'm not elderly and my views are NOT dated. 2) Women in the work force are still paid less than men for comparable jobs. 3) Women in the business world, who have made fortunes are still not as prominent as men and are still subject to the MALE dominated glass tower. So please tell me how much progress women have made???? Please tell me why women in the Middle East must still cover themselves because men can't control themselves. Women still walk 5 feet behind men in many countries and in China with their one child rule, Female babies are aborted twice as much as male babies. So please tell me we're equal, please, please try again and tell me we're equal. Fanatic......only in that I believe woman are due. If you're female and you're happy with the way things are for women, then you have settled for second best. I don't plan to settle!!!!!!
Re: so the only reason you do not like
By NJ member May 10th 2008 at 2:27 pm EDT
I do agree they make less, that is a point of discussion. I was not talking about the middle east or other countries either, just here. I know there are larger issues in other countries. Do you really think the republicans are the answer to your issues?

By the way this is a very complex issue and you seem to be simplifying it. Women in America and not talking about a candidate would be a great topic for a post
Re: so the only reason you do not like
By Lifetime Democrat May 10th 2008 at 2:37 pm EDT
That's the problem..........it's always another topic, another day, another blog, another show..... never ending wait. No one wants to face it. Why should men want to deal with it? They hold the real power. What a monopoly they've got. Why should they face their demons???? Simplifying??????? NEVER

so to prove your point you going to over turn Roe vs Wade? That makes sense to you? You care about women so much you going to screw them over!!!!

With friends like you women do not need anymore enemies!!

Ever consider its people like you that keep women down?
Re: so the only reason you do not like
By Edison Carter May 10th 2008 at 2:58 pm EDT
Good point. Most neo progressive issues are like that. On almost every case they start out blaming everying on the democrats for not collaborating enough with the republicans and then conclude that the solution is to just let the republicans have their way because it might make them happy which might make them be more willing to collaborate back. Obama's movement is in the wrong direction.
Re: so the only reason you do not like
By Lifetime Democrat May 10th 2008 at 3:12 pm EDT
You presume a lot. The race isn't over.

I have no desire to over turn Roe vs. Wade.

I will not be bullied or coerced into any vote, which is exactly what the Obama crowd is trying to do.
Re: so the only reason you do not like

and worse will be the economic situation because of your close-mindedness.
Re: so the only reason you do not like
By Lifetime Democrat May 10th 2008 at 2:30 pm EDT
That's your opinion, I'm not closed minded, if there was a better candidate available, I would consider them. That is NOT Obama. You feel that Obama is the better choice and that I must be the one to confirm to your views. Hillary has been crucified in the media and with the DNC from the beginning. I don't agree, as is obvious, so we're deadlocked. I have no intentions of voting for your guy and you have no intentions of voting for my gal. I'm not making negative personal remarks about you and I suggest you stop.

With all due respect...

With all due respect to Senator Obama, I wonder just how far a junior, unproven senator would get in a presidential election if he were not black?? I vote based on qualification, not gender, race or ethnicity. I respect Mr. Obama and his efforts. But, he is not the most qualified candidate. Change can be good. But first one must know what that change is.
Clinton in 08.

Clinton 2008 and 2012...Why, because she has the experience and can cross party lines...it is about unifying, not dividing.
