PB Messages
Bad? Brilliant?

As you may have noticed, when you send a message in PartyBuilder, you get a blank page. We're working on that right now, and I'll update this post when it's fixed.

However, the message does in fact send -- even though the page is blank. If you want to make sure, just check the "sent messages" link when you're looking through your messages.

The problem only appears to be the blank page. If there are complaints about it not actually sending those messages, please let me know in the comments.

Thanks.

Thanks Michael, it happened to me this am, I am so proud that instead of re-sending, I checked my sent messages. I thought "What would Michael suggest?".

Please try your group listserv. This should be fixed, but if not, can you send me a link to the group?

was wondering about that...

on another note, maybe on the next site re-design we can think about having multi-page inboxes? my inbox seems like its about a mile long!

Everybody has a private and a public URL. Your public one is:

Link

As for the other issues, can you go through them step-by-step in great detail? Exactly what are you clicking, on what pages? Do you get error messages? Do you get blank pages? Do you just click but it doesn't register as a click? Does it refresh?

Thanks Mike,
I didn't know about the "private". Of course I never see it on anyone else's url.
This is what I have right now.....
on dashboard......
Invite new friends=
Link

I have no messages so I can't send you the links I get for them.
They change all the time.

on the compose page.........

When I try to compose and click to place the curser in the box=
Link

send button =
Link

preview button=
Link

select all friends=nothing

on dashboard......
Invite new friends=

This problem being taken care of will enable me to access the page much quicker , rather than having to wait ten to fifteen minute's for it to download all on the site page.
T'a'a' iiyisi ahe'hee in advance Mr. Michael Link Sir.

I can't do this in the back-end, because I don't have access to users' private messages (for good reason).

However, I can give you some advice:

If you're using Firefox, there's an amazing Add-On that allows you to highlight every checkbox in a form, right-click, and select them all.

This means you don't have to click the checkboxes one-by-one. And if you have thousands of messages, this could save you about an hour of clicking.

Then you just click "delete."

I think the Add-On is called "Check All." So if you're not using Firefox, download it. Then get the Add-On.

woah, thanks for the Firefox tip!

Little Dine, FWIW, regarding deleting: I have noticed 2 different places where one can delete messages - in a tab above the body of the message itself, and in another tab at the top of your inbox.

I found that if you want to delete multiple messages at the same time, the "delete" button at the top of the inbox is best. If you try to delete several messages at once using the "delete" button at the bottom, it won't work.

hope that helps!
deleting messages

So we have to check each box one at a time? Wish there was a "select all" button, or that the click/shift/click command worked here like it does on GMAIL, Yahoo and Outlook...

Any way top add that feature to the message program?

oops, just saw the Firefox reference, I'll use it now. Sorry for skimming and not reading in full.

PS... when will we see a "dump this troll" button, the moderators shold be able to tell when it's a troll atack against a legitimate Dem, and when it is legitimate Dems wanting a troll out of the loop.

Maybe something that simply sent the mods a tally, then if enough obviously legit Dems agree, toss the trolls into outer darkness!

Thank you Michael

Some of us are still not getting through.
By AnneK Jun 17th 2008 at 7:11 am EDT
Some of the people in my group get error messages when they try to use the listserv. It worked okay for a couple of hours yesterday, and then quit.
