Im an enthusiastic Democrat who wants to help. I've gone to my state Democratic Party website twice and offered my services, also I have signed up to help individual candidates in my state. But obviously no one is manning the computer or phones. It could just be me though. If anyone has ever done this before could you please tell me how long this process takes. -micheal

First - find your local senate and congress website - state level. Second find the US level. register with both - find a blog and get on the email.

THEN GO TO BARACKOBAMA.COM!!!! register - put in your zip and find a group in your area or by interest.

I belong to my local groups at the state and national level for senate in NC and they have events all the time. On the presidential national level - there are many - MANY groups,,,,,,i get phone calls to get involved and emails, all kinds of stuff....

Depending on how small your county is they may not have an ofice open all day...hell some don't even have an office. Keep trying.

Try the Obama site...they will put you to work fast.

In 2006, I tried to offer my services to the Minnesota Democratic candidate for governor, and I didn't hear squat back from his office. It could
be one reason why we got stuck with a Republican rubber stamper instead. Even this year which seems promising, we need to work harder than ever.
