Urgent Message
From Senator Mike Gravel

Monday, October, 29, 2007

Friends,

Corporate censorship has taken over. I have been excluded unfairly from the MSNBC Debate at Drexel University this Tuesday.

I won't have it!

Join me for this truly historic event...

I am broadcasting LIVE via WebCast tomorrow from Philadelphia across from the debate site at Drexel University and I will be answering all of the same debate questions that Hillary and the others are answering at the MSNBC debate. That WebCast will be LIVE at 6pm PT, 7pm MT, 9pm ET at Link (bookmark this page).

If you live in the Philadelphia area, I will be at World Cafe Live (http://www.worldcafelive.com) with hundreds of supporters and anti-war protestors to protest GE (the owner of MSNBC and NBC) and corporate media censorship in this election! Join me there - doors open at 8:30pm ET.

Even if you have donated to my campaign, I urge you to donate again. I need you to take a stand with me today.

Yours in gratitude,

Senator Mike Gravel

Senator?
By Dr. Lee Oct 30th 2007 at 12:50 am EDT
You are not really a senator, so why use the title? It is disingenuous.
where are you from?
By My Vote Oct 30th 2007 at 1:00 am EDT
Do the titles President Carter, President Bush, President Clinton, Senator Edwards, Senator Gore, etc. ring a bell? The titles extend past the office and have done so for as long as I can remember. Judges also enjoy the same honor.

Of course Myvote is right, the title lasts forever but it doesnt matter to me, he is still a waste of time.

If Gravel himself really posted this then it is all the more pathetic.
Re: Senator?

He was the Governor of Alaska, and was better than Frank Murkowski by a long shot. He served for two terms, as a Senator from 1969 to 1981. He was known for ending the draft following the Vietnam War, with a one-man filibuster, and getting the Pentagon Papers into the public record, then he campaigned for VP in 1972.

Recently, he stated, "Russia spends just 3%-4% of their budget on defense, while the US defense budget is more than all other nations combined. What are we afraid of?"

Senators that serve 2 terms are called Senior Senators and are entitled to prefix "The Honorable" to their names. After retiring, they can take "Former Senator" as their title. He earned his rank.

Philadelphia is so far away--but we will be there in spirit. Don't let the mousy-mouthed say-nothings get away with anything. Keep telling it like it is!

True Dems

They aren't including Mike because he's down in the polls, not getting the donations, and not in the top tier, so it has NOTHING to do with whether he was a senator, or not. He's more than qualified. He can still earn an invitation, it hasn't been taken away.

And yes, he's Senator Mike Gravel.

And yes, I think you're right, they want Hillary, because several Repukes could beat her, she votes like them.

Good Luck

Former Senator Gravel - GOOD luck.

Political Courage
By Democrat in Fremont, MI Oct 30th 2007 at 12:56 pm EDT
A dedicated group of individuals have made a pledge to save democracy by cutting through confusing rhetoric and 30 second sound bits. Project Vote Smart simply asks for unfettered information from the presidential candidates through the Political Courage Test, which is then posted on their website, votesmart.org. All the candidates are required to do is give their positions on the issues that affect the lives of the American public. We should write not only on this candidate’ s blog, but on all of the presidential candidates blogs encouraging them to share their vision of America in a simple, coherent way. The deadline for returning the Political Courage Test is just around the corner, October 31st, so lets show candidates we want more than bytes and jabs, we want real answers about real issues that can come from taking the Political Courage Test.
