Ms. Palin has the audacity to allege that Obama espouses sympathy for terrorists because of his ex-friendship with Mr. Ayers. As it is known Mr. Ayres was involved during the Vietnam era with the domestic terrorism organization Weather Underground. In my humble opinion Mr. Obama could counterattack by saying that, if he was to employ tactics nearly as "dirty" as the McCain-Palin campaign, he could say that his past friendship with Mr. Ayres is incomparable with Ms. Palin being the spouse of someone who once advocated the separation of Alaska from the US and its affiliation with Canada; however he, Barack Obama, does not suggest that because of her husband's past affiliation Ms. Palin's she is any less patriotic than he is.

we haven't forgotten that mccains lobbyist flew some of the saudi family out of the U.S. after 9/11 - but let's not even digress.

More legit concern - is what excactly has john mccain done to reform his party since he has been a U.S. senator for - 20 + years?

either he is loyoal to his party and it's basic principles or not. he can't have it both ways.
