Democrats come in all sizes and shapes, we like different types of foods and hold jobs and social standing in all sectors of society. As a Democrat there is one truth I hold in my heart and that is to use the party to better the plight of mankind, starting right here in the USA! And I think we can agree that as Democrats we believe that all the people should be heard, not just those in the highest points of industry or those whose choice of religion or sexual orientation we agree with. And I believe that being a Democrat is not about filling your pockets with gold but to be able to look yourself in the mirror each and every morning with pride cause you believe in a better world for all people and you're ready to do something about it! What is being a Democrat mean to you?

You are probably not going to like my answer on this-
but being a Democrat to me means that I have joined a team (group) that is capable of taking some of the power away from the neo-cons who have shown their desire and ability to destroy our future----for greed and power for a tiny tiny few---and the rest of the world are just plain disposable.

I have been an independant all my life (until 2000) and never have liked the two party system, and have spent lots of time trying to get others elected----
but in the 90's, I found out about PNAC, and did everything I could to help stop Bush and Company and I lost-
After the election was stolen in 2000 I became terrified, and decided that I had to join the only team that could help me and I could help them----and besides, most of my leanings are democratic---so, that is what being a democrat means to me.

Actually your answer is great cause it's from your heart. That's what you believe and your answer is honest. I also hear you loud and clear regarding the 2000 election. My wife and I thought of leaving the country at that time. Some folks couldn't believe I was considering that move but it was all too real for me. Now we have an opportunity to take this country back, not just as Democrats but for all the people and to create a democracy that protects our rights and liberties as Americans and members of a global society. I hope more voters see the world through your eyes.

Well,

I like your definition of a Democrat. Mine wouldn't be too much different. :)

I wish some around here would take that message to heart.

So many times people get a little power and they abuse it.

All Democrats should be heard. All have the right to free speech even if someone does not agree with them.

Talking is always good, it gets things discussed. Getting things discussed gives ideas or works though problems.

It is far better to discuss the topic, and discuss it. Never attack the one talking.
