Before you talk about how racist he is, listen to one of his full speeches. Then look into the references he makes. Its funny cause every time someone brings up one of his speeches to him he's always like, "did you hear the whole speech?" the answer is always no.

its because people are like, "why waste my time with that? i don't need context! i'll make it up!" this is literally the reason why Obama distanced himself. not because the man is evil, but rather because there are just too many idiots who don't get facts from reliable sources (like the actual full speech) but rather people who spin things for ratings. seriously, sit and listen to a whole speech

i know i'm going to get a whole bunch of "oh, i listened to a full one and its just as hateful" from people who haven't so since whether you watch or not and comment or not, i'm just telling you, you aren't making up your mind for yourself, you're letting other people tell you whats up.

"different is not deficient"

when he says we created brought 9/11 on ourselves it is because we make up 5% of the world's population but are using up 25% of the world's resources. and the he's not making shit up when he says that the CIA was supplying Ricky Ross with cocaine to fund a war that they started in Nicaragua. take the time to look for yourself!

you are right. its more a comment towards those democrats who still call him a hate-spewer. but yeah, as far as competing against the publies, you are right sir.

i've thought for some time now that obama should have a debate with rev. wright. have it play on a national broadcaster. everyone in the whole country would watch and then could make up their minds for their own.

how can i not defend this? i didn't really make a point other than you should watch a full rev. wright speech for yourself. you don't want to because if you did, you might feel a little bad for using rev. wright as your excuse for essentially saying "vote for hillary because we need a woman as president."

sounds like you aren't too happy with the current state of america either. haha i love how you call it the "rock star" craze. when i really look at how the democratic party has been polarized, it was done this way...

there are the people who haven't been f*cked over by life, who like obama, and then there's the people who feel like life is f*cking them over who love clinton (cause she's rocky. ooo tough, she's a fighter, just like we are, cause our life sucks, but we're working through it). its just so funny cause hill doesn't have your back. she wants you to make you buy health insurance, that's her health plan. its because she leads all senators in money from the HMO's. so when she says that she's got your back, she's really saying i've got your back because i want the government to pay my friends instead of you. so you pay it in taxes as opposed to directly to the HMO's. she calls it universal health care, she's got lots of idiots on her side who don't believe in counting delegates nor believing experts, and she knows she would get away with it.

and who picks their presidential candidate to fit in? you are an idiot.

call them book smarts but if you could get into the university of wisconsin you would gladly do it. its because i worked my ass of in school while you f*cked around and now that you're poor your getting "bamboozled" (think that word is so funny every time i hear it) by a candidate who knows you don't know any better.

Your title...
By Democrat in Sebastian, FL May 14th 2008 at 12:13 pm EDT
I hate America too (right now...) as an Obama supporter speaks volumes about why DEMs stand no chance with Obama in November.

If you can't see how out of step you are with the rest of the nation, then no one can cure your blindness.

George Bush, Jr. won TWICE because of some Democrats who the the empathy of a stone.
Re: Your title...
By MCNoel May 14th 2008 at 12:21 pm EDT
no the democrats lost twice because they were big pussies and were afraid to say this. go ahead and call me whatever you want but if you like where america is right now and where its heading, then you just don't know about what's really up. its just as simple as that.

as a college student, i'm in school 3 hours a day. what do you think i do with all this free time? oh yeah, get the truth about things.

such a stupid argument that Obama stands no chance. well how about the fact that he won fair and square?
Re: Your title...
By Democrat in Sebastian, FL May 14th 2008 at 12:31 pm EDT
I haven't called you anything and no, I don't like where America is right now or the direction Bush has taken us. But that doesn't mean I think Obama is a better candidate to win in November than Clinton.

So they teach you to hate America in college these days? Is that the truth? That's not what they taught me when I went to college.

Last I looked, he hadn't yet won anything. And what is so fair and square about denying Florida and Michigan their votes?

If you believe that Obama can beat McCain in November, fine. I just don't agree.
Re: Your title...
By MCNoel May 14th 2008 at 12:39 pm EDT
1) polls show obama beating mccain in general election

2) no they don't teach hate. i said it because everyone talks about rev. wright and obama hating america, and if they do, then i do too. kinda a ridiculous comment. they obviously teach no hate here at UW.

3) FL and MI is a sad situation. I just wish you had better people running your stuff cause they really did mess it up for you?

4) Ricky Ross, Iran Contra, American Terrorism...those are all things you can find out about when your day just consists of three hours for school. I'm not making it up? I reiterate the initial main point I made that people just don't get the information needed to form opinions about the things they form opinions about. They just "roll with their gut." I could write you a 15-page paper about all of this stuff, but its already all out there.
Re: Your title...
By Democrat in Sebastian, FL May 14th 2008 at 1:10 pm EDT
1) Polls today mean nothing in November.

2) You're the one who wrote that you hated America because you learned the truth in college

3) You obviously aren't a political science major in college or else you would know that the primary date was moved up by Florida Republicans.

4) And Washington and Jefferson who we honor owned slaves and Americans slaughtered native Americans, etc. I'm not making that stuff up either, but when you reach my age in another 40 years or so, you realize that all you can do is learn from the past. You learn that the US is the best country on earth allowing us to have these debates without worrying that our front door is going to be bashed down and we will be arrested as dissidents, and you DON'T hate America.

But most importantly, you gain the wisdom to see the big picture, observe issues through the eyes of others and assess who can and cannot win in November.

Peace

I think more than a few of us have read and seen the whole thing. The fact that you continue to bring this up in the way that you do further feeds others points that Obama can not move past this. His own supporters continue to make reasons why wright was not wrong.
Also..... NOBODY not a nation, city, race, gender or religion deserves or has brought onto themselfs the type of things that happened during 911. It is narrow minded spiritual leaders like wright who has taken the anger, pain, and resentment that a group of people feel and turned it into anger. Hitler did it, Saddam did it, and in allot of way Wright is doing it.
I suggest you step back and look at everything. Would you like to tell a mother who lost her child in 911 or Iraq that America brought this onto themselfs?
I hope that some of your fellow Obama supporters step forward and tell you just how bad you make them and Obama look to the rest of us and also give you a good reality check about the world you live in today!
Re: .............
By Someonewhocares May 14th 2008 at 12:37 pm EDT
Oh amd BTW if you hate America right now so badly than get the F&*k out because this country does not need more negative energy and condescending narrowminded rhetorical people such as yourself who use horrible events to try to state your point as correct. All people like you are doing is tearing ALL of this country apart from the inside out and giving the psycho's who were behind 911 satisfaction.

9/11 points...no its not the individual mom of kid that got killed in iraq's fault. its everyones. also iraq has nothing to do with 9/11. i don't want to lay out the points of wright's speech because no one knows what hes talking about so all i get is people who've heard tidbits. here's the actual speech.

“I heard Ambassador Peck on an interview yesterday did anybody else see or hear him? He was on FOX News, this is a white man, and he was upsetting the FOX News commentators to no end, he pointed out, a white man, an ambassador, he pointed out that what Malcolm X said when he was silenced by Elijah Mohammad was in fact true, he said Americas chickens, are coming home to roost.â€

“We took this country by terror away from the Sioux, the Apache, Arikara, the Comanche, the Arapaho, the Navajo. Terrorism.

“We took Africans away from their country to build our way of ease and kept them enslaved and living in fear. Terrorism.

“We bombed Grenada and killed innocent civilians, babies, non-military personnel.

“We bombed the black civilian community of Panama with stealth bombers and killed unarmed teenage and toddlers, pregnant mothers and hard working fathers.

“We bombed Qaddafi’s home, and killed his child. Blessed are they who bash your children’s head against the rock.

“We bombed Iraq. We killed unarmed civilians trying to make a living. We bombed a plant in Sudan to pay back for the attack on our embassy, killed hundreds of hard working people, mothers and fathers who left home to go that day not knowing that they’d never get back home.

“We bombed Hiroshima. We bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon and we never batted an eye.

“Kids playing in the playground. Mothers picking up children after school. Civilians, not soldiers, people just trying to make it day by day.

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff that we have done overseas is now brought right back into our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.

“Violence begets violence. Hatred begets hatred. And terrorism begets terrorism. A white ambassador said that y’all, not a black militant. Not a reverend who preaches about racism. An ambassador whose eyes are wide open and who is trying to get us to wake up and move away from this dangerous precipice upon which we are now poised. The ambassador said the people we have wounded don’t have the military capability we have. But they do have individuals who are willing to die and take thousands with them. And we need to come to grips with that.â€

learned something new too. the 9/11 comment was a quote from our US ambassa dor to Iraq, "Our chickens are coming home to roost" i think i heard that before but forgot. but yeah, he was just quoting our ambassador
Re: .............
By Someonewhocares May 14th 2008 at 12:52 pm EDT
Yeah well..... back in the day some of our leaders said and had very bad views about how others should be treated even women.... so does that make it ok for me to preach it to others? Sounds like you are now defending what he said by saying... "well someone else said it first!"
Obama has denounced Wright.... yet you... and Obama Supporter is not. You can side with him, defend him, and even hate America... but don't think for a second you can judge us as a nation or country for mistakes our ancestors made nor can you disrespect those who defend your ass at night while you sleep and during the day when you have the FREEDOM to go to school.
Do Obama a favor and just stop trying to defend Wright in his name.
Re: .............
By MCNoel May 14th 2008 at 12:55 pm EDT
he denounced him because he knows people aren't smart enough to figure out what he's really about. when wright gave his naacp speech on cnn they aired it all night and then talked about how it blew the whole thing open and was so inspirational. but the next day, all the news stations just picked the most radical stuff he said during it so Obama had do it because politically it was best for him
Re: .............
By Someonewhocares May 14th 2008 at 1:17 pm EDT
So what your saying is Obama denouced him just in words and I am right in not trusting that he actually meant it and that it was just said so he would not look bad?
Great thanks fgor clearing that up for me!

that since obama has numbers (don't have the time to try to explain to clinton supporter what those are...) and will be the nomination hill's only argument that obama is not electable is now nullified.

I saw Dresden after the wall came down. It was still pretty much in the same state it was after the war. That was a fire bomb that burned nearly the entire city.

If this college kid knows that that minister didn't mean what he said about 911 then he sure is a mind reader of the century. 911 pales in depth to the destruction in Dresden. But that was a war and 911 was an act of terrorism directed at us. Sorry but I believe what that firebrand minister said and was to incite his followers.

There is so much negativity on this site that I have avoided it of late. I check my mail. Check on friends and leave.
Where are the old-timers? I'll tell you... waiting for the dust to settle and the smoke to clear so we can have some real meat on the site again. Too much trash. Nothing to learn, nothing to write about. Just trash her, trash him.... trash.
i will no longer respond to race posts. They are moot and serve no positive benefit as the dialog quickly becomes juvenile.
McNoel. I understand where you are coming from.... You can't change the mind of people who refuse to see. Bringing the subject up over and over does no one any good.
Work for your candidate and pray for peace.
It will come, in time.
peace,
marsha

1. You have no idea why or how the election was rigged against Gore/Kerry (sugar subsidies/Dessert Storm?

2. You have no idea about the political machine behind the puppet Obama?

3. You are not aware of duplicity and hypocrisy, the wish washy, what ever you kids want to hear, manipulation strategy he learned in Harvard? Seriously? You really don't know?

About Nufarm either? His political pollution write offs?

You do like his book though, right? Or maybe his speeches?

Let's just hope he doesn't end up the patsy he's been pegged to be, but that will take a miracle and the repos don't really believe in those, they just say they do.
