It is disgraceful that minimum wage was bundled in with the Iraq funding bill! This is NOT what the 2006 election was about. If longstanding Democrats are distraught over this manuever, stop and think what the vast majority of our fellow citizens are feeling -- disgusted, turned off and tuned out -- believing that their government has (here comes a new phrase) resorted to "politics as usual". As such, I repeat my support for a Presidential candidate who publicly opposed the Iraq war in 2002! Mike Gravel -- A Maverick on a Mission for America. Information on his proposed legislation: the U.S. Armed Forces Withdrawal from Iraq Act at www.gravel2008.us. Gravel's guts resulted in the end of the draft and the release of the true story of our sorry involvement in Vietnam. He launched a successful 5 month filibuster when he was in the Senate. You want significant change -- not cosmetic promises while more people die needlessly -- support the Gravel Plan.

I WISH

I were a cartoonist.
I would draw a picture of GW holding a baby over the balcony (a la Michael Jackson)
The baby would be labeled Minimum Wage..
and Pelosi would be standing beneath with arms outstretched--wearing a horrified expression.
We're all horrified--that any Administration would hold the well-being of its own citizens
HOSTAGE to its greed for American Empire.

can you say....
SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!

I can't say it but I know what your talking about. That is a good analogy but Pelosi needed to get on the balcony and bring the baby to safety rather than wait at the bottom to catch it.

Gravel and Kucinich are both still viable candidates for me!
