I watched the first half of the ABC special last night. I honestly did find it very interesting. I did feel that there was a lot of information left out (probably intentional) but for the most part, it was very informal. Watching it with my wife and sister in law, both found out a lot of truthful information they never did know before. I am looking forward to the 2nd half of this special to see what kind of propaganda the Republican Party has tried to throw in there. I could tell by the previews for tonights episode, that there are a lot of half-truths that they are going to air on it. As Americans, we really need to watch this, it will shine light on what the republican party wants people to know instead of the straight out truth. How much are they going to show on the lack of response Bush's administration gave to the intelligence they were given? They made a big deal out of the lack of response the NSA/CIA gave to it during Clinton's administration. Hopefully they will at least provide a resembalance of the truth.

I chose not to watch

Well, I'm going to have to take your word on the truthfulness of the presentation and see what you have to say on your follow-up as to the portrayal of the Bush response. I chose not to watch "The Path to 9/11" because, by its own admission, it dramatized and fictionalized some of the facts surrounding this important event. Instead, I watched the CBS 9/11 documentary on one of the firehouses that was involved in the response to 9/11. Factual...and much more dramatic in its reality.

I for one plan to read the 9/11 Commission report rather than rely on a loosly factual dramatization. What we ought to be doing is tracking the recommendations of the commission. I think we'd all be very shocked to find out how little has been done since the commission finished its report.

I do not blame you for not watching it. My wife and sister in law are very interesting in what they had to say. They both blame Bush for what happened, but at the same time, their only political stance right now is to vote (which by the way is more then a lot of others). I chose to watch it with them because I have read as many reports as I can find, and I wanted to see how close they really came (or did not come) to the truths published in those reports.

I watched the 2nd half of the dramatization last night, and the Presidential address (which I will only say seemed exactly like every other speech he made about 9/11 just reworded). Path to 9/11 was informational and I can agree now that watching it was a good thing because any American who has watched the news over the last 5 years regularly and has kept up-to-date on the events following 9/11 would be able to see right through it. There were a lot of factual events dipicted, but there was still so much left out that the American people should of been made aware of. Honestly, my biggest dissapointment was that they did not show or even talk about what the passengers of the plane that crashed into PA did. They should of gave those brave Americans credit for what they did. Honestly, they may have saved the President and his staff. It is believed that that plane was headed for the White House, but these true Americans did everything they could to prevent it. The Republican Party definetely had a big part in this dramatization. But the truth still stands, if President Bush, his cabinet and Mr. Tennant would have listened to the intelligence community, 9/11 could have been prevented. We allowed the truest ally of the US against terrorist being assaissanated because we did not want to get involved. Once again, I refer to the statement "Those who forget history allow it to repeat itself." This war on terror has become a war against an unknown enemy. The war in Iraq had no direct link to UBL or the attacks of 9/11. Iraq is the ONLY country on the "list" of countries that our government gave of countries who were involved in terrorism in any form that we have made a military stand against since Afghanastan. Why is that? Why is it that Korea who admits to having Nuclear weapon capabilities is being handled with democracy while Iraq was handled with bloodshed? I am not saying democracy should not be used, I am a full supporter of it, but I still believe the war in Iraq was more personal then anything else.
