Here is it simplified

Hillary and her supporters had a lot of bad things happen during her campaign because she is a woman.
This is labeled misogyny and everyone uses it and it is ACCEPTED and understood.

Obama and his supporters have also had the SAME type of bad things happen (and more) during his campaign.
I don't know of a word (label) to use for this that is ACCEPTED.

The only one I know is racism----and I have not used it for weeks because every time I did I would be attacked about falsely claiming racism or Barack supporters are all using the race card (those are just examples)

Misogyny is used here frequently and I have never seen it attacked.
My question is what is an acceptable word here for the same bigotry only directed at a black man.

I have noticed that nobody else uses the word racism here either, so this phenomenon must be more than me.

So, I am looking for an ACCEPTABLE LABEL.

Misogyny is used here frequently and I have never seen it attacked.
My question is what is an acceptable word here for the same bigotry only directed at a black man.

Please don't take this off in another direction of Wright or gay bashing or any other type of bigotry that can be addressed on another blog if you want

I was/am looking for something specific to our two candidates who's campaigns were/are both abused because of bigotry.

hm..
By Someonewhocares Jul 18th 2008 at 5:29 pm EDT
Does this mean there is no link? You couldnt get one from your friends you mentioned that had gone thru this? That really sucks.... kind of wanted to have a good roast.
ANYWAYS.... judgemental is the word I would use for it. Can not think of anything that fits the whole situation

I NEVER SAID I HAD FRIENDS I MENTIONED THAT HAD GONE THROUGH THIS
see the original blog
I explained again on Pauls blog

God, I wish people would read
I know that my arthritis and slow fingers don't let me respond in good time (I guess)
but I did try to keep re-directing trying to get everyone on topic of my blog.

It immediately went off on gay bashing and wright and all kinds of other stuff that I couldn't manage-----and no one would accept that there was not a link and that was not what the question was.

The question was not about links----it was about oppinions on labels.

OK I am done now
my fingers won't work anymore

Actually I did see the original blog and it sounded as if you had friends who had posted on blogs about this happening to them.... why so offended when people just want to help?????

Re: OH well........./ I am not a Hillary supporter, nor an Obama supporter,
By LITTLE DINE' FOR RECALL ON COLUMBUS DAY Jul 18th 2008 at 6:05 pm EDT
But I would like to recap on a phrase in the Link." I am mad as hell and I am going to stick my head out the window and YELL IT OUT LOUD"

I never in my young life thought I would shed a tear for a great woman politician, regardless of fault's, no one is perfect.
I could not help my eye's watering and tears running down my cheek's, nor a lump in my throat, to see the collective comment's made by pundit's and Obama supporter's against Hillary.
I have got to hand it to HRC. She is even a greater politician than I thought her to be. She has great fortunal strength, but it is heart breaking to see the manner in which she has been abused and her character assasinated.
I will be praying for this great woman, and hope some day in the future I can meet her in person and shake her hand if nothing else.
I know this is totally absurd and only a pipe dream to hope the day would come. I will settle for someone close to her to see my comment and make it known to her.
Mrs Hillary Clinton, you are a great woman in my eye's and in that of many of our people, and millions of American,s.

May the Great Spirit Grandfather uplift and bring you forth to the rightful place of respect by all whom cherish you as a great woman and above all an inspiration to all American men and women every where.
Peace to you maam, you are one hell of a lady. Blessing's to you and Chelsea, and also to your husband president Bill Clinton. Your true admiring friend from the heart and not my lip's.

Just another Native American youth whom also has become "Mad as hell".
Forgive my repetition of the profanity, it is not respectful nor becoming of a youth as I.
I just could not help it.

If I was of voting age I would gladly give you my vote in protest to those who have attcked you in such a vile manner. To make my outrage known.

How about 1/2 racism from both sides and male bashing.

It works for me.

I was told on this site "not to get my panties in a knot"
should I be posting every other day about how I have been attacked with a sexual innuendo?

I ignored it.

Hey High S,
By Jacob Clark Jul 18th 2008 at 5:37 pm EDT
Please don't confuse the attack dogs, who are just looking for a pretext to attack, and the discussion of rational beings. I know for a fact that you are not homophobic, not nearly as hompophobic as many of the Puma/McCain supporters now trolling the site, some of whom have shamelessly jumped on the anti-Highserenity AKA Homophobe bandwagon. I hope you can ignore them.

Racism is racism. Obama has been attacked continually by racists. He has also been attacked by non-racists. An attack on Obama doesn't immediately mean that person is a racist. But many of the attackers on this site are racists.

Racism is the correct term, just as misogyny is the correct term to describe many of the vicious attacks on Hillary.

I'm gay and I am a puma member so perhaps you should ask around before you start saying PUMA members are homophobs. Also there have been many homophobic things said. Reguardless who said them HS has not stood up and discounted them either.
If a clan member called a african American on this board something racist and nobody said anything to them and defended their argument then yes that does make them racist too

please read
that is not what he said
he said MANY puma/mccain supporters

and that can't be denied for MANY groups

I do believe that most PUMA members are McCain supporters, as it is widely reported that the founder of PUMA is a republican.

Most have tired of the race card. It has been used by all sides. It really makes it harder for real victims and is not something to play with.

third post and now well over hundred comments in total spanning them?

C'mon, people at a certain point it becomes obvious we all enjoy FIGHTING more than we do discussing and debating openly and MATURELY.

EVERYONE needs to take a deep breath and act like adults around here. Don't we have more important things to spend out time debating?

I absolutely KNOW what you have said is true.

It is too bad that so much other bigotry that people live with gets so little attention,

Salem, please understand that we don't HATE Republicans. Truly. Republicans are our friends, co-workers, family members and most of all, fellow Americans.

We do believe that your Party has been taken over by ego-maniacs who have more interest in lining their own oil-rich pockets than representing you, their constituents, or the American people. We believe that your Republican leaders have distorted the intent of the Constitution in violation of our civil liberties.

Democrats and Republicans have many, many similar values. We are all Americans...who have not had the best of leaders lately.
