In yesterday's Birmingham Eccentric, Joe Knollenberg was quoted as saying:

"Skinner," he said, "not only hasn't lived in the state more than two years, moved here after
failing to win office in Illinois."

I've tried to send the following to the paper three times, but it keeps bouncing back to me:

"I'd like to correct your article in Sunday's paper regarding Nancy Skinner and Joe Knollenberg. Mr. Knollenberg is quoted as saying, "Skinner," he said, "not only hasn't lived in the state more than two years, moved here after failing to win office in Illinois." If your reporter or Mr. Knollenberg had checked the facts, they would have found that Nancy grew up in Royal Oak, attended The University of Michigan, and worked on the renovation of the Fox Theatre. She moved away for only a few years and then came back two years ago. Her father owned Putt Putt and was the coach at Seaholm for 10 years. Also, as far as her race in Illinois, she ran in the primary against Barak Obama -- need I say more?"

If they're going to quote someone, they should check their facts first and correct them in the article if they are blatant lies, such as this was. I've now tried to send the letter directly from my e-mail rather than through their web site. Let's see if it goes through this time.
