Another Republican Distortion

I am wondering if we should make a name for these distortions that keep popping up. Sure they are fear mongering and we know that is a Republican trademark. But while I would call them outright lies; would a objective Republican? Outright lies may be what they are, but for the sake of balance they must be more than a white lie, because there is nothing innocent about promoting  misinformation. Would we call it a fib? Perpetual disillusion? Misinformation and subterfuge? A crock of crapola? Anyone have any ideas? Lets look at one example.

While Senator Obama wants to initiate conversations with our enemies ( and friends), he has never said he is willing to negotiate with them. Open a dialogue yes, at the highest level, go the extra mile yes. Negotiate, of course comes from the famous JFK quote used so often. maybe it was not the best quote to use to illustrate the point. In retrospect it is powerful, but I still have never heard Barack spouting that he is going to blindly be open to NEGOTIATE, in fact, he has said many times that there would be analysis and lower level discussions before that happened. Nor would he do it lightly and it from my understanding this is not formal negotiations no matter how hard the Republicans want to distort his concept.

Negotiate with all the dictators of the world spins McCain, George W shakes his head as he says the same thing, like this is a rant of a lunatic. Republican pundits are echoing  the word negotiate with more and more frequency. However I have not heard one democratic pundit nor Barack himself make this important distinction. I guess honesty motored away the Swift Boat  that the hunchback of Phoenix is waterskiing behind.

There is a BIG difference between Negotiate and particularly without preconditions and a discussion over common interests.

Really it's the same thing I've wondered. Thier always should be an open dialog between countries. It's the way to save lives.

The Republicans could make
By Mike Barack Hussein Jun 8th 2008 at 9:49 pm EDT
giving food to a hungry baby look like it was something evil once they got through spinning it.

Obama is for using our intellectual capacities as heavily as our armed force capacities. Instead of rattling our swords, we keep them ready while seeing if there isn't some place where we might make inroads to a place where everyone is better off.

That goes beyond world politics, too, as I believe we shall see starting next year.
