Why is it as of late that people hate bipartisanship so much? I remember back at one of the debates Hillary was attacking Obama cause he supported a GOP plan...like it was something horrible...I've tonight seen someone question John Kerry's motives because he was approached by John McCain for the VP job in '04. And he have also heard republicans attack McCain for that same reason. So whats supposed to be so horrible about it? What we used to call working together, is now called backstabbing. Do yall really not want our politicians to work together? Congress moves slow enough already, let's not slow it down even more...

Outhouse vs. Whitehouse!
By Big Steve777 Mar 7th 2008 at 9:16 pm EST
People feel their ideals & opinions are the best & it is difficult to see things the other way when you've both made a bid for the same job.
Such is the case when W. Jr. had Sen. McCain over
to the Whitehouse for his Victory Luncheon. No steak, shrimp, veal, or anything like that. He had Hot DOGS for his lunch!I think he was paying him back for some old feelings from 2000 election!Yes, hot dogs are hot dogs White House or Outhouse it doesn't really matter where lunch is served.......

I'd rather have hot dogs than shrimp... I rather like McCain, even though he wanted to be on John Kerrys ticket (who I dont care for). He has a record of working with Democrats which I really like. But let a Democrat agree with a Republican..you would think the world was going to end. We need someone who is able to work with the other side and come up with plans so that both sides can get some of what they want..ya know, compromise, but our political system has become so polorized, being bipartisan is almost sinful nowadays it seems.

CROSSING THE AISLE
By YELLOWDOG IN TENNESSEE Mar 7th 2008 at 9:46 pm EST
I am a democrat but I believe that McCain out of the three we at present have to choose from has crossed the aisle more than any of them. I know Obama would like people to believe he is the only one who can work together but he has maybe put one tiny toe across the aisle.

McCain has scars to prove his bipartianship. I am not a McCain supporter but if Obama is the nominee and he thinks this will fly his way against McCain he better get something else. McCain has lost support in his own party for crossing the aisle.

I am a Hillary supporter and I feel she has crossed the aisle more than Obama if only because of her time in the senate but she know how to work towards getting things done.

There will be way more democrats and independents who will vote McCain if they are not satisfied with Obama or Hillary than will vote democrat against McCain.

Do I like that statistic? No, but it is the truth.
