the surge has reduced violence in Iraq-- BUT I thought our goal was to give the power back to the Iraqi government-- While we were "surging" they should have been working their asses off to get their shit together so we can withdraw-- but instead they took their summer recess... So we can surge 'till the cows come home but if they aren't willing to work at getting their government in check, military police in charge the SURGE is a FAILURE!!!

I think Obama handled him fine. He asked tough questions, but Obama came off as honest and affable.

I disagree with the surge points, but Obama is going to cede the ground and claim that the larger Iraq War is the mistake. That, after all, is much more important in this election.
