I think it is very ironic, all the things that are being said about Palin. She doesn't even know that Africa is a continent or which countries make uo North America. Unbelievable!!! Well, maybe not so unbelievable. Let's hope that she just fades into oblivion, out there on the frozen tundra. If she thinks that she even has a remote chance of running for President in 2012, she is even more stupid than we thought.

I disagree.
We should hope for princess Sarah to become the standard bearer for the Republican party.

She will further marginalize the Repubs by alienating their intellectuals and moderates.

Fox and talk radio are already painting themselves into a corner with their breathless support of their dear Sarah and they won't be able to back away because she represents EXACTLY their most profitable (passionate) audience.

It's truly delicious to watch Fox attack the 'media' for reporting how inadequate she was when the report came from Fox's own Carl Cameron who is quoting McCain staffers!!!

Glorious!

We know the Rovian Palin, but left to her own devices, Palin curiously positioned herself as a centrist. Still, she seemed to relish the divisive smear tactics, joe six pack rhetoric and empty posturing of populist fear baiting messages that provoke loathing among republican moderates, intellectuals and country club conservatives.

Is she too dumb to make nice with the other half of the republican party? Although she said some surprizingly stupid things, so did George W. With the right handlers that got along with her style, she could the figurehead mouthpiece of some future Dick (the real president) Cheney.

So be careful what you wish.

Watching the republican civil war will be interesting. There will likely be enough leaks that we will understand the stunning story of how McCain was morphed into a Rovian candidate. Perhaps McCain will be candid about his the process and his thinking.

In the great what-ifs: What if McCain did choose Lieberman, they did use the time after McCain got enough delegates to build strong organizations in Ohio, Florida, Nevada, IN, NM, PA, CO, VA, and NC. If the economic mess didn't hit the fan, it could have been a very different story.

There simply weren't moderate organizers that could have pulled it off. The only think they had was the Rovian foot soldiers, so that forced McCain to mold himself to their themes, rather than require them to adopt his.

It was a question of leadership and management skill, and it turned out that he was too much fly by the seat of his pants to stomach what was required to build such an organization.

What I meant to say in my opening sentence was "Palin positioned herself as a centrist in Alaska".

Take a look- I am not kidding. She adopted popular positions that both ends of the political spectrum supported. Oddly, Bush was also known as a bipartisan compromiser in Texas too,

She is just what the One Issue Voter is looking for. Remember some of the voters also don't no Africa is a continent. All she has to do is put on a good show and she could be hard to beat.
