I'm getting a little worried

I have seen several posts lately talking about our party being able to come together after this primary to stand behind our candidate. But I also am seeing several viscous attacks coming from both sides that seem to be escalating out of control. I know we are down to the wire and want to see our candidates win but let's stop tearing each other up in the process. We have our reason's for supporting our candidates and that's good but that doesn't negate other's reasons for supporting their candidate. In the end we are going to have to be able get behind the person who wins the nomination. If that's Hillary I know I'm going to really have to work hard at it since I have some real problems with her, but I'm going to make the effort if it comes to that. I'll need help from her supporters and don't want to alienate them in this process. Just as they may need us if Barack wins.

Let's discuss our differences, let's keep it civil, if someone's post rattles your nerves don't immediately fire off a heated response, take a little time, think about it try to see where they are coming from and don't assume the worst. Then craft your reply.

In the end, let's show those Republicans how things should be done.

could you be referring to one of your fellow

Obama supporter by any chance does this ring a bell?

By "FreedomOfSpeech" aka: DeeAnne Roberts
"You are such a retard. I can't wait till that fat , old witch conceds and drops out and takes those stupid skittle colored pantsuits with her. Cut and patse that one ya bed sore.
Ha Ha Ha
It's going to be real funny after March 4th when the fat Maggot and the idiots supporting her campaign finally concede to Change." END

Here is more from this shining example of a "Democrat" DeeAnne Roberts...She continuously and deliberately agitates in her comments....

By FreedomOfSpeech AKA DeeAnne Roberts
"Barack Obama is a scary secret Muslim who plans to destroy American from within who also won the Iowa Caucus.
Barack Obama is a Sexist Black Muslim who's cocky and arrogant who tied with Hillary in the number of delegates coming from the New Hampshire Primary.
Barack Obama is an inexperienced Black nieve fool who has no plans , only rhectoric but he won more delegates than Hillary in Nevada.
Barack Obama is a Black man just like Black Black Black Jessie Jackson who also ran for Black Black Black President with his Black Black Black self. Barack Obama won the South Carolina Primary with 90% of the Black Black Black Vote.
Barack Obama is still a Blackie Black man who won't make it past Feb 5th , but won the majority of Feb 5th States and came in very close in all other states besides what, New York?
Barack Obama is a secret Black Muslim , a Sexist , a talker who has no plans and can't win a state without the help of the Blackie Black Black vote , but won Nebraska and Washington as well as Louisiana and the Virgin Islands.
Barack Obama is a Black , scary secret Muslim who wants to destroy us all and yet, Maine , Washington D.C. , Maryland and Virgina still gave him the victory .
Barack Obama is a Black man who not only refuses to wear a flag pin , but refuses to debate Hillary in Wisconsin and plagerized his friends speechs about words and still Wisconsin and Hawaii voted overwhelmingly for him.
Barack Obama is a Black man who is a scary secret muslim who won't wear the flag and say the pledge and no matter how many times these lies get repeated , he keeps winning over and over and over and over again." End

This is who DeeAnne says she really is...
"I'm A Progressive (Independent) Like Russ Feingold. We're actually taking over the Democratic Party in case you didn't realize that. It's called "Crashing the Gates".
Ever heard of a website called Daily Kos ? (Chock Full Of Progressives). I'm sorry no one told you, but uh, yeah. We're here and we're taking this party over because we're sick of wussies running our country into the ground and party loyalist sheep who keep voting the wussies back into power.
That's why we're here. To stop the stupid voting habits of "lock step" Democrats who keep sending the same trash back to Washington just because it has a D on it's name. We're choosing the candidates now. Oh, and your welcome." End

That is not party building that is party bashing!

Proud to vote for Hillary Clinton

I have seen the attacks back and forth between many Obama supporters and Hillary supporters. I'm putting out the call for both sides to take a step back and consider what they are saying.

Stop it, Vidya. This is EXACTLY the type of crap Tim is talking about. You've posted this on enough blogs already....and the other side has posted enough horribe Clinton attacks.

Please - all of you - have the decency to respect a fellow Democrat's attempt at offering a hand to both sides. EACH candidate will need ALL of us to gain victory over McCain in November. That's the real fight. That's the war we need to win - not these schoolyard battles in the mud.

So much for that

It was a nice try, though, Tim. 5*s from me, despite it being hopeless.

I feel like I am in the twilight zone,, or in a closet with a dim bulb

Hey what do you get when you put a dim bulb in a closet?

Not enough enlightment.

Sorry tim, I do you know you mean well, I don't mean to poke you so hard in ribs, but really, this talk talk talk

With that attitude we will get nowhere.
Re: keeerist
By Timothy Erfourth Feb 27th 2008 at 10:39 am EST
I'm not picking sides here. I'm saying that we all need to consider what the other person is thinking and where they are coming from. Hillary supporters have some valid concerns about Obama, and Obama supporters have the same about Hillary. When this is over we are going to need one another to help us get over those concerns. And the current fighting and name calling is going to make that hard.
Re: keeerist
By Blueberry Feb 27th 2008 at 11:22 am EST
Exactly. Discussion and examination of policy, platform planks, past voting records - ALL up for grabs to distinguish one candidate from the other.

However, the personal/snotty/insulting attacks from supporters to each other and to the candidates side track the real discussions that need to happen.

Hey - that's the motto of the Democrats "unorganized and optimistic" - we excel at shooting ourselves in the foot.

No Fear
By c frederick Feb 27th 2008 at 10:22 am EST
Rhetoric rises everywhere in political campaigns. But it is rhetoric.

Once we have a candidate, we have one choice -- am I a democrat or am I a republican.

As much as you may have bought the rhetoric, there will be a lot more juice passed out in the general. McCain is already warming us up to Barack Hussein Obama. He'd better start getting used to that one in a hurry.

Swift boaters won't waste time apologizing.

They won't let Obama have the opportunity to be roasted, he's already kicked himself enough in the butt, already.

Proud to speak out for truth not hope.

Proud I don't act like a yinyang

Proud I can still live in a country where

I CAN STILL SAY SOMETHING UNFAVORABLE ABOUT OBAMA

Proud to vote for Hillary Clinton

I know and we have to stand united against them.
I would not worry,

Hillary has been tipping boats into her warship pretty steadily now, all those lost at sea have been welcomed.

It's OK for now
By Gerry Feb 28th 2008 at 6:43 pm EST
Timothy,
I agree with you on your point. I hope the candidates

can operate their campaigns without throwing too many grenades. I suppose it is fair for them to provide contrast on each others positions, but there is a line and they need to thing about the greater good. I think things can continue on like this a little while longer, but it needs to stop next Tuesday as we are getting closer and closer to the convention.

thanks Tim
