Well, it appears we are finally getting to the point of the election season where the BIG numbers start to come into play and no I'm not talking polls, I'm talking contributions.

Unfortunately, as so often the case, politics and the better man (or most certainly better woman) get shoved aside when every campaign declares their winnings (err, contributions) and the name of the game finally becomes the mighty dollar. That faint whisper all of you heard over the last few weeks was a couple bucks sneaking out of your wallet. That massive roar we all heard over the past couple of days was CNN, Fox News and the LA Times (amongst many others) finally (sarcastic sigh) finding a story worth printing (read: anything but the important stuff). Any comments? Oh, and please visit Barrack Obama '08 to contribute today!

Is this the reason why Jesus didn't put public campaign financing into his corruption bill?

Obamas Cash

Obamas money comes from people like me. I only donated 25% of the max. I will be giving more. Obama takes no cash from PAC's or Lobby Firms. The American people are behind his campaign. I don't know about the others though.

Edwards gets a lot of small donations also. I give a small recurring donation but right now I am on a tight budget. I wish I could give more. I don't like all this money, and I don't just say it because Edwards came in third. He still raised plenty of money to continue. I just think all the money poisons the system and should be eliminated somehow.

I should probably say that contributing to a campaign is not a problem. Major news corporations that make this an issue are the problem.
