except that the GOP would never have picked Palin for VP if Clinton was the nominee

They only picker Palin because Clinton did not win the nomination - that way they can continue to try to divide democrats.
We brought it upon ourselves, Clinton

again, Palin would not have been picked if Clinton was on the ticket - the only reason they picked Palin was to further divide Democrats over the Clinton issue.

I would have supported Clinton either as Prez or VP, but in the end i'm glad we went with Joe.

Clinton is great, but too many people conveniently dismiss the fact she will be in court defending herself against the Paul v. Clinton civil suit right around the time of the election. It would not be good to have one of our candidates in court during that time, so even thought i think Clinton would make a good choice I think it was smart for her to sit this one out - the negative publicity from her court testimony would only highlight her high "untrustworthy" ratings.... sad but valid.

(yes, before you mention it, there may not be any justification for the lawsuit, but its there and we need to deal with it as a legitimate issue...)

had Hillary been chosen

She would not have been debating Palin.

As far as I know: the VP's debate the Vp's and the Presidental nominees debate the other Presidential nominee.

I have no doubt that Joe Biden can and will tear Palin a new one.

Hillary is good at debates but Biden is superior. And if you ask why she was second and Biden dropped out after Iowa, then I have one answer: 1) Biden did not have the exposure on any of the debates that Clinton and Obama did. Clinton and Obama were designated by the mainstream media on day one as "tier one" candidates. That means #1 television exposure.

In a debate, give me Joe Biden any day. (not to say that Hillary, Obama and other Democrats don't have their good points too, but as far as debate: Give me Joe Biden any day.)

Hillary was the rightful pick.
Like it or not, it was HIlLARY that won 50% of the democratic vote.
Hillary filled the gaps in regions and groups that Obama has had problems with.

Palin may not have been the pick, but she is a hell of a fighter.

I was a volunteer for Hillary and I still follow her career, that said I totally disagree with your summation. Yes Hillary won a hard-fought 18 million votes, but she is doing all she can to send those votes to Obama/Biden. I believe the universe has better things in store for Hillary's future than for her to be saddled in the Vice Presidency. Palin is pathetic, she is no HRC, she is no Geraldine Ferarro and she certainly isn't of the calibre of Margaret Thatcher, to name a conservative lady who excelled in politics.

Came out sounding wrong, meant Hillary is a hell of a fighter.

A trained monkey could kick Palin's butt.

It would be an utter waste of Hillary's talent.

In fact, am guessing Biden is laughing at the prospect.

Agreed. Hillary will move on to better things, perhaps the Supreme Court.
