yes Hoyer looks like one of them
By Liz Jun 21st 2008 at 9:23 am EDT
Hoyer appears to be one of the democrats that Harry Truman would have called a "watered down republican". He is beginning to look more and more like a Joe Lieberman every day.

Hoyer has collaborated in drafting other pieces of legislation for Bush including the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act and now the FISA amendment to grant legal immunity to the telephone companies that took part in President Bush’s warrantless domestic spying program.

Is Hoyer a member of the DLC?

Why vote for Obama?
By Democrat in Springboro, OH Jun 21st 2008 at 10:08 am EDT
It is evident by this FISA vote from the Democratic representatives that "We the people" carry little to no influence in our political arena.

We voted the Republican majority out of the house and senate. But, the approval rating of the congress hasn't changed.

The Obama campaign has built a grass roots movement founded on change. However, all the evidence thus far from the Democratic leadership suggests that nothing will change.

There is evidence that the current administration has broken the law and like the corporate leaders of this world they will not be held accountable.

This FISA bill vote changes the law so, not only will they be unaccountable but, they will be innocent of any wrong doing.

So, why vote Obama as it will be more of the same. Obama is a Democrat and he is the presidential nominee for the party. Since he's acknowledged this fact everything the Democratic representative do is a direct indication of the values Mr. Obama will follow.

The Democratic leadership will define the difference between Obama and MaCain not the persons. This vote on the FISA bill is a vote for MaCain.

The Democratic leadership has a few months to distinguish itself from the Republicans and this administration. Your job is ever more daunting now that you've passed this bill.
