This is the Partybuilding Blog Site of The DNC, we all here are Democrats and with what is very truthfully minimal exceptions we all pretty much believe in the same thing.
My question is what purpose does fighting amongst ourselves serve?
I ask this question because we have real issues that need to be addressed in this country and it has to begin somewhere there are issues of equality for all people women, gays and lesbians all groups regardless of ethnicity .
There are issues of childcare, eldercare, healthcare, the protection of children from abuse and the protection of the elderly from abuse, stopping assaults on women, stopping assaults on gays and lesbians, stopping assaults on various groups regardless of their ethnicity or religion.
We still have an energy crisis which will only worsen and a failing economy supported by a dollar which is at an all time low against foreign currency.
We can not depend on the Republicans to address these issues for they either hate it or make money from it so it is not in their interest nor in their desire to correct these problems.
Fighting ourselves is not the way of things being a Democrat has never meant falling in lock step to be sure but we have never attacked each other either that is not our way and it is what separates us from Republicans just as surely as our ability to reason separates humans from lower species.
I would like you to think of a quote I used night before last “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” this quote is attributed to Edmund Burke but was also used by John F Kennedy a number of times.
Which brings me to say by attacking each other we are doing nothing and evil (the Republicans) will triumph in our disarray and confusion, just something to think about.

Nose, face... you know the drill. That's all it is.
At least, last time I tried the embed tag it didn't work.
It's probably for the better.
"the stakes are too high."
if some are raised in a home where both helpfulness and superiority are right, then, i start to be helpful-- but i end up, having to take superiority over you, metaphorically speaking. if want peace and love, watch a "Doors" video-- don't believe the little boogers who promise peace here.
People argue here from the head sometimes, but more often I think the heart is involved. And people want their ideas and their feelings to matter and to be heard.
I think it's just that - that's all.
Have a good Sunday.
Disagreements, discussions, debates are not necessarily considered "hate" by the majority of Americans, it was what laid the foundation for the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights.
You're right!
But...
IT IS IDIOTIC TO INSULT/ATTACK FELLOW BLOGGERS.
IT IS THE CAUSE OF DIVISION ON THIS SITE, AND HAS TAKEN AN INORDINATE AMOUNT OF TIME AND ENERGY TO REPAIR.
Live a life without personally attacking/insulting others and you live a real life. Each day is a new opportunity.
This leadership is totally unqualified for the task they were assigned and their total disregard and lack of judgment with the disenfranchisement of voters will be their fall.
The Democratic Party is not the Republican Party although that is how the powers that be have been running it lately.
We don't all agree on :
-- illegal immigration
-- faith-based government
-- x-FTA's
-- gun-control
-- military spending
-- social security
and probably a host of other devisive issue sub-points elsewhere.
That's why people keep arguing here. The Democratic platform needs to be revised.
Mr. Bill has not "BLINDLY" supported Obama.
I suggest you spend a couple a minute READING about someone before you assume who and what they support!
Geesh!!
Further those few things that do, in fact, separate us should be examined not as a source of rancor, but an indication that our Party does indeed have and welcome diversity of thought and an opportunity to represent the various beliefs in our polarized nation.
Thank you for your insightful note.
