About the Author
I personally believe that Hillary Clinton had not meant to insinuate anything between Obama and RFK's assassination. If anything, her comment was trying to link her with some of America's most popular Democrats. What her true objective was in making that comment is open for each of us to interpret on our own. However, given that her comments have been interpreted by some as they have been, there is no excuse for someone to joke about a possible assassination. On Sunday, Fox News' Liz Trotta was asked to comment on the statement made by Sen. Clinton. While most of her response was in defense of the New York Senator, she made one comment that should outrage all Democrats. http://www.youtube.com/v/BjYpkvcmog0&hl=en   Read More »

Hillary Supporter Pooh-Poohs the Mention of RFK’s Assassination
While DNC Continues to Slumber

In his Huffington Post article, “Clinton and RFK Deserve Better”, my good friend, Earl Ofari Hutchinson, Pooh-poohs Hillary Clinton’s mention of Robert Kennedy’s assassination in the context of this election, and all the while the DNC slumbers.

What is he suggesting , that she’s sleep deprived again? I think that’s getting kinda old, and I also think that it’s way past time for the DNC to come out of hibernation.

On May 11th while appearing on Meet The Press Hillary’s campaign chairman, Terry McAuliffe, made the same kind of statement to Tim Russert. He said that in order for Hillary to win the nomination “something big” would have to happen. Then Russett asked, “An act of God, or something catastrophic?”, and he said, “Yes, something big would have to happen"absolutely.”

Hillary’s behavior has betrayed her to be nothing less than America’s version of a Third World demagogue--a woman who is so desperate and hungry for power that the thought of seeing it slip through her fingers has caused her to slip into her own private realm of reality. Personally, I’m seriously concerned that she might have left the ranch and gone camping on us. So at this point it behooves us to take her every utterance dead seriously.

Hillary's latest "gaffe" has the underlying arrogant assumption that only something "bad" could only happen to Obama and not to her. Facts are that her campaign headquarters have been cleared out because of bomb threats no less than three times that I know of during this campaign.

It is just as likely that something "bad" could happen to her as could happen to Obama.  She has a very tarnished image with thousands of Americans.  Two and a half years ago in 2004 I saw an example of it in Barnes and Noble (a fairly mainstream book store, not exactly a hate site on the Internet) when I was shopping for Christmas presents.

On their shelves they were offering a package of voodoo spells and included in the package were two dolls:  One with an image Hillary and one with an image of George Bush.

I was surprised--first that a level of disapproval of Hillary was offered on the same par as that for George Bush and second of all that such a product was offered in a mainstream bookstore.

"Apologies notwithstanding, there are some things you just do not say in a Presidential campaign. It doesn’t matter how hard you work; how tired you are or what is on your mind. There are some things that demonstrate conclusively that the speech you are engaging in is in bad taste, is improper and at the best can be called poor judgment. The kind of poor judgment that indicates you are not really and truly qualified to be President of The United States.

Hillary Clinton said just such a thing today while in South Dakota, meeting with the Editorial Board of the Argus Leader newspaper, in advance of the June 2d primary in South Dakota. She was defending her position to stay in the race until June, possibly until the time of the convention, when she stated history was on her side as evidence of past nominating time periods not wrapping up until June, “My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary, somewhere in the middle of June, right?" Clinton said in an interview with the Argus Leader newspaper editorial board.

"We all remember, Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California, I don't understand it," Clinton said.

The remarks can be read to say that Mrs. Clinton is remaining in the race, just in case someone assassinates Barack Obama, and that history shows that it is possible to obtain the parties nomination as late as June for that reason . . ."

Not all people in Florida love Hillary as much as she would like for us to think.  Among those who don't, we can safely count the brilliant cartoonist, Chan Lowe and the Sun Sentinel who allow him to post cartoons like some of the following.  But then satirists have no friends so he is likely to have cartoons of Obama and McCain as well.  These happen to be three of my favorites.  Go to his site for more at:

Many Americans feel like Olberman about Hillary's latest "gaffee". They believe that she knew what she was saying and if she didn't--then either way she is not President material.  I believe that she knew exactly what she was doing.

Of all her distasteful remarks throughout this campaign, this one by far tops them all.  And like George Bush she doesn't apologize for what she has done.

Apparently there are some superdelegates who share the outrage of many Americans because five more endorsed Obama yesterday.  Now he is only 56 delegates away from the nomination and that could come over the weekend.

Here is the video on Olberman's outrage in case you missed it. Her excuse this time? Instead of crying sexism we have her unapologetic elitist dismissal implying that we misunderstood her.  "If I offended anyone". . .   No one misunderstood her and her lack of apology.  She is no misunderstood victim. She knew exactly what she did and it is straight out of an old Karl Rove playbook from the last century.

This party is at its cross-roads and its fate rest in your hands. Please put the nomination process out of its misery NOW! HRC latest gaffe is unfathomable and commands that we all corral around our front-runner as the country/congress did around [the dispictable] GWB at a time when the entire country was attacked. Please bring this entire horrid affair to conclusion.

Mr. C
Bobby's death hit me differently than Jack's. Jack's grace, intellect, wit, charm oozed a sort of invulnerability, although I never thought of it as such until November 22, 1963. Overwhelming shock and disbelief, the impossibility of it all. But Bobby always seemed vulnerable. His sensitivity to the less fortunate was so great, he wore it like a lead cape. Jack's eyes shone with brilliance, Bobby's belied a sadness and suffering, although not his own. He never had to say "I feel your pain": you'd have to be blind not to see and feel it. I always worried about Bobby, maybe because of Jack, maybe because of his sadness and vulnerability. So, when Hillary chose to bring back all that horror, I cried when the networks played and replayed his LA victory speech, the push of his forelock, thumbs-up, and "On to Chicago" last words. Nausea and chills, a sickness in the pit of my stomach. It's not the first time she has used Jack and Bobby's assassinations in her campaign rhetoric, only the most egregious. The campaign has become pathological and the superdelegates must put it out of its misery tomorrow, Saturday, not a moment later. Please, dear God, please. Save us all from further humiliation and degradation.

Here's a first. At least as far as we know. When Barack Obama has a big rally like the recent one in Fort Worth, not only is every audience member carefully screened for weapons or contraband, but they are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to wear anything with a HOOD! Apparently the possibility of an attempted assassination is very real and a clear camera view of everyone's face in the crowd is essential for security. It makes sense, but fashion-wise, who would have guessed that the sensible hood would someday become sinister?

The world of Pakistan politics can be venomous, savage and cruel. The death of Benazir Bhutto continues the brutal, poisonous trend in Pakistan’s malevolent political combat. Benazir Bhutto played this lethal game as well as anyone.

As the daughter of Pakistan Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto grew up in a family of wealthy Pakistan landowners who were among the political elite. Her father’s reputation is one of arrogant tyrant who tortured political opponents, rigged elections and lived in a world of political corruption. He was executed on the orders of General Zia after a trial much like the trials Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had inflicted on his opponents. Two of Benazir Bhutto’s brothers were known as international terrorists involved in the hijacking of civil aircraft in the 1980’s.

When she was Prime Minister, Benzair Bhutto attempted to control the press and the judiciary just as President Musharraf does today. The death of Benazir Bhutto did not mark the end of her venomous attacks on her opposition; in fact, Benazir Bhutto carefully planned to reach out from the grave to stab at her opponent President Musharraf. Benazir Bhutto had sent an email to CNN prior to her death which was to be read after her death. In that email, and former interviews, she accused President Musharraf in advance of being responsible for her death. Benazir Bhutto’s book will also reach out from her grave with the power of  a martyred author’s last words. Benazir Bhutto also left last instructions for her supporters and her party.

In a culture that prizes martyrdom, Benazir Bhutto not only used her role as a martyr well, but she also has played Pakistan’s ruthless political combat well. Many questions remain, not only about the circumstances of her death, but why the highly educated Condoleezza Rice supported sending Benasir Bhutto to her death. Surely the highly educated Condoleezza Rice and the ever-watchful CIA knew the dangers of Pakistan’s political environment better than this less-educated writer, yet Condoleezza Rice supported Benazir Bhutto’s return and her certain death. Given the history of the CIA, and given the Bush Administration’s failure to capture Osama bin Laden, one can not help but wonder if the return of Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan was a part of a greater CIA plot to remove President Musharraf because he had failed to provide enough assistance for the Bush Administration’s war on terrorism and because he had failed to bring forward democratic reform in Pakistan. Condoleezza Rice called Benazir Bhutto a “champion for democracy,” and also said, “The way to honor her memory is to continue the democratic process in Pakistan so that the democracy that she so hoped for can emerge.” Condoleezza Rice is clearly helping Benazir Bhutto reach out from the grave to stab at President Musharraf.
