The income and net worth lost did not evaporate. It was consolidated by the wealthy elite that Bernanke did not mention as the benefit that accompanies every cost. That is EXTREMELY irresponsible leadership. Extremely! Boot him out!
The fundamentals of our economy are almost completely lacking and it shows in the most salient way with an erosion of your income and your net worth. Yet the president says with confidence, "the economy is fundamentally sound."
This absurdity of power and the adminstration of power is nothing but the very clearest indicator that the executive is fundamentally unsound.
All of these fundamental problems require fundamental solutions.
If not, it gets more absurd. Remember, Hoover said people were selling apples on the corner because "they want to." It's beginning to get to that level of absurdity.
We don't have to tolerate this. Correcting this is your Constitutional Right, your Duty!

This is where The people get "royally" pumped! The benefit trickles up, the cost trickles down by determination of a highly alienated, macro policy closed to "the masses" and made visible only by its effects.
Free trade is fine as long as it is based on natural, comparative advantage. It is not!
The free trade agreements have been negotiated and applied to produce extreme economic and political inefficiencies that are fully intended consequences.
They are junk! They are not in the public interest!
Renegotiate these agreements to reflect the efficiencies of comparative economic advantages, not just to make a bunch of conceited, arrogant would-be supra-sovereigns rich.
McCain's rhetoric on this issue is entirely false and in no way engenders my respect. It earns my disrespect! Anyone that cannot recognize the extreme detriment to the vast majority of Americans free trade agreements intentionally produce is either inept or corrupt. In either case, any such person NEEDS to be denied access to power!
The result of our free trade agreements has been general inflation and what our chief economist, Bernanke, said today is dire economic straits going forward.
So we are to thank our elite for negotiating our dire straits for us. No Thanks!
Enough is enough of this kind of nonsense inefficiency and its proponents!
We need a pragmatic leadership of high moral intelligence, not corrupt and incapable!

Horizontal and vertical integration of financial entities with deregulation was not a measure for pluralism. It was integration of markets shammed as a competitive multiplicity of the marketplace through the deregulation of the financial sector. It allowed for consolidation that does not allow the "bigness" of a particular business to fail without dragging others down with it. That is not pluralism. That is consolidation and shifts the risk to the public debt; and who is identified as the debtor on that debt when the regressive quality of trickle-down economics is figured in?

John Zogby, Whom I have always considered the best pollster in America, has just released some new numbers. His electoral count is Obama 273 McCain 160 with 105 to close to call. of the 32 states he polled McCain only has a 10+ point lead in one state: Alabama. Obama has a 10 point lead in every Kerry State Except New Hampshire (3 Points) as well as in New Mexico. I strongly disagree with the going trend analysis that suggests what is different about this deflationary trend is that the job losses are jobs that will never return.
Elits that think it sophisticated to ship our resources and jobs overseas are in for a very rude awakening by means of their own device... monetarism.
The value of the dollar is measured by economic growth--productivity. That productivity, that value, is easily monetized.
Consolidated capital, trying to manage the retributive value, has very sopisticatedly rendered itself obsolete.
Hold on to those dollars, though. They are about to have more value than a consolidated capital could ever, or will ever, give and get.
