(LOS ANGELES, CA, 12/4/08) Following an action alert sent out yesterday by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Fox television network reported receiving an overwhelming positive response from community members about a recent episode of “The Simpsons” that challenged anti-Muslim stereotypes.

The episode, which aired Sunday evening and is titled "Mypods and Boomsticks," highlights anti-Muslim sentiment by featuring a young Muslim character named Bashir and his family who face prejudice after moving to Springfield. In the program, Homer Simpson wrongly suspects that Bashir's family is involved in a terror plot. Bart Simpson befriends Bashir and defends him from bullies.   Read More »

We have had 8 years of the Fox in the Henhouse and look where it has gotten us:  over a trillion dollars worth of  debt, lost world status, a further degraded environment, loss of millions of jobs, loss of over 8 thousand Americans (counting 9/11 and the Iraq War), etc.  How could anyone wish for more of that?

The truth about high gas prices begins and ends with the Republicans but true to their Rovian tactics, they are trying to turn one of their greatest defects into an asset with their newspeak that the high gas prices are somehow the fault of the Democrats.

We have to give the Republicans a double B for brass balls and pray that low information voters don't fall for it.  Who do you think is one of their main spokes people telling us that High gas prices are the fault of Democrats?  None other than T. Boone Pickens is  positioning himself at the forefront of the Republican energy debate.  LOL.

Pickens is an oil Fox if there ever was one. he is ranked by Forbes as the 117th richest person in America and ranked 369th in the world. Who do you think HE represents?  Pickens graduated from college and went straight to work for Phillips Petroleum.  Later he founded his own oil company, Mesa Petroleum.  He was the first oilman to grow his company by acquisitions rather than by just exploration. In 1997 Pickens founded BP Capital Management (then called BP Energy Fund). He holds a 46% interest in the company which runs two hedge funds, Capital Commodity and Capital Equity, both of which invest primarily in oil and natural gas.

Now please people, is an oil Fox like Pickens who has made his fortune in acquisitions going to advise us to tell oil comanies to explore on and use the already 60 million acres of public land leased to them by the government, or is he going to suggest more land acquistions with offshore drilling?  How stupid do we want to be?

For some, when you lay out a welcome matt they think it's an invitation to walk right over you and that's the strategy of the big red machine! Never before has a whisper campaign been created with such a prominent undercurrent than this year. It's all over the net. Somehow the misinformation and just plain lies have even made their way to my inbox from unwitting relatives and friends forwarding emails. Some of the claims are so ridiculous they're almost believable cause they're too far fetched to be made up! Some on our side laugh, but the Red Machine are hoping for just that as they secretly plot for a slight fragmentation of the Obama confederation to whittle away at his lead. And in those who are looking for an excuse not to vote for a man with a unique name and who is also of African American heritage, no counter measures will ever change the doubt in their minds. But others are not beyond reproach and the blue counter insurgency can, should and must reach out to them.

As Obama supporters we've rallied behind our candidate and are fighting the disinformation and lies. Following the last Presidential election we're ready for the challenge. However, we must remember that the other side are infectious termites and as such eat away at our foundation. I learned long ago that as with termites it's not a question of; "Is this house infected?" but how badly is it infected. Therefore we must not rest for the enemy never sleeps.

And aiding in their campaign to dissenfranchise Democratic voters and Republicans leaning blue on the net, Fox has begun a dissinformation campaign of it's own. A few of their 'Oops, sorry' but now the seed is planted gaffs have included, a paid FOX commentator accidentally confuseing "Obama" with "Osama" and then joking on the air about killing Obama, a FOX anchor saying a playful fist pound by Barack and Michelle Obama could be a "terrorist fist jab." And lastly (for the moment) on air talent calling Michelle Obama "Obama's baby mama" which is ghetto slang used to describe the unmarried mother of a man's child.

If we hope to keep this a campaign of issues and not insinuations we must all stand vigilant and active. Exercising your right to vote is not enough when the stakes are this high. Tell a friend to tell a friend and help light the fire of change and seat our man in Washington!

In a small but portentious victory for progressive online activists, FoxNews host E.D. Hill was forced to apologize today for her suggestion Friday (June 6) that Barack and Michelle Obama's now-famous knuckle bump might be some sort of "terrorist fist jab." After the remark was reported the same day by progressive media watchdog group Media Matters, which also encouraged readers to sign an online petition and e-mail Fox in protest, the story spread quickly through the blogosphere, finally catching the attention of the mainstream media. Today, Fox bowed to the pressure and Hill was forced to issue a half-hearted apology. Today also, Fox announced that Hill's show, America's Pulse, would be cancelled, though it is unclear whether this additional development is connected to her "terrorist fist jab" remark (I like to think it is). In any case, the fact that Fox and Hill were forced to issue an embarrassing apology, in addition to the possibility that her remark may even have resulted in the loss of her show, is a great statement on the power of progressive online media activists, bloggers, and YouTubers. While Hill's is a minor case, don't forget that former Republican senator George "Macaca" Allen of Virginia was brought down in 2006 by one guy with a video camera and an internet connection. Today Allen's seat is held by a Democrat. This election year, online activists will again play a crucial role in fighting the Republican slime machine, including its paid shills at Fox.

As Media Matters reports, FoxNews host E.D. Hill teased an upcoming discussion of political body language on the June 6 edition of her show, America's Pulse, by offering the following on Barack and Michelle Obama's now-famous knuckle bump: "A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems to interpret differently." In the ensuing discussion with Janine Driver, introduced by Hill as a body language expert, Hill again referred to the "Michelle and Barack Obama fist bump or fist pound," adding that "people call it all sorts of things" (though I know of no one else who has called it a "terrorist fist jab"). Further revealing her vast ignorance, Hill went on to ask Driver: "Is that sort of a signal that young people get?" At no point during the discussion did Hill explain her earlier reference to a "terrorist fist jab" (see video). Given the complete lack of any basis whatsoever on which to make such a suggestion, it could only have been a clumsy attempt to plant suspicion of Obama in the minds of her viewers. Meanwhile, as Media Matters further reports, Fox host John Gibson insulted a black caller on his June 6 radio show as follows: "You don't know what Barack Obama stands for. You just like him because he's... like you and you want to see one of you up there, and you don't care what he stands for" (hear audio). As Media Matters observes, this is not the first time Gibson has insulted a black caller on the subject of Barack Obama. On April 9, Gibson told a caller: "You're sticking with Obama, because he's... a brother.... He is lying to your face but he knows you are so... you so identify with him on the basis of race, you will not even see the lies." These are desperate tactics, loser's tactics, but I suspect we'll see a lot more of the same between now and November 4.

I personally believe that Hillary Clinton had not meant to insinuate anything between Obama and RFK's assassination. If anything, her comment was trying to link her with some of America's most popular Democrats. What her true objective was in making that comment is open for each of us to interpret on our own. However, given that her comments have been interpreted by some as they have been, there is no excuse for someone to joke about a possible assassination. On Sunday, Fox News' Liz Trotta was asked to comment on the statement made by Sen. Clinton. While most of her response was in defense of the New York Senator, she made one comment that should outrage all Democrats. http://www.youtube.com/v/BjYpkvcmog0&hl=en   Read More »

As I’ve mentioned more than once, mainstream media contains nothing more than the propaganda and directives that the upper 5% want us to believe.  (Yes, for those of you who still don’t get it:  that includes many more channels than just FOX News.  That’s part of their game.  They make one media channel so blatantly awful that the others by comparison seem reasonable.

None of them are any more than propaganda outlets for the rich and ruling class of this country.)Once again this is a list of the owners of mainstream media in this country.  The American people have two choices:   You go on and be a fool and believe that these people represent you or you can understand the source for their propaganda and take their “opinions” and half-truths with a huge grain of salt.

More and more I am coming to understand that our political party system mirrors the trickery of FOX News and the other “reasonable” channels such as CNN.  We have the democrats who represent “the people” and we have the Republicans who represent the rich and those with conservative values.   Read More »

CNBC's Faber: News Corp. to Succeed In Buying Dow Jones

I saw a round table debate on a certain tabloid news network and saw people complaining that they were being under cultural assault by Latin Americans. I was really offended, because I had always thought that the American melting pot was conceived on the concept of everyone bringing the richest parts of their culture to contribute to the mix. Keep in mind, that I respect all cultures, and this is just a post to repulse the attacks made by these people on Latin Americans. I'd do the same for anyone.

THIS IS NOT A POST ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. IF YOU ARE GOING TO WHINE IN MY COMMENTS ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND DON'T. IF YOU WANT TO DEBATE ME ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, LOOK AT MY POST ABOUT LOU DOBBS. And if you comment on that, read the whole thing, because people just argued with me by repeating what I said last time.

I was watching the Republicans debate the other night, at congressman Tom Tancredo's stance on immigration prompted me to write this SATIRE piece:

DAMN YOU LATIN AMERICANS!

Pouring across our borders and over our shores the way you do! Who do you think you are? I'll have you know that I watch Lou Dobbs, and he says you all have leprousy, and that you are all working for coke lords. I don't want you near my kids, that's for sure. Come to think of it, I'm going to lump the illegal ones that are trying to get in with terrorists, and use that as part of my reasoning to build a wall to keep you out.

I can't believe the assault you're committing against our proud American culture! It was descendants of pilgrims who built this land! You and your delicious food which is on every corner, your salsa clubs which dot the metropolitan areas of our major cities, and your numerous women that provide the backbone for MAXIM magazine! I just can't take it!

Damn you Eva Longoria, Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lopez, Soledad O'Brien, Cameron Diaz, and Gloria Estefan! You are making it very difficult to lump you into the stereotype of unattractive laboring cleaning ladies! I hate that! Why must you be the fire that ignites my loins?! I'm trying to keep my ra- *COUGH* culture pure! Why must you tempt me with your feminine wiles!?

While I'm at it, damn the men as well! You and your contributions to American history. You know, it is becoming much harder to suppress the impact you've had on the history of the United States, what with the interet and all. Every day I have to listen about and watch people like General Franciso DeMiranda, the American Revolutionary War Hero that was offered a chance at the American Presidency, or George Lopez the hilarious comdedian, or 6 Weight-Division boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya. Not to mention astronaut Joseph M. Acaba, civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, miliatry genius Ricardo E. Cavazos, and brillian guitarist Carlos Santana. Ugh, where am I going to develop my undeserved sense of superiority if I know that there were many men like these who contributed so much to the path of American history?! You just make sure to stay away from my daughters, you hear? If she ever brings you to my house, just tell me that you're Italian and we'll get along just fine.

I know what I can do! I can LIE about these people! Yes! That's it! I can say that they are pouring across the border by the legions bringing their leprosy and cocaine with them. I mean, if I can lump in every person who is brown with the few bad people who make everyone else look bad, then I can have my confidence back without ever having to really work or compete with them. That is an excellent idea. I'll call Lou Dobbs. He'll say pretty much anything to make Latin Americans look bad. Or better yet, I'll run to talk to Pat Buchanan. Love that guy. He ran for president on the platform of "WHO WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE COME OVER HERE?! ONE HUNDRED ENGLISHMEN OR ONE HUNDRED MEXICANS?!" I mean, technically it doesnt really make a difference between the British and the Mexicans so long as they are morally sound and hard-working, but we can't let the general public know that.

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't call anyone. Maybe it really isn't worth the effort to hate people you don't know. Maybe it's more worth the effort to try to get to know the history of these people before I start to say that I'm under cultural assault by them. When I start to understand them better, I actually seem to like them more... Even if I have to be the first one to lend out a hand of friendship.   Read More »
