EVEN WITH LIPSTICK AND A HAT, IT IS STILL FOUR MORE YEARS OF THE SAME.  Palin does not change one single thing of what the Republicans are offering which is four more years of  George Bush.  All that McCain did was to put lipstick on the Pig (the Bush Administration whose failed strategies have wrecked our nation).  Nothing has changed except for an exciting and sexy dash of lipstick to freshen up their tired old face of more of the same.

The same people who do not like the Bush Administration for what it has done to this nation are not going to be fooled by the lipstick on the pig.  And if they think that the American public are so stupid that they will rush over now and kiss their pig of a platform because it is wearing a fresh touch of lipstick, well I think they will be surprised. Economically, the majority of Americans are at the breaking point. Most American families literally cannot stand another four more years of the same.

I was not in love with Barak Obama. I did love his speech 4 years ago and thought to myself, one day he would make a great president, but, at the time, I never dreamed it would be this year, this time, this election, not against my Hillary!

Yes, I love Hillary Clinton. I love Bill Clinton. I do not care that he got a blow job in the White House. I do hate he lied about it. He should've just said, "Yes, I got a blow job in the hall off the Oval Office, so what!!", then no one could have said a damn thing about it, but Hillary. of course.

Some said Hillary stayed because she loved the power, not me, I say she stayed because she loved the man. I read her book. I read his book. One thing I say and I believe with all my heart, those two love one another and, it seems, they have since they met in college...since they started that conversation that hasn't ended.

When Big Bush left office there was a HUGE deficit, when Bill left office we had a surplus, now with Little Bush leaving office we have a HUGE deficit with no end in site. I think Hillary could have gone a long way in helping get that under control again. I believe she stands for the common man the way Bill did. The little people, the way the old democrats did. Seems the Bush Administration has broken the backs of the working middle class and the rich have only gotten richer the past 8 years while the country has gone in the hole.

The changes Bush has made in his environmental policies/clean air acts have gone backwards 20 years and only 1 animal has gone on the endangered species list, the polar bear, after Bush finally admitted there may be such a thing as "global warming". DOH!   Read More »

Yep. And it's amazing that there are still some people out there who 1) believe that McCain and/or a Republican knows how to manage the economy and/or 2) who plan to vote for McCain because their chosen candidate is not the presumed nominee.

Here are several posts and links on the topic of failed banks that I have posted previously on this site.

I am watching Race to the White House with David Gregory

I find it hilarious that the mainstream neocon pundit twerps like Gregory are trying to put Obama in their little Republican "what if" boxes.

Example:  "What if General Petraeous advises that  Obama keep the troops on the ground longer than 16 months? Is he going against that advice?"

LOL Two-faced SOBS.  Here is the exact reply that I would LOVE to hear Obama and/or one of his surrogates make:

"Considering his history, in that George Bush (military expert that he is) fired no less than five generals who dared to disagree with him, and kept looking until he found Petraeous who would say  'yes', here is what I would do.  On my second day in office I would fire Petraeous and I would rehire one of the real and qualified generals or admirals like Fallon and get their opinions."

There are many people here, myself included, who don't like Bush any better than the majority of the rest of the world.

You can even count many Methodists among them.  In May of this year the Methodists rejected the SMU Bush Presidential Libray 844-20.

This rejection passed on Wednesday morning,
30-April-08, at the quadrennial General Conference of
the United Methodist Church that met in
Fort Worth, Texas.

This body is the highest authority of the denomination
and cannot be over-ruled by any other body within the
denomination.

Perhaps George is going to have to go on down to Crawford and install his library on his own private property--or perhaps Babs and Daddy can provide the property in Maine.  After all the Bush family were just carpet baggers anyway who came to Texas for the purpose of furthering their political and oil interests.

In this week's New Yorker, Jeffrey Toobin had an excellent article titled "In McCain's Court.  I recommend it.

McCain continues to fly under the radar of the American people--and that is just what the Republicans love--which explains why we now have so many Republican trolls on this site.  As long as we don't support the rules of our own party and they can keep us stirred up, that gives McCain more time to gather his support.  But fortunately they are so far out in the wilderness with the American people that, unlike Moses, they won't even be able to return after forty years. Regardless, when we finally nominate, even if it is a Democratic refrigerator, it will win.

Toobin pointed out in his article that McCain made his announcement about the future of the American judiciary on May 6, a day when we were all preoccupied with the Democratic primaries in Indiana and North Carolina.

According to Toobin, and I agree:  McCain plans to continue, and perhaps even accelerate, George W. Bush’s conservative counter-revolution at the Supreme Court.

The Republicans heralded the "genius" of Karl Rove for almost 8 long years, but you don't hear so much praise about him these days.

Chambers in a recent article in the New Yorker pointed out that Rove's declared ambition to create a "permanent majority" appeared to be a vision of tactical genius. However, as Chambers pointed out, it was built on two illusions: that the conservative era would stretch on indefinitely and that politics matters more than governing.

The first illusion defied history; the second was blown up in Iraq and drowned in New Orleans.

The Republican Party and its conservatism are dead. Democrats who try to walk the middle line of "moderate" are playing with fire as well. The battle cry of the people is change--and not change that is offered up to us as a pacifier like McCain's summer gas tax but real deep and lasting change regarding how business is done in Washington DC.

This is the year, not that "Mr. Smith" goes to DC, but the year that the American people go to DC. And we will replace those 35,000 lobbyists with 304,000,000+ Americans. So move over lobbyists and goodbye Republicans.

And just in case anyone has forgotten how horrible Republicans can be, please read this article about the 110 Congress---THE WORST REPUBLICAN CONGRESS EVER. This is what they act like when they have absolute power. It was a time when "a hairy-necked, raincoat-clad freak like Rep. Mark Foley could get himself named co-chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children."

The 110th Republican Congress was enough to make Caligula shudder. Remember it because that is an example of how despicable that Republicans can get.

Even the most prominent archaeologists would have difficulty unearthing a legacy of the Bush presidency. But if there is one, then it's that the past seven years collectively have united the nation on one front: outright dissatisfaction with the Bush administration. Mr. Bush's approval rating has lingered near an embarrassingly low 30 percent--a sign proving that even his own party is turning against him. The unprecedented turnout at the polls in both parties this primary season reflects a growing sentiment to veer sharply from the Bush years.
Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, the two Democratic presidential candidates, present themselves as antitheses of Mr. Bush's foreign policy. Mr. Bush proceeded relentlessly to raise troop levels--the surge--at a time when the Iraq war was already highly unpopular. The two presidential hopefuls' pledges to remove troops from Iraq have been repeated over and over again ever since they announced their candidacies.
Alone, Obama and Clinton representing historic prospects underscores this country's readiness, at least on the Democratic side, for a dramatic shift, one that would undoubtedly sweep an eraser over President Bush's White House chalkboard.
The remarkably close Democratic race is less a conflict over policy--in fact, pundits assert that their views on key issues are very similar--than it is over which Senator gives the party a better chance to win the White House and overhaul the unrelenting policies Bush implemented during his tenure.
Equally as interesting, even the Republican primaries show the electorate's wish to see a leader markedly different from George Bush. With the presumptive nomination of John McCain, voters have selected a candidate who stands farther to the center than any of his opponents for the party's nomination. His stance on immigration deviates from the traditional conservative view. As a Senator, he voted against the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Only as he faces the pressure of ideological conformity is he now saying he favors tax reductions. McCain was the party's choice because of his potential as a commander-in-chief, his candor--he was dubbed the Straight Talk Express--and admirable courage in war, among other things. While McCain's favoring continuance of American involvement in Iraq does perpetuate a Bush theme, its appeal to the public stems from his military experience, an asset that by far separates him from Mr. Bush.
Mike Huckabee's advocacy of economic populism, usually a liberal's centerpiece to a campaign, served to add another appealing attribute to his Evangelical Christian-based platform and evidently resonated with voters in the South. Although a McCain victory was more and more inevitable, the Huckabee persevered and has certainly built credentials for possibly becoming Mr. McCain's running mate this fall.
Just as tellingly, Republican primary voters rejected Mitt Romney, the top choice of staunch conservatives. A platform of both social and economic conservatism perhaps led voters to reason Romney would seem too reminiscent of the Bush days. His defeat has yielded outrage from the right-winged media, notably radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
It will be interesting to see how Democratic political geniuses gear their negative advertising campaigns in the run-up to the fall contest. If they exploit President Bush's ineptitude and use that to explain why a new party should step into office, then any attempt by McCain's camp to retaliate could take an appearance of defending Bush's extreme conservatism. And if Mr. McCain is put into the position of having to woo independents, then he could have trouble getting the most adamant right-wingers to the polls on election day.
Whoever may assume the presidency, he or she will be rushed by calls to deviate as profoundly as possible from the Bush administration. Restoring this nation's reputation looms formidable--both at home and abroad--as a tide of economic insecurity sweeps through the middle class, and in a time of hot debate over whether the plan to increase troop levels in Iraq is working. Taken together, this illuminates why campaigns stressing hope (Obama), experience and trustworthiness (Clinton), and openness and admiration (McCain) are clicking with voters this election cycle.

Bush Bites:

"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," said Bush, in what White House aides privately acknowledged was a reference to calls by Obama and other Democrats for the U.S. president to sit down for talks with leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said in remarks to the Israeli Knesset. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American Senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

Obama Bites Back :

"It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 6Oth anniversary of Israel's independence to launch a false political attack. It is time to turn the page on eight years of policies that have strengthened Iran and failed to secure America or our ally Israel."

"Instead of tough talk and no action, we need to do what Kennedy, Nixon and Reagan did and use all elements of American power -- including tough, principled, and direct diplomacy -- to pressure countries like Iran and Syria. George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the President's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."

If you are a real Democrat, this should make you ready for real change—not a phony watered down Republican version of change but real solid Democratic grassroots change. If you are a real democrat, this should make you think twice about a candidate whose husband has taken $800,000 from a government who condones death squads to murder people who even try to start unions.

For five years the Aviation Transportation and Security Act has given Bush the authority to bar screeners from exercising collective bargaining rights that are granted to other federal employees.  And how does management treat workers who have no union protection?  Well the screeners like other non-union workers for corporations like Wal-Mart can be forced to work without prior notice.  They can face retaliation for complaining.  They can have their shifts arbitrarily changed, and in general they can be harassed any way that management feels like harassing them with impunity.

I cant help but wonder if he even passed his first Initiation. Can he even read the Masonic Oath? Who knows for sure.

From the ashes of the 2000 elections, when brimstone met fire for a straight month of indecision and four letter words, there rose a man who while others thought was defeated, became lord and king of America.
We drooped under the defeat of our candidate; our Democrat, but he stood tall. When the system defeated him, he told the system to *&@% off.

Eight years later, as we face an election that will likely parallel the insanity of 2000, Al Gore has been vindicated. While the White House is still home to the victor of that battle, what more could the defeated ask than his adversary be the biggest presidential failure since our country's founding? Gore didn't have to raise a limb. Simply breathing and living has raised him to paramount standings in the eye of those who checked his name, and even, many who did not.

But, of course, simply living and breathing and not being George Bush doesn't make one royalty, no; Al Gore, the King of America, didn't fall to the hooves of defeat. When our troops were entered in to a false war, the King spoke against the actions of the Bush Doctrine, warning our actions would potentially harm our relationship with other countries. While everyone else sat on their hands while the people of New Orleans watched their city fell to mother nature, the King chartered his royal charter planes to evacuate as many survivors as possible. King Gore started a television station, Current, promoting progressive thought and creativity of young people. Through this forum, he fully endorsed same sex marriage, and laid down the best kick-in-the-hypocracy statement ever filmed: "Shouldn't we be promoting the kind of faithfulness and loyalty to one's partner regardless of sexual orientation? Because if you don't do that, then to that extent you're promoting promiscuity, and you're promoting all the problems that can result from promiscuity. The loyalty and love that two people feel for one another when they fall in love ought to be celebrated and encouraged and shouldn't be prevented by any form of discrimination in the law.

He sits on the board of directors for giganto-companies Google and Apple. When the false war continued beyond expectations, King Gore spoke out against warrantless wiretapping and stood up for Americans, saying the treatment of Arabs post 911 was not condoned by the population.

Our Royal Highness has authored two books, The Assault on Reason", and "An Inconvenient Truth", both which spent time at #1 on the Best Seller List and have sold hundreds of millions of copies.

And yes, he's a damn environmentalist. That key to the front door? Seems to help with getting shit done. In the years following his election loss, Gore was awarded over 13 prestigious honors and awards with regards to his work in the Climate Crisis battle. These aren't your mom and pop store trophies, either. He's got the big ones; an Emmy, an Oscar, and the &$*@ing Nobel Peace Prize. If you didn't see it you've heard of it; his movie production "An Inconvenient Truth: was the single most controversial and fire-igniting documentary in American history. Why did he take home that Nobel? Because you've heard of this movie. King Gore either made you a believer or a non-believer in global warming, a hater or a lover, but he made you believe something. And it's not likely you'll forget.

Now King Gore is being drafted. His faithful minions, a.k.a. America, is begging him to return to the glory at Capitol Hill. In an election which includes a powerful, experienced woman and a black man who speaks truly and wholeheartedly for change and progression, people are begging him to run for president. He's everything we want in our leader. And that's why he'll never be.

He's standing alone, in his kingdom, reigning over the future of America, as a powerful player with no strings attached. No lobbies, no elections, no donors, no special interests. He says whatever the hell he wants and when he wants. He's making it happen.

His body is turned, but he faces the other direction just for a moment, snickering at the pile of politicians on the floor, screaming and yelling and lying only to get nothing done. For a loser, he sure *#&@ing rocks. Maybe someday, they'll get it too.

I wrote this song while campaigning with the grassroots group United for Obama. We created a video from the footage of the campaing, please watch and if you like it, share it, specially in the states that have yet to vote! It's in Spanish with English subtitles:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ky8Hvq-F0U

Like many I've felt disfranchised for many years because I saw too many politicians playing games and not backing their promises with actions. In Barack Obama I found a leader that didn't bow down to corporate powers and who fought for what was right no matter what his audience was. He spoke of cutting gas emissions to automakers and spoke to the African-American community of the importance of ending discrimination but not only against them, but also by some of them, the discrimination against immigrants, the Jewish people or gays and lesbians. This struck a chord with me. We must fight discrimination of all kinds, not because it is personally convenient, but because it is the right thing to do. Because all of us as a society will be better off if we truly embrace equality and justice for all. Here is a man who not only offered a compassionate and effective way to offer healthcare to all but who also stood firm from the beginning against this despicable war when the position was unpopular.

I've heard people criticize him because he's a great speaker. They are really desperate if their attempt is put down his ability to energize people of all ages, genders and races to become active in the democratic process. What they are trying to ignore is the fact that we are not only responding to his eloquence, but also to the truth of his message. It is a message of a more balanced engagement with world, of an economy that is not rigged to benefit the few, a message of tolerance and progress.

It is this message that has awaken me, and so many of our young, from our long political slumber. It is this renewed enthusiasm that fuels this vast movement, and it is the plurality, the diversity of this movement which inspired me to write this song.

The lyrics were thoughts that have been growing within me, and I'm sure, many others, and as Barack galvanized our intentions, this campaign focused my thoughts into this words that came out in a matter of hours.

We recorded quickly and it is thanks to Eric Byler, Warren Fu, Loni Pham and Annabel Park that you are able to see the finished product so immediately after the fact.

It was a labor of deep-rooted conviction, born of a desire not to acerbate antagonism, but to help, in however small measure, to unite those of us who have been waiting for so long for a moment in which to step up and take charge in the betterment of this world. That's right, we can improve this world. It is not an impossibility. We can do it. Yes we can.

And the carnage still going.........! Thank to the inaction and action of some politician who are playing with live of this brave americans. Madame Pelosi, there is the consequence of your lack of leadership. Senator Reid there is the consequences of your lack of leadership. =================================================

Plutocracy: the disproportionate influence the wealthy have on the political process in contemporary society. (source)

I was born in 1976 and since that time we have had a Father (George Bush Sr. 1989-1995), Son (George W. Bush 2001-Present), Husband (Bill Clinton 1995-2001) and the possibility of a Wife (Hilary Clinton) holding the top position, President of the United States!

With a current US population of 300+ million citizens, based off numbers alone...the odds of becoming the President is 10 million to 1 at best. Now just imagine the real odds of a Father/Son and Husband/Wife occuring in a true democracy!

I tell people just to take a moment to let that tumble around in their heads...response...UMMMM...UMMMM! Exactly...The only way this can happen is if the system is set to do so intentionally.

The obvious usually gets overlooked! There are many groups that contribute and participate with endless funds to make sure this all looks like a true democracy. In reality, the way this country is ran is more like a company in Bizzaro Land, where instead of the company paying it's employees wages, the employees pay the company a fee for working for them.

You and I will never be able to visit Bizzaro Land, because the only way of getting an admission ticket is by getting a tap on the shoulder and someone saying into your ear the secret question...and if you don't know the answer, no admission! You may ask...Who actually live in Bizzaro Land...Well four citizens pictures are posted above and you may be able to guess a few more!

This is how our country is really ran! Because their distractionary tactics are very convincing and they have the ability to reach and every citizen through different forms of media...it isn't hard to smoke and mirror reality!

I am one to say...don't complain to me unless you bring at least one solution to the problem!

Here is my one solution/suggestion...Take the time to really think about What is going on? Then ask yourself, Why is this going on? Finally, How is this all going on and me not knowing it is going on?

With all the issues going on in this country it is hard to find the tie-ins....that is why I always break it down to the image posted above...If it smells like crap...tastes like crap...then it must be crap! If we are living in a Democracy...Then democracy isn't the answer!

We as citizens need to re-establish GOOD GOVERNMENT. Actually ran by all classifications of citizens who are actually elected by the citizens. Establish basic human rights and equalities...Food, Shelter, Education and Health Care. Still have an economy where people can succed and be an enterpenure and gain weath.

Please take the time to think about the basics, ask the hard questions, and face reality...Then open your mind and share your ideas and comments.

Thanks
Citizen Rye

HEY SEN. "BUSH"-STEIN !!!

CALI DON'T PLAY THAT BACKSTABBING GAME:

Snip:

One day after voting to elevate a divisive conservative judge to the federal appeals court in New Orleans, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein was the president's guest aboard Air Force One. She had been invited to survey the damage from the recent spate of Southern California wildfires.

The senator later remarked privately that she found her conversation with Bush aboard Air Force One "illuminating," a source close to Feinstein told the Huffington Post.

Now, a coalition of progressive Democrats upset with Feinstein's controversial votes will ask the California Democratic Party to censure her at its executive board meeting this weekend, the Huffington Post has learned.

The move comes as Feinstein again finds herself under fire for saying Thursday that she now supports granting legal immunity to telecom companies that shared customer email and phone messages with the federal government as part of the warrantless surveillance program.

"Dianne Feinstein does not listen to the people of California," said Rick Jacobs, president of the Courage Campaign, a progressive organization in California. "She supports George Bush's agenda time after time."

Feinstein's office did not respond to messages seeking comment.

(copy of censure can be located in extended along with source)
