As some of you may know, Barack Obama's grandmother passed away the other day. Our thoughts and wishes go out to the Obama family, because Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham will not live to see her grandson elected.
I address you today during the aftermath of this election day.
And what a historic election this was!
Because yesterday the unprecedented has occurred- the first African American in our nation’s history will be elected into the White House.
Barack Obama will be able to focus his efforts on some of the main themes I would like to fix.
Because he has been elected, we have finally grasped what we need, to fulfill new change and hope in our great country.
*******************************************************************
Yesterday, my friends- was a day of change.
A day of hope.
A day of renewal.
Yesterday, we celebrated our democratic roots from the Greeks, and our Revolutionary belief in patriotism and activism in government.
Yesterday, we finally fulfilled our long-standing creed: “We hold these trughts to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”
‘Yes we Can’ has transformed- into ‘Yes we Did.’
****************************************************************
Yesterday, all the voters, from California to Connecticut; Salem, Oregon, to Salem Massachusetts; from Montana to Mississippi decided.
We decided to make not only the right decision, but to vote.
This election, over 21 months, or even 232 years in the making, has absorbed unprecedented enthusiasm and action.
I guarantee you that this election has shattered boundaries, redrawn a map of people, restored faith and dignity to American government and politics, and encouraged action.
The real winners of this election were the people- who have chosen to reprent ourselves with Barack Obama.
With this movement- the first African american president has been elected.
With this movement- a Hispanic can become president.
With this movement- a women, a jew, a mormon, a gay person, a muslim, or anyone else can become president.
This movement has shook the foundations of american politics, has shattered almost every precedent imaginable, led only by three words- ‘Yes We Can.’
Yes we Did.
Fellow Americans,

These last few days have been very monumental for the Larkin 2032 campaign.

We have recently been endorsed by a (now-former) candidate, Nicholas Wentworth, who has dropped out of the race for personal faith-based reasons. In his final address as a candidate, he has asked his supporters also to endorse me. Let me say today: I will fully accept them as supporters.

We accept your support, Nick, and hope that you accept an active role in the campaign. With your help, the Larkin Campaign will continue to fight for the 2032 Presidential role, and ultimately, triumph, with the decision of the voters.

In other news, we have begun to contact other elected officials for advice. Including several who are interested in helping the campaign in the future, though we won’t release their names until everything is settled (it’s the professional thing to do). We know that if we get involved with the government right now, we will be in a perfect position later on.

Please take an opportunity to welcome Nicholas to the Campaign, as the newest member.

Sincerely,
Zachary D. Larkin

For those of you who probably don't know this: I'm Jewish. On August 30th, 2008, this Saturday, I will lead the congregation, read the Torah, and become a "Son of the Commandment"- A Bar Mitzvah. It won't be easy. By no means. Throughout these past eight months, I've been working my legs off in order to chant a page of verse in Biblical Hebrew and learn every single prayer. Has it been challenging? Yes. Has it been difficult? Yes. Has it been stressful? Yes. Has it been worth it? ABSOLUTELY!
They say that events like this just get easier the closer you are to them. I admit, I was incredulous at first. But today, 4 Days from the event, I have truly realized that the statement is the absolute truth. It has been nothing but EASIER as time has gone on.
Friends from all over the state. Family from all over the country. No. Make that family from Canada, Australia, Israel, Argentina...make that family from all over the world. I will stand in front of them for 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon and lead them in reciting biblical verse, and read from the Torah. And I will be doing so much more. I have begun to realize, during this laborious process, that becoming a bar mitzvah is not just the service. I will be treading into the future, MY future, of the world and the Jewish Experience. I ask you to support me as I enter society, because Saturday, August 30th,2008, Will be the beginning. MY beginning.
Mr. Drew Underwood and I are debating via messaging. Below is the transcript, keep in mind I will constantly be editing this to include recent events, so please check back!

L: I would like to debate with you mainly upon policies. I have read your policies page, and I find them somewhat flawed and erroneous, unfortunately riddled with fallacies of logic. One thing that I would like to point out right now, and not on debate, is this excerpt: "First of all, if you support our troops, but say you don't like what they are doing in Iraq, try this:

"Hey honey. I love you, but I hate the way you cook, take care of the kids, wash the laundry, drive, sleep, talk, clean the house and walk, and that needs to change. Now!"

Where do you think you would sleep that night? Certainly not at home. Or at least she wouldn't. The point is, you can't say you like someone, but not like the way they do things. It doesn't make sense.

You are either for or against the troops."

This is an example of a fallacy of logic. The most significant trait of mankind is the fact that nobody is perfect. Once one realizes this, it becomes perfectly evident that loving one or supporting one even if you do not love what they do is acceptable. Otherwise, one never learns to befriend and support others.

One more point I would like to make is your litany of pointless, possibly untrue facts that justify your view about gun control.

I will be brief. Think about it this way. If there are more regulations on guns, then there is less chance of an unstable or dangerous criminal harming anybody.

U: I would like to point out that if more people have guns a criminal is less likely to commit violent crime. You see, criminals break the law. So if you say it is against the law to have guns, do you honestly think they will obey that law? No. So, when they realize that they have guns, but the people they are committing crimes against don't, what happens?

L: Seeing as guns are the most dangerous criminal weapon, it does not take a great mind to realize that if criminals do not possess guns, they CANNOT possibly use them.

U: Larkin! They are criminals! They will break the law and own guns! Seriously, I thought you were smarter than this! Do you honestly think that if we tell them "Now, please hand over your guns, like a good boy," they will do it? NO! They are lawbreakers, it is all they know. What makes you think that they will abide by such a law? Larkin, think about it. THERE LIFE IS ALL ABOUT BREAKING LAWS! IF THEY ARE WILLING TO KILL A MAN, THEY ARE DEFINITELY WILLING TO BREAK THE LAW AND OWN A GUN! They don't care what the government says about it. They will do it because they know that they can easily get away with it. And since all the good people would have no guns, they have a higher chance of using those guns.

L: I know that they are criminals! And a Larkin administration would not simply say "Now, please hand over your guns, like a good boy!" Besides, a criminal's life isn't all about breaking laws! Until we, as a whole, can finally step up and realize that criminals ARE PEOPLE LIKE US, we cannot possibly hope to understand them in order to stop them! We need to realize that we can reach out to them and help them, instead of wait for them to commit a crime and punish them, saying that the world is one criminal less!

TO BE CONTINUED...
I, Zachary D. Larkin, officially stand before you today a candidate for the office of President of the United States of America during the 2032 Election.
I know what you're thinking. What's a kid doing running for president?
Good question.
Throughout my life, I've experienced the many follies of older generations, which all resulted in crisis to day; including a polluted planet, unnecessary wars, and genocide in the forgotten corners of the world, to list a few.
My generation is not ignorant about the world's problems.
I believe that the people of my generation, as well as every other generation, have the potential to change the world, for the better, or for the worse.
I believe that we can absolutely fill that potential to make the world a better place.
The only ignorant thing about this is ignoring it.
***************************************************
My generation absolutely has the potential to change and fix the world, and here's why:
My generation has a fresher; more neutral "new perspective" about the world's problems.
We will not begin to influence the future tomorrow, we will begin influence the future today.
We see, entering the world and society as newcomers, that changes are needed, policies rethought, and problems fixed.
I am here today, a presidential candidate, because I believe that we, as a whole, can unite to fix the problems dividing us today.
For we are a divided people. And divided people fall together.
But I believe that we all can unite for any common cause and every common cause. Today, this cause is a call for unity.
So today, each and every one of us must answer this call, because only together will we prevail.
*******************************************
The founders sought a nation of stability, a nation where in which their families could live in peace.
There were no political parties, an idea which was looked down upon at the time.
There was little division.
There was a common goal, a common belief, a commonality to stand together against the face of tyranny, corruption, and injustice, as well as a belief of Unity that our country was founded upon. "E Pluribus Unum", out of many, one.
We will have given up this idea of freedom and unity when we forget our past.
And again, almost a century later, the country was plunged into another major war.
But this war had much higher stakes and expenses:
The Civil War.
Didn't we, the American people, learn almost one and a half centuries ago, that more blood is shed when brother fights brother than in any other war we've ever participated in?
Didn't we learn, during that civil war, that united we stand, and only divided we may fall?
America was tested during those two points in time upon whether it could remain one united nation.
A nation of equality, a nation of hope, and a nation of the people.
It almost didn't.
But coming out of both wars, the new United States of Americas learned that it could only survive as one.
Many lives have been lost, so that you today can stand proud and free.
That is something worth preserving.
*************************************************************
Unity. A simple word with a convoluted meaning; "one".
Without unity, society condemns itself to failure every time.
One and a half Millennia ago, the Roman Empire collapsed, and only decades ago, the Soviet Union disintegrated.
Why was this?
These two powers shared two core problems:
Government corruption and a sharp divide in ideologies.
A sharp divide in ideologies causes a sharp divide in people.
Sound familiar? I think so. It's happening today.
Right here. The "United" States of America.
For we are in the midst of another battle, with stakes that can potentially become just as significant as they were one and a half centuries ago.
And that's why we ought to be concerned.
This huge cultural, psychological, and political civil war has been dividing America for years and continues to divide us today.
The combatants?
Are they the democrats and republicans? The poor and the rich? The left and the right? Black and white? Jews, Catholics, and Muslims? Religious and secular?
All of them, and none of them, in a way. For the real threat to our unity is not any particular conflict. The reality of the situation is not as simple.
The real threat towards America, democracy, and the World is the fact that the named conflicts, and so many more exist and perpetuate.
The fact that these conflicts divide us is the real culprit.
But we must come together by settling our differences, and only once that has happened can we take on the world's problems.
If we are to solve the world's problems, we must unite immediately.
Because procrastination is not an answer. In order to achieve unity, we MUST unite.
*********************************************************************
A president needs to be the one who steps up and resolves conflicts to heal the nation and the world.
And that's the reason that America wants a President, and NEEDS a President who is going to strive for the rights of all Americans, as well as all the People of the World.
And that, my friends, is why I, Zachary D. Larkin, now officially stand before you today, a candidate for the office of President of the United States of America.   Read More »
If anyone out there is listening, please urge my opponents Larkin and Raftopoulos to participate in a debate with me.
Hello again. You might want to read the previous posts before this one. I'd just like to take the opportunity to ask that my supporters spread the word about my presidential campaign for the election in 2032. If this confuses you at all, read my previous posts. Please tell me, by the way, where you posted any information regarding my campaign if you did so on the internet, as it is important that we can keep track. This is also an invitation to everyone to join the support group.
(Read my previous post before this one) My campaign for presidency through the year 2032 will definetly be hard-fought. I appreciate any new member of my campaign, and invite you to my group. I will respond to any comments about this post or any other ones. Feel free to ask me about my campaigns, my view on issues, and also tell me your views. Nothing is more important for this Country than to unite and let every voice be heard. Please feel free to speak about your views on various issues. Every voice WILL be heard!
To America- My name is Zach Larkin. I live in Walnut Creek, California, and this is the first post in my blog which will follow my presidential campaign in 2032. following is my official announcement, named"The Divide". "Thousands of years ago, the Roman Empire crumbled. Decades ago, the Soviet Union collapsed. Why was this? Government corruption and a sharp divide in idealogies. Sound familiar? I think so. It's happening today. Where? I'll tell you where. It starts with a U and has a huge lie in the first word. The "United" States of America. A huge cultural, psychological, and political civil war has been dividing America for years. The combatants? Democrats and Republicans. Sure, there is the Green party, the Independents, and who knows how many other minor parties, but let's face it. They don't stand a chance. It's a two-party system, you need to pick a side or butt out! That's the view the media has taught me. That's the view that I will probably alter as time goes on. Just like the Constitution. It was meant to be amended. Which side am I on, you ask? I'll tell you which. I'm a Democrat, and a proud one. I believe that the GOP has almost created a corrupt, dystopian, and altogether ugly heck-hole. Not America, of course. The image of America to other countries, the world, the Diverse States of the World. I's a mess. Don't get me wrong; there is nothing wrong with a two-party system. It's great that the common people can choose a candidate with ideals that mirror their own. What bugs me is the way candidates and the media depict and treat their opponents. So what if dozens of years ago they were caught DWI, or if they cheated on their spouse? Humans aren't perfect! If we wanted a perfect candidate we'd vote for another species, but as far as I'm concerned, that's not going to happen. I wouldn't want my country's decisions made by Fifi or Mr. Whiskers (who, by the way, are very good pets that live in my aunt's house). Anyway, what I was saying was that nobody's perfect, and I wish that Republicans, and also some Democrats, would just stop slinging mud! Got it? Good! The Bush administration has usurped the power of the American government for the executive branch. It's a fact. The Legislature and Judicial departments were virtually stripped of power...but finally, America's seeing reason! Thanks to the recent Senate and House Elections, the Democrats have taken control of Congress. This country is certainly headed in the right direction. America NEEDS a President, and WANTS a President who is going to strive for the rights of all Americans and People of the Diverse States of the World. I have heard the call. Ring, Ring! I, Zachary D. Larkin, am officially announcing my candidacy for the office of President of the States of America. Hopefully we can put the United back into the States. (Due to certain laws, I am running in the year 2032. It's a long time, but we'll be ready.)" I'm Zachary Larkin, and I approve of this message!   Read More »
