About the Author

Hiserenity asked a question that I don't believe was fully answered

She wanted to know why when Misogyny is called out and confronted, no one attacks the use of the word when confronting Sexism. But when the term Racism is used , in confronting racial bigotry , there's always an attack on the person confronting it with accusations of playing the Race Card.

So, she asked the question. What term can be used when discussing or calling out Racism other than Racism , when addressing Racism ? There really is no other term to use and I think the question was more rhetorical than actually seeking to use a different word and I think the intention was to discuss this discrepancy.

The reason why Misogyny can be used is because , even in this day and age , it is socially acceptable to be an open Misogynists , while it is no longer socially acceptable , by the masses , to be a Racist. In America, Racism is WRONG. It took a long time for that to sink in . But it's pretty much established as wrong and no one likes to be called wrong .

Dear Annie,

Today, we are launching the “Make Change Count” campaign to highlight the wage gap that persists for women across the country. This year, Equal Pay Day -- the day on which women's wages catch up to men's wages for the prior year -- falls on April 22.

Check out YOUR wage gap by using our calculator at: www.hillaryclinton.com/women!

Although it has been more than 40 years since the Equal Pay Act became law, full-time working women make just 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. And it's even worse for women of color.

Tell your friends about the Wage Gap calculator and Hillary's work by sending them an email – sample text here!

Hillary has long been a champion for equal pay for women. Her legislation, the Paycheck Fairness Act, would help close the wage gap for women across the country, ultimately putting more money in the pockets of America's families. Hillary has also worked in the Senate not only to ensure women earn the same amount as men for equal work but also to expand the earned income tax credit, provide health care for children, raise the minimum wage, and stand up for female-owned small businesses.

Write a letter to the editor about Hillary's commitment to closing the wage gap – sample text here!

As president, Hillary would bring to the White House a long record of fighting for women and children -- and she will lead a government dedicated to improving the lives for all our families.

Please share this important tool with the women you know and let them know what is at stake in this election.

Sincerely,

Ann

who is going to protect these women and children?  this is so sick....

congress failed to ratify the equal rights amendment.  here is the actual text of the proposed law:

Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.

this disgusting news could not come at a worse time.  why are we failing our girls so miserably?  who is causing this?  parents? schools? the government?  the media?  i guess they all share the blame.  and they all better share the burden, and fix this.  and fast!

some idiot who was introducing mccain referred to barack obama several times as barack hussein obama, which is, in fact, his name. mr mccain took exception, and repudiated the remarks. proving his true colors months earlier, mccain responded to the question "what do we have to do get rid of the bitch?" not by repudiating it, or denouncing it, but instead said "well that's a very good question." everyone has stood by and DONE NOTHING while hillary clinton has been battered by the national media. she is called a witch, a bitch, a bad dresser, uppity (imagine the frenzy if that word, used by chris matthews, was used against obama??), nurse ratched, cruella de vil, ad nauseum.

this is a sexist nation. it is a sexist media. and you know it. you see it every day. and apparently it does not piss you off. guess some people are entertained when a woman is getting beaten up.

no gender issues? you can't possibly be that naive.

huffington post is a great source of information.  msnbc is NOT.  this link is graphic, vile, disgusting.  and, sadly, a must-see.

i'm sorry, but this guy gets on my last nerve.  i heard these remarks late yesterday, and i would have blogged immediately.  sadly, we were in a hotel and the mouse was not working and i hate mcsexy's laptop anyway.  it's probably for the best, as i was so irate i was literally seeing red.  in my personal life and in my career, i have often heard similar things said about me.  i express a point, firmly, or perhaps convey a little anger, and the man says "feeling a little emotional today, dear?" or even worse (and how many women haven't gotten this one?) the dreaded "is it that time of the month again?".  my blood boils!!  and here comes barack obama:
