I address you today during the aftermath of this election day.
And what a historic election this was!
Because yesterday the unprecedented has occurred- the first African American in our nation’s history will be elected into the White House.
Barack Obama will be able to focus his efforts on some of the main themes I would like to fix.
Because he has been elected, we have finally grasped what we need, to fulfill new change and hope in our great country.
*******************************************************************
Yesterday, my friends- was a day of change.
A day of hope.
A day of renewal.
Yesterday, we celebrated our democratic roots from the Greeks, and our Revolutionary belief in patriotism and activism in government.
Yesterday, we finally fulfilled our long-standing creed: “We hold these trughts to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”
‘Yes we Can’ has transformed- into ‘Yes we Did.’
****************************************************************
Yesterday, all the voters, from California to Connecticut; Salem, Oregon, to Salem Massachusetts; from Montana to Mississippi decided.
We decided to make not only the right decision, but to vote.
This election, over 21 months, or even 232 years in the making, has absorbed unprecedented enthusiasm and action.
I guarantee you that this election has shattered boundaries, redrawn a map of people, restored faith and dignity to American government and politics, and encouraged action.
The real winners of this election were the people- who have chosen to reprent ourselves with Barack Obama.
With this movement- the first African american president has been elected.
With this movement- a Hispanic can become president.
With this movement- a women, a jew, a mormon, a gay person, a muslim, or anyone else can become president.
This movement has shook the foundations of american politics, has shattered almost every precedent imaginable, led only by three words- ‘Yes We Can.’
Yes we Did.
Your excellent (and so amusing) piece in the IHT today could be (suitably translated!) the basis of the statesmanlike speech that Obama ought now to be making to rise above pig & lipstick pettiness.
Surely it is vital to get across to American voters your point that it is both Bush’s Iraq war and his financial ineptitude, that have TOGETHER brought such economic distress to American voters and such a collapse of America’s power and prestige?.
Can’t American voters, even now, be brought to see that real ‘change’ can only be brought by a president who was against the Iraq war? None other can credibly turn this page of disaster and make a new start at home and abroad.
And if Americans AND the outside world both see a new era of cooperation on the way, it will be possible to start cleaning up the Bush mess both from inside and the world outside.
But how persuade Obama - the only hope - to take on the mantle of statesmanship he can merit? So many Americans (and we Europeans) are waiting for just that. It would galvanize Obama’s support across the board. On that level McCain/Palin cannot compete.
Though urged to do so, Kerry never made that world-encompassing speech - and faded out in petty swift-boatery. We Europeans are alarmed such could happen again.
I hope this helps!
Best wishes for your cheering work, John Pedler
Read More »Obama has talked about a timeline of withrawl. He talked about talking to Iran. Bush said talking to Iran was "apeasement". McSame said Obama is wrong about a timeline, that he must do what the military leaders on the ground say. HMMMM did you hear that Bush and Iraq talked about a "time horizon" for troop withdrawl? Sounds like a fancy way of saying TIMELINE. Did anyone catch the news that the third hightest ranking diplomat in the State Dept. will be at a meeting with Iraq's nuclear negotiator?
Sounds like Obama knows more about foreign policy than what Bush and McSame and their talking heads are saying in the press.
Did anyone notice in Obama's speech that he wants to make sure rouge organizations (not countries) are stopped from getting WMDs. Why didn't the press report that he will make sure the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty is ratified and enforced along with meeting with Russia about cutting even more nuclear weapons. Making us secure by getting rid of nucs that our enemies could get hold of. Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I wonder how long until Bush acts on it and McSame takes credit for the idea. But no the press would rather talk about Brad and Angelina's twins and if Madonna is the reason why A-Rod's marriage broke up. Where is their priority. Thank God for BBC News, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and the web.

Tune In!
McCain recanted his earlier statements that the United States military could be in Iraq for the next hundred years, and instead stated that U.S. troops would be back on American soil during January, 2013. When asked how he knew this, McCain said "I'm campaigning."
McCain proceeded to explain that "because I want your vote, I am saying the following, the war in Iraq will be over in 2013, Osama Bin Laden and his lieutenants will be dead or captured, Iraq would be a functioning democracy, Al Queda would be defeated, dandelions will provide all the fuel and energy we need, we will all be rich, and no one will die."
When asked how he could be certain of his predictions, McCain stated that "I'm making this sh** up as I go along. Really, I need your vote."
When pushed on how his speech differed from President Bush's Mission Accomplished speech (in which Bush announced that combat operations in Iraq were over less than 2 months into the Iraq war), McCain stated that he was campaigning whereas president Bush was simply lying.
McCain went on to add that in the year 2013, there would be no sectarian violence in Iraq, no armed militias, professional and competent Iraqi security forces, and a democratic Iraqi government able to impose its authority in every province of Iraq." At this point in his speech, McCain's nose grew so much that it looked like a footlong was shooting out of his face. But McCain persisted, explaining that he was not a "campaigner" but a "problem solver." Yet, McCain offered no plan or strategy for how his Iraqi Utopia would come about.
Eventually, McCain completed his remarks and retreated to the comfort of the "Straight Talk Express" where he in fact engaged in some "straight talk." "I'm full of it," McCain is reported to have said. At that time, McCain's nose shrunk back to normal size, until a reporter asked him about the economy.
Our economy is stifled with internet shopping, internet browsing, and internet lust. Where is the personality of the internet? What is massively attractive about a few silicon chips and some aluminum that we, as social creatures, have forgotten our roots of personable interaction?
Businesses have chosen to offer their products and services to consumers who can access catalogs and virtual storefronts with a few clicks of a mouse. Why do we not want to speak to a “customer service representative” eye-to-eye as we once did? Even telemarketing has gone high-tech with the introduction of “spamming.” I remember the annoyance of a telemarketer, always while the family was gathered around the dinner table.
After one logs on, they can view the news, weather forecast, sports scores, and find an abundance of information about a multitude of subject matter from an array of “search engines.” Have we forgotten the purpose of a librarian? Do you recall having no knowledge of how the Dewey Decimal system worked, or how to find a book on a particular subject? Do you remember that the librarian, the lady behind the counter, constantly asking us to “shh” showed us every time we used the old card system, how exactly the DD operated, saving us time and questions. I always forgot, did you?
There was once a time when classified for singles existed in the daily newspaper, but the Sunday edition showed the new advertisements and “love listings.” Do you remember calling the 800 number, setting up a mailbox, followed by leaving voice messages? The wait was agonizing, as you spent your time wondering if the person had not answered your message because they did not like the sound of your voice.
I remember those times. I also remember when you spoke to your family and friends face-to-face at gatherings and get-togethers, rather than by text messaging and video chat. I remember when store employees asked you if you wanted to take a short survey to inform management of how the service was. Now, you simply send an email to the webmaster or online help center.
I remember when you were sent to the principal’s office for talking in class. They carry cellular phones throughout the schools now. I remember when correspondence was a phone call or a postal letter.
I remember when your voice mattered. I also believe that our voices still matter very much. I believe that a personable, intelligent, and honest person can make a difference. I believe that each of us has something to say that, if given the chance to speak, can enlighten others. I believe that we all have ideas about how to improve society, the economy, and unemployment. I believe that each of us has a desire to make a difference. I believe that with the proper leaders, our community can become a model for the surrounding area. I believe that if we ask, an answer will be given in due diligence. I believe that if we are lost, we should ask for directions. I believe that if we can not see, someone else will take our hand to guide us. I believe WE know the proper course of action. I believe WE can make our own decisions. I believe WE should be heard. I believe you remember the times when your voice mattered. And, I believe that you still care if your voice is represented. I believe that your voice matters.
My name is David Cabler; and I am a candidate for the Port Huron Township Board of Trustees. I have a desire to hear your voice and use it to make a difference. I want your voice to matter come August 5, 2008. Remember that your voice matters!

"Where Do We Go From Here"?
Well the speech was A good not..GREAT speech..
Not a MLK or Rooseavelt, or JFK speech
Yet Obama still could be is a prophet of change... Yet maybe even a LEADER ..
BUT NOT A PRESIDENT
Many Great people have enfluenced change..I MEAN GREAT PEOPLE !! Many we have forgotten or never heard of..or lost to The past..never to have been known....wfe
Barack Obama sadly is not at that point.
Many leaders and uniters and prophets of change were never a president..,a king..,a dictator, or even a GOD.
A GREAT EXAMPLE...The Great Experimenter Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948), also known as Mahatma GandhiGandhi was no emperor, not a military general, not a president nor a prime minister. He was neither pacifist nor a cult guru. Who was Gandhi ? If anything, Mohandas K. Gandhi was a constant experimenter. Spirituality, religion, self-reliance, health, education, clothing, drinks, medicine, child care, status of women, no field escaped his search for truth. His thoughts when appeared in the form of talk or article became official words of action with the masses of India. He was a man who did what he said and led an exemplary and a transparent life. Not many people can claim "My life is an open book". There were millions of Indians who treated Gandhi's suggestions as supreme commands and acted upon them (hence the name Mahatma). Born in Gujarat, fluent with Hindi and English, and residing in the minds of millions, Gandhiji was able to unite India like none other. An adamant idealist, courageous fighter, a deep thinker, and a great leader of men and ideas, it was possible for him to do that because he identified himself with struggles and pains of the common Indians. He quickly became the sole voice of the downtrodden and the exploited. They completely believed that Gandhiji understood their difficulties and would provide justice for them. Among Gandhiji's disciples were kings, royals, untouchables, rich, poor, foreigners, and women. When this selfless and pure man became leader of the nation, he gave a clear and unambiguous direction to the Himalayan problems facing India. Most important of them were poverty, religious conflict, exploitation, ignorance and colonization by the British. Here, we try to disseminate his complex personality through articles, tributes, pictures and quotations. -Vikas Kamat
GOD BLESS THE WORLD...GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES....please God......please guide us...

Now let us get to work .(not matter if rep. or dem. or other)....there are other SERIOUS ISSUES we must deal with...!!!

Democrats.org has a post called "Dennis Kucinich" that's worth checking out...
Watch Dennis Kucinich's speech
This is one of my favorite speeches of Dennis Kucinich. The response of the audience is LOUD and clear. If you are looking for a consistent, moral, intelligent champion of democracy, look no further than Dennis Kucinich!

Mitts about to give a speech about his Mormon Belief. I am particularly interested in what he has to say considering the fact that Republicans tend to inject their religious beliefs into their policy decisions as opposed to Democrats who know the difference between Jesus Christ and the President of the United States.

the delay in our funding will means this for our military:
* Unless Congress acts, the Defense Department will soon be required to begin giving layoff notices to about 100,000 civilian employees.
* Unless Congress acts, the military task force developing ways to better detect and protect our troops from roadside bombs will run out of money by early next year.
* Unless Congress acts, the Army will run out of operations and maintenance money in February.
* Unless Congress acts, the Marine Corps will run out of similar funds in March.
