What do you think Barack Obama will do with this whole Mumbai attack? This is serious stuff. I think this is the biggest terrorist attack since the one in London a few years ago.
Will this make people reluctant to leave Iraq?
Will this make people reluctant to leave Iraq?
The present Obama lead is still precarious given what he is up against with racism and perceived Democrat suppport for "politicial correctness" destructive of America's traditional values - two handicaps I keep drawing attention to when Obama's supporters show signs of over-confidence. It's still a nail-biter for us Europeans whose future will be decided by an American electorate who brought us G W Bush not once but twice.
This election is still very much about national security as well as the economy.
There is still the danger that near the last moment al Qaeda or some other enemy will pull off some major attack or security challenge - maybe something we're not even thinking about - in an attempt to help Senator McCain who is far the most likely to follow GW Bush in (unwittingly) giving al Qaeda and other enemies all they want as he has done to date. (See reports of what they're threatening now on restricted access terrorist sites).
This means that during these last days before 4 November it is important to keep crying out loudly that "experience" is no automatic qualification to be Commander-in-Chief!
As I keep saying, the simple point is that no one had as many years of "hands on" experience in national security/military affairs as Cheney and Rumsfeld: but their astonishing bad judgement got us all into the Iraq war with its calamitous (for "the West") consequences.
And Senator McCain - despite all his Vietnam experience and his years in the Senate - himself demonstrated appalling bad judgement by voting for the invasion of Iraq which risked bringing and has indeed brought not one but two more "Vietnams" - Iraq and Afghanistan: when to leave, how to leave without leaving behind a trail of disaster far worse than after the fall of Saigon.
Yet seemingly near half of intended voters will vote for him and Mme Pailin (who has a 1 in 7, we are told, actuarial likelihood of becoming president within the next four years if Senator McCain wins)
Ye - these are truly nail biting days for us Europeans whose fate will be decided on 4 November.

We should sharpen our teeth!
I agree with the argument that Obama supporters shouldn't fall for McCain-Bush’s trap . But what I am going to ask is :why should Obama-Biden be under the silly and defamatory attacks, while McCain-Palin are in a disastrous situation because of their lies and scandals . Believe me ,a big minority of American people would vote for a candidate who is quick off the mark and attacks back ,because they associate a quick repercussiveness with the ability of a candidate to handle s in some critical situations.
I don't want to say that Obama campaign should make negative attacks but Obama campaign has had a lot of legitimate reasons to attack Palin in the last week and they haven't done it.
Palin is only nominated because of a few simple reasons:
1-to mobilize the Reps and their voters.
2- to attract the public and medial attention from Obama's historical speech and Dem's successful convention to Palin-McCain.
3- to mock Obama and his life through Palin's primitive attacks , who is nobody and is allowed and programmed to make any mistakes in order to defame Obama and his ideas. She will mock Obama and the media will praise her for being brave , snappy and fresh and Reps will defend her.
4-Reps and Bush-McCain exactly knows that they can not counter Obama's ideas with their ideas , therefore ,They have sent a nobody (Palin ) into the race, who will distract the race from important issues to personal issues.
I have been alerting for months that McCain is fox and wolf in sheep's clothing .He hides his true face behind the heroic past . Look , the Rep’s convention has started with McCain’s heroism and is going on with McCain’s heroism and will end with McCain’s heroism.
You might say : we know all that! Yes you know that but what are you going to do? Just sitting and reacting and defending won’t lead Obama-Biden to victory.
We should attack .
If the opponent shows its hand we have to show our massed-fist.
If the opponent says A.. with should read it to the end and reply quickly.
If the opponent smiles at us we should laugh at them and mock them.
If the opponent fires with “bullet” we should fire back with “rackets”.
If the opponents blames us for not being experienced , we blame them for having false experiences ,which have brought the USA into the most critical condition in the American history( broken economy, high unemployment rate , bankruptcy of millions of American people, 9 trillions debts , 2 wars, damaged reputation in the world, and and and…)
You can name it , I will write more and more .

The campaign says:
In the next 36 hours, the McCain campaign will be pouring millions of dollars -- if not tens of millions -- into negative attack ads against Barack Obama. ......."
I ask you why should our Obama-Biden be under the attack while McCain-Palin are suffocating in their scandals and problems?
Why aren't we able to get political profit from that without being dirty?
I agree with Sen. Obama that the family should be off-limit but it would be a self-censorship if we didn't ask some questions.
I have a very bad feeling that Obama campaign is taking Palin's issue too easy.. Palin and McCain are about lasting through their scandals without being attacked enough by Obama campaign.
And I am afraid but I think it is too late to attack her. She will do a good job with her speech . She was a model and she knows how she can manipulate and affect people's brain. She will emphasize on keeping the baby , she will try to lay the blame on somebody else , she may pour some tears , she will play "a powerful woman" ,who became a target for bloggers ,"mad left democrats “ and media . And Rep’s will applaud . And tomorrow , most of media will report a surprising powerful and self-confident Palin , who is ready for VP.
She won’t tell the people that she took her poor baby who suffers on Down Syndrome to the loud and crowdy VP introduction only to cover up the pregnant belly of her 17 years daughter and hide the secret from people. (watch again the VP introduction rally on you-tube)
Why doesn’t anybody ask about that? Is it human to treat a sick baby that way? Is it educationally and pedagogically right to force a 17 year old pregnant daughter to lie about her pregnancy and hide it from the crowd on the VP Introduction rally ?
Asking such questions isn’t any interferences in Palin’s privacy but it is legitimate and human.

A possible US attack on Iran has been debated in and out of the US Government for several years now, based on press reports. In the last few months, concerns about a possible US (and/or Israeli) attack on Iran have mounted once again. Some believe an attack is imminent. Various groups and organizations are taking positions on this issue. This blog is a good way to share information on these developments. Again, this information is shared by the bloggers in the interests of increasing awareness of activities on this topic, and not necessarily to endorse specific resolutions, activities, actions, or similar. Everyone interested is of course encouraged to engage the issue as they see fit.
A Google search on "US plans to attack Iran" or similar turns up a large number of hits. Many hits refer to news stories in the mainstream and alternative press, think tank analyses and reports, speeches by various analysts, commentators, former military, etc. As a start for this blog, let's focus on sharing suggestions on what are considered by the blogger to be useful web sites, organizations, reports, or articles. We share these only for informational, research and educational purposes, and not necessarily as an endorsement of the content.

MUNCIE " A Republican voter registration deputy faces battery charges after he tackled a newspaper reporter and hit the Democratic 6th District congressional candidate after a contentious Delaware County Election Board meeting this afternoon.
The meeting had just ended when Will Statom, GOP registration deputy and secretary of the local Republican Party, attacked Star Press reporter Nick Werner while Werner was interviewing Ball State University student Johanna Perez about hundreds of last-minute voter registrations for Democrat Barack Obama’s campaign.
“He did not seem very happy that we were stating our opinions,” Perez said afterwards about Statom.
Werner said Statom seemed critical of his reporting, sarcastically saying to make sure he screwed up the story again.
Statom had just walked past Werner when Statom turned around and pushed Werner against the wall, grabbed him and they fell to the ground, according to witnesses.
Barry A. Welsh, Democratic 6th district congressional candidate, who attended the meeting, stepped in, and Statom turned around and hit Welsh in the eye.
“When Nick went to the floor, I tried to break it up,” Welsh said.
County sheriff’s deputies then stepped in and broke up the fight outside the commissioner’s courtroom in the third floor of the county building. More deputies arrived when 911 dispatch informed police of an emergency in the county building involving a scuffle outside of the commissioners office.
Statom refused to comment when he walked out of the county building. He was taken into custody of county sheriff’s deputies.
Sheriff’s investigator Todd Daily said Statom was interviewed, and would be booked on battery charges, based on a battery affidavit signed by Werner.
