It's impossible to conclude that our economic environment is not subject to the same diversity that comprises our natural environment. Given that an economy is a subset of the society that wrests itself from an unforgiving natural world riddled with chaos, why do some branches of economic thought continue to rationalize humankinds pecuniary endeavors down to neat tightly, clean, predictable outcomes. The structure of an economic system must reflect the multifaceted and diverse characteristics of the world in which it operates - a world of varying personalities all interacting in incoherent ways.

Our universe is not clean and orderly it-s very, very messy - nothing ever seems to work out according to the best conceived plans. It is therefore imperative that we not endeavor to extend our subconscious world view of tidy, neatly trimmed 'lawns' to any natural substrate in the living breathing messy struggle for life. There are no 'lawns' of perfectly crafted conception in nature so why extend the improbable to a natural world substrate? A prairie ecosystem is full of tall grass of varying varieties, riddled with ground squirrel holes, snakes in some regions, muck, and a variety of wildlife not allowed to intrude into our comfortable neat complacent checkerboard communities. But the interaction between the two does result in changes that affect both.

Similarly, our economic system must reflect the realities or 'ground truth' inherent in the natural environment, societal structure, and impractical, irrational interspersed behavior of the human substrate. So why continue to refine any economic model based upon illusion by further perturbing an already tumultuous society by injecting policies that don't align with any existing observable dynamic?

Over the past few years we've been led to believe that the Laissez-faire neoclassical economic realm of illusory conceptualization would translate into this wonderful world guided by some 'invisible hand'. Ours would be a service sector oriented economy never again requiring the utilization of dirty hands, and strong muscles. Every citizen would magically be endowed with all the necessary intellect, desire, and personality to expand the service sector into the preeminent sector of employment. There was just one problem with the distorted nation state competitive advantage simplistic view of our globe - it still left a substantial segment of our population underemployed, and unemployed because they just didn't fit into the special mold of a service sector laborer.

Expanding the concept of competitive advantage outside of its original boundaries centered in a particular industry was just another attempt to mold reality (only perceptually achievable by propaganda) to fit illusion. Over the past few decades we've been deluding ourselves into thinking that a viable economy can function stripped of its manufacturing sector. It has become abundantly evident that an economic system crafted for the benefit of the larger community cannot operate solely as a service sector economy devoid of a sustainable manufacturing base.

Competitive advantage must mold both the service sector and manufacturing components across industry segments that are jealousy defended by national policies within a completely economically integrated world. No economy can be sustained under just one of these core economic components they both must be merged together in order to achieve some semblance of economic and societal sustainability & stability.

We have witnessed the effective subversion of an already inherently unsustainable service sector nation-state competitive advantage model into something contrived and contorted beyond its illusory construct. Perpetuated by the 'information age' propagandists we were led to believe that an economy could be solely built upon a technologically oriented service sector. Factories were no longer needed within an economy based solely upon intellectual labor. The problems with this early nation-state competitive advantage centered model were three fold. First, it was myopically constrained to a nation-state centric advantage that never expanded across borders. Secondly, it failed to account for the unpredictable effects of human behavior within a tumultuous greed enhanced global society. Thirdly, as already conveyed, the competitive advantage of a technologically oriented service sector was too broad in scope to be maintained at the nation-state level.

But what mutated from this touted elegant distortion of reality was driven by the second factor, the uncontrollable greed educed by Laissez-faire religious tenants that encouraged human behavior contrary to the maintenance of sustainable and stable communities. Any behavior was permissible in the corruptly focused short-term greed addicted behavioral state. What evolved was a belief system built around the individual to the exclusion of the community a credo that any means was justified even the 'slash and burn' pillage of entire nation-states to fulfill the unquenchable desires of the few wealthy elite. Labor arbitrage became the 'club' of choice wielded by the 'strong arms' of an army of mercenary lobbyists fielded to sustain the wealthy fiefdom's ability to exploit workers by any means imaginable.

With so many interconnected messy threads weaving throughout our society, class consciousness, across unique behavioral responses to stimuli, and the turbulent at times dangerous physical world we inhabit it is abundantly clear that any economic theories must be conceived in the forge of reality. It is a reality that recognizes a simple requirement of all human beings - fairness. Without fairness or some form of equity, infused with equality the best conceived seemingly realistic policies will be nothing more than distorted illusion cloaked in a thin veil of reality. Human beings are very adept at perceiving whether certain aspects of their societal framework is fair, or slanted towards the interests of those ultimately in control. No amount of 'packaging' will deceive a community of citizens over the 'long haul' - this is aptly reflected in the current rejection by the general populous of the trickle down supply-side greed based economics benefiting the few practiced over the last few years.

Quakers believe that we are all our brothers keeper, that when we act in the best interests of our fellow human beings we serve the better interests of our communities. Thus, realizing that in order for a sustainable, stable economy to transpire we need to include everyone; those who desire or are suited to work in a vibrant manufacturing component, others who excel in a service sector intellectual or assistance driven component, and those who must be cared for by a compassionate community (government) because their unable to survive in either component of a competitively oriented sector of our economy. It is also important to integrate our nation-state economies into an 'International Economic Congress' whereby the interests of Capital (businesses) and Labor can be democratically resolved, and a coordinated oversight of all economically related endeavors can be achieved for the betterment of the entire global community. We are on the cusp of an appreciation that transcends any past global paradigm shift - our movement towards a sustainable, stable world community is very achievable. Let's make it happen.

What do we expect in life? This is an important question that, hopefully, most of us ask ourselves. How many of us think about this? How many of us actually do something about it? Not as many as one might think. When speaking with friends and family I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this sentence: "I just don't have an interest in politics." My first thought in response to this is "You don't want to have a say in what is going on around you?" Many people do not understand politics and what is involved. Politics, and governing for that matter, is who gets what, when, where, why, and how. That's the bottom line. So why wouldn't someone be interested? A sense of urgency is why. Many of us take for granted that others will take care of everything for us and do so with our best interests in mind. Some of us have become complacent in our lives and do not want to earn what should be worked for. It strikes me as ironic that we have no shortage of complaints, but a rather surprising lack of action of the part of the general public. Maybe I am totally off base here, but I do not think I am. How many people do you personally know that are involved in your community and trying to make at least a small difference? Why aren't you? Where is your sense of urgency?
In an effort to stimulate community involvement and actively partake in the revitalization of the district, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that local community-based organizations are properly funded. These organizations are essential to the community and the individuals they service. I have allocated $69,756.00 to the Audubon Partnership for Economic Development's Neighborhood Preservation Program. Another example is the Domestic Violence Program at the Dominican Women's Development Center, where I secured $175,000.00 of funding to help the organization assist women in need. I believe firmly in the role that these organizations play, and will continue to do my part to secure funding for them.

You can see the activity in the medians of the interstate expressways the energy is palpable. The elevated structure that will carry the bullet trains traveling in excess of 350 miles per hour is visible while driving down any expressway of the country. There is a feeling of participation exuded by my fellow citizens as if they understand the significance of their being present at this momentous period in our country's transformation. Across the fields in places like Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas large wind turbines, solar collectors, and other innovative structures utilizing a multitude of technologies are being constructed to provide the much needed power for our nation.

Everyone is talking about the activity with an air of anticipation. The undertaking is one of pride that all Americans acknowledge the significance and urgency in completing. We may have been late to act to secure our country's future in a world of uncertain energy supplies but have expended the money and energy that typifies the unique strength of our citizens when faced with a Herculean effort.

It was only a year ago that most of us felt that once again nothing would be accomplished given all the divergent business interests that were vying to derail any initiative that would disrupted the preferred societal stasis. For it was through this static regressive state that the business elite were able to most effectively maintain their control over our society. Why should they consent to changing a totalitarian economic system that had benefited them enormously? What transpired was truly miraculous one by one citizen's starting standing up demanding that the yoke of business be removed from their government. Even governmental representatives who had been the stewards of business interests for years started moving from the shadows into a new light of realization that their country's economic survival was more important than any single business. We could have either continued down the same worn paths of acceptance of our business handler's dictates or rise above the sludge and build a better tomorrow for our nation - together. It was the latter decision that was ultimately chosen.

A patriotic pride has enveloped our nation from the most remote to the most populous regions. It is impossible not to understand how important the completion of all these efforts is, given the continual pressure that is being placed upon our environment by a nation whose expansiveness demands burning unimaginable amounts of fossil fuels just in a daily commute. Not to mention the continual rise in a barrel of oil that has been accelerating of late given OPEC's understanding that once our green industries, and cross-country mass transit systems fully come 'on line' our consumption of oil will drop precipitously.

In some parts of the country our citizens are already enjoying their commutes on bullet trains after parking their cars at their local station. Fully realizing that they'd better become acclimated to this form of travel given that the Emergency Oil Corporation will cease to exist after the completion of the entire transport system and 75% of the green industries are operational - rider ship has increased exponentially over the past few months. For a fee that is a fraction of what we pay for gasoline even at a retail rate with no profit included it represents a significant savings in money not to mention the time saved by not having to sit in traffic during a daily commute. Some people have even begun using the monorails (for they do resemble something you'd see at Disney) for travel during their vacations. With expansive luggage compartments underneath the passenger section most people find that their still able to take between 2 -3 suitcases on a trip for 1/10 of the cost of a plane ride.

Newly formed public utilities are beginning to supply power to homes and business at rates reminiscent of the 1950's generated through renewable energy sources. These public utilities (that are essentially electric cooperatives) are supplanting the private electric companies that for years had been raising rates beyond the means of our citizen's ability to pay.

The benefits are to numerous to quantify - every sector of our nation's economy has been benefiting through the foresight of a few visionaries willing to stand up and push back the selfish business elites in an effort to once again allow our country to travel down the road of prosperity. The only difference this time is the road of our memory where millions upon millions of vehicles burning fossil fuels each competing for space has now become a swift moving steel monorail blazing down the center of a highway.

There is once again talk about the future not in the despair reminiscent of yesterday but the promise of tomorrow - for both our government and economy is finally free to move towards new horizons. We are united under one nation of citizens within one country that we all call home - what a beautiful home.

An awakened aggressive nation of citizens has been voting with passion expending their emotion in a torrid of energy that will eventually crest over the parapets of a government embalmed by a cadre of lobbyists. What our citizens are desperately seeking is a leader that will cross the boundary of obscene doctrinaire generalizations into a clear valley of dreams.

Envision our nation not in disconnected segments but coalesced into a future without preconceived barriers. The only barriers that exist are those that are conceptual self imposed granite walls gouged by bloodied fingers attempting to scale an illusion. We must allow our vision free rein realizing that the walls of impossibility don't exist but were constructed within our minds through well placed preconceptions. Allow your thoughts the freedom to wonder across the valley of dreams.

A leader requires the ability to envision something when nothing is present. A cold stark emptiness devoid of hope or cause filled in by a gentle breeze of the possible. Clearly envision what is possible without logic or preconceptions crowding out your creativity - block out every distraction. We will, we can, we'll be able to accomplish anything - there is nothing that is insurmountable when a nation of citizens resolves to transcend from mediocrity to greatness.

Be that leader - Senator Obama - for we have seen sparks of greatness. Now is the time to present your unencumbered vision, plans, and actions that will result in our nation achieving the unimaginable.
A government isn't supposed to tell its citizenry what to expect given certain precepts or inalienable truths never once questioned to determine their validity. Governments have one function that overrides all others, to answer to the will of the people. Whether in a direct fashion as in a democracy or an indirect way through a responsible monarchy that perceives the general tenor of their subjects - the foundation of all good governments rests upon a respect for the citizens that they govern.

When a government disrespects its citizens by engaging in activities or passing legislation that benefits a small select block of citizens to the exclusion of the majority that their supposed to represent - the citizens have every right to dissolve this form of illusory representation. Once corrupted through the melding of the interests of the government representatives with those of the pirates seeking to cannibalize the interests of the general citizenry into their exclusive domain - all is usually lost. It then becomes far too difficult to differentiate the representative from the pirate that has initiated the capture of legislative expectation that once was the exclusive purview of the people.

In their communications with the general citizenry the representatives increasingly disrespect those whom their charged with governing. With the representatives conveying beliefs encased as facts in ever more potent condescending tones the citizens of a nation begin to acquire a subservient posture. Juxtaposed against the patriarchal airs of their representatives the cast is formed and is hardened around the citizens becoming an impervious belief in their own idiocy on a multitude of matters of the state. Once this process is initiated it can be used to silence all dissent by pointing out the ignorance of the former constituents on any matter and contrasting it to the impervious infallibility of their governmental representative benefactors.

Never mind that the supposed infallibility of judgment of the representatives is slanted towards the benefits that they extract through their direct connection with lobbyists that are hooked into business elites. The illusory representation of facts and logic conveyed by the representatives becomes more and more biased towards a belief system espoused by their business elite controllers.

Beware of any law of nature that is just a weak exponent of a human mind that was more interested in perpetuating theory than fact. When the gospel of 'The Free Market' is pandered to those of us who represent the general citizenry of this nation - our ears should perk up in anticipation in receiving an audible justification why tyrants have supplanted our government in our own best interests. It is always in the best interest of the citizenry that tyrants legitimize their rule of tyranny.

The only interest that represents the best interest of the citizens of a nation is those actions by their government that better their lives - not adhere to unchallengeable precepts. We are the government, economy, and for that matter anything that we've conceived those vassals of society to represent - any one of them can be changed for they are not static. Evolution is a constant of nature - change will occur over time. The question now is whether it is change that we desire or change that will enslave us under the power of a few tyrants.
One of the central benefits obtained through the nationalization of the oil companies will be the immediate redirection of all accumulated profits towards finding renewable sources of energy to replace oil, the construction of an affordable cross country mass transit system, investment in green industries, and the complete elimination of the profit margin in the retail price of gasoline & diesel.

The oil industry under its current umbrella of subsidies and corporate structural benefits within the totalitarian economic society has absolutely no incentive to invest in alternative forms of energy given the huge profit margins that they've been able to make on retail gasoline & diesel. Proof of this is abundantly evident in the fact that only 1% of all gasoline pumps within the United States are currently E85 ethanol while the remaining 99% are still dispensing fossil fuel based petroleum products. Granted, their have been many concerns of late that ethanol production that uses food crops such as corn are negatively impacting the available supply of food on a global basis but this issue aside why haven't the oil companies made available more 85% ethanol pumps? The reason is simple why should they stop their successful pillage of wealth from the American citizens when nothing is inhibiting them from discontinuing this behavior.

While our country faces an imminent economic collapse perpetuated by over zealous speculation within the energy & commodity markets, excessive profit margin increases at the retail level for petroleum products, a significant reduction in consumer consumption spending stemming from negative wage growth within the past few years, and a continuing downward pressure on wages due to labor arbitrage no meaningful action has been taken by our government of the business elites for the business elites.

Since it is not rational to expect the oil companies to immediately start investing their profits on a massive scale within green industries that would effectively have the effect of significantly reducing the plausibility of their propaganda campaign aimed at maintaining these very same profits - the government of the citizens of this great nation should promptly nationalize all the oil companies.

Once nationalized all retail prices should immediately be reduced by the excessive and artificial profit margins that are currently built into the price of petroleum products. This would have the effect of stabilizing this most important energy source until such time as new renewable forms of energy could be successfully brought to market. In combination with this, a program of building an affordable (for all our citizens) cross country mass transit system of bullet trains linking every city within the United States should commence utilizing a proportion of these acquired profits. This would lay an infrastructure of transportation for the 21st century that would eventually replace our outmoded highly inefficient highway system that is geared more towards a resource abundant past and not a resource constrained future.

In addition to the above outlined steps our nation should use the balance of the profits extracted through the nationalization of the oil industry to invest in the green industries that will provide the jobs of the future. These new industries should design, manufacture, and market products globally of the highest quality in order to set our nation apart through a distinct competitive advantage. We must undertake this initiative without delay and invest heavily in order to insure that our nation has a predominate position in these industries that will be central to our future prosperity.

Granted none of this can be accomplished under the current totalitarian economic society that we find ourselves immersed in - we will first have to take back our government from the business elites and their lobbyist stooges. Once we have accomplished this within the first half of next year everything outlined within this article should be instituted forthright so that we may stop the downward spiral of economic calamity that is currently upon us - there is no time to lose. We must get our citizens back to work ensuring that each and everyone who wishes to work will have a job with a decent wage. With the enactment of the steps outlined within this paper we'll begin to arrest the current extreme inequality of income that is the 'killing fields' of our future economic stability. Time is short but our resolve should be endless - let's grasp our country before it falls into an abyss of instability and global irrelevance.
High priced gasoline and diesel with 60 - 80% increases over a span of a few months has been generated by global market speculators providing an illusory justification used by the oil companies in their astronomical rise in retail prices. Through their daily bidding up of the cost per barrel of oil from around $50 dollars per barrel in late 2003 to above $127 dollars per barrel on May 16, 2008 global market speculators are contributing to a well orchestrated market manipulation originating first with OPEC's refusal to increase production quotas. With substantial oil reserves still available across the globe these business elites are engaging in an activity that they know all to well - inventing further contrivances to append to the already distorted totalitarian free market society in order to extract the maximum wealth from those lest able to afford their pillage.

With each increase in the cost per barrel of oil the media 'parrots' of the totalitarian market society echo their scripted concern on queue, this en mass media sludge flows across the nation in a wave of propaganda. Almost immediately we the citizens are confronted with yet another increase in the price per gallon in gasoline and diesel. The oil industry blithely dismisses these increases as a direct result of market forces (those same forces that their conveniently engaged in shaping) that are being stimulated in a skyward direction due to limited supply which is driving the underlying cost per barrel higher. How quickly we forget the record profits that these same oil companies have been piling up over the past few months - profits that have exceeded any made by any company in history - billions upon billions of dollars.

Also, disregard the fact that the oil industry hasn't invested in new refineries since the 1970's thus constraining the supply further - is it at all inconceivable that if you constrain the supply of something that it's price will go up when demand increases. With the introduction of India and China into the community of developing nations global demand for petroleum has skyrocketed with populations that when combined represent the largest proportion of human beings living anywhere driving more and more cars, and requiring ever more electricity to power their homes and factories. So with the supply being constrained due to limited global refining capacity and demand that is increasing almost exponentially, market speculators bidding the price up daily on a barrel of crude oil, and the oil companies using this as a justification for raising their retail prices way beyond any market related factors is it any wonder we are having to make an investment every time we stop to fill up our vehicles.

Now steps in the oil producers and particularly the largest oil producer in the world - Saudi Arabia. Why not keep the pillage parties of these business elites riding across all the nation-state citizens grasping at every wallet or purse in sight galloping along at full speed? If production quotas enacted by the cartel of thieves that call themselves OPEC is maintained at a minimum the global supply can be further constrained but instead of at the point when the oil is transformed into gasoline in this case directly at the source - the wells.

So what's been contrived by the oil producers, oil refiners & companies, market speculators, the entire cadre of business elites including government lobbyists, and the media through their propaganda blitz is an absolute marvel of finessed manipulation of the totalitarian free market economic society with the effect of bringing about the 'perfect storm' of income pillage of the global citizenry.

It's time to put an immediate stop to this hideous greed - we must nationalize all the oil companies within our nation. The egregious profits that they've been accumulating on the backs of citizens just attempting to live their lives in a quiet peaceful and pleasant manner is utterly indefensible. Once nationalized these profits should benefit a nation and planet on the point of ecological peril by investing in the new green industries that will provide jobs for us and a future for our children. Let the United States once again represent the promise of a brighter tomorrow - everything is in our hands - we the citizens that once again will be represented.
Legislation that would provide community choice - acessible health care within communities - (sponsered by both Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is opposed by John McCain.http://www.democrats.org/a/2008/04/_advocates_fort.php Bush/McCain have consistantly faild to provide for those with challenges. Their policies are often almost punitive to the most in need of support.

Our candidates are in touch with the people while John McCain (his campaign riddled by lobbyists and special interest group ties) continues to favor the upper income population.
Time clicking, click, click, slipping past each second moving incrementally towards a minute then an hour after an eternity of drifting through innumerable minutes. One day at a time we drift across towards the close of another week. Month after month succumbs to a year and then many more years evaporate under the passage of our lives drifting imperceptibly within the steady decline of our great nation. Where not to be blamed for not noticing the cracks, worn paint, crumbling roads, graffiti filled concrete, and shabbily clothed hardened souls that form a gray backdrop to cities who've had their empathy vaporized under a beam of evil within the totalitarian economic society. Stark contrasts are only recognizable when contrasting a beginning with an ending.

Look around you, do you see it, do you feel it, its the faint pulse of a country slowing ever so audible one injustice, decline, old car, crumbling home, crime infested neighborhood, and sad citizen moving across a tapestry of selfishness inflicted by an evil concerned with nothing but power and one extra dollar.

Once a brilliant nation expanding the horizons of the possible with journeys to the moon and passion infused dreams of a future uninhibited by barriers - now a static greed infested corrupt capsule of a constricted vacant staring money machine that grinds endlessly. Nothing is left but the worship of our sacred ruby encrusted holy book of 'The Free Market' which instructs every one of us in the proper actions within the well orchestrated money society constructed by the business elites. Crumbing infrastructure, dreams, souls, or any other fluid of existence is acceptable given the cost that must be controlled per one of the most sacred commandments within this holiest of written works committed to memory by our Economic pastors. If you believe in a deviant form of equity, justice, community of citizens, and dreams - your sacrilege will not be tolerated by the Order of the Republican Party. You'll be punished for your sacrilegious acts against the one truth that all must live by - greed. Immediately, cleanse your minds of those deviant recollections of a nation before everything became something to be calculated within a spreadsheet of profit and loss.

Do you see it, some form is becoming clearer, is it a past with crisp clean lines, uncluttered by inhibitions in thought or destitute of spirit? We've transcended from a people of purpose to a rock solid still quiet subservient benign unquestioning inhibited mass under the direct control of a government infected by a contagion of evil. The few business elites having vanquished our beliefs are now in the process of eliminating the exercise of our free thoughts.

...An Unwelcome Future...
Click, click, click, the transgress of our time is moving from the present to a terrible future - it was one that they could have prevented. Did they even attempt to stop the continued harassment of those attempting to correct a destiny of complete slavery and totalitarian intolerance by comprehending passed the deception?

It must be written that we the people of this moment acted to cut out this totalitarian economic society from our nation and excise those who were most adept at absorbing everything into their swollen hands.

One more imperceptible click, don't you hear another, there must be another, oh no it's quiet - silence. We have reached the end game - nothing remains of the country that we once dreamed through and imagined was blessed to be the beacon of enlightenment.

Action...Stop...Greed...Think...Equity...Citizens...Community...Nation

These were their last thoughts before the chains were welded to the steel.
