George W. Bush and "the internets"
So the conventions are over and it seems that the merchandise mocking McCain and Palin has started to surge in the internet Marketplaces. My Brother, who makes stuff and sells stuff like this, has pointed out some stuff in particular that he said was created right after the election. Very interesting to see that people are mocking with merchandise - is this the new way of voicing your opinion? Well at the least it is funny to see some of the stuff that people create so fast...

According to the latest Rasmussen Report, 49% of Americans are OK with the government regulating the internet similarly to how TV and radio is regulated, which is not something I am OK with. Yes the internet needs to be safer and more secure since trillions of dollars are transacted over this system of tube (hehehe) a day. One thing that scares me is there is no one watching it and really the internet runs on the desire of large corporations and telecoms carrying it with their massive infrastructures. But to bring in government regulation is not the answer. What is rely great about the internet is the   Read More »
Thankfully Obama is the candidate that understands the power of the internet (well so did Dean, but that is a different story). Obama is proactively attacking websites, blogs, etc that try to smear Obama with slanders and lies about everything from his religion to how patriotic his wife is. See the article on the Guardian for more information. What really bothers me about this though...   Read More »
Folks,
Please note the forming of a new group:

Technology For Democracy

"The mission of this group is to be a forum for discussion, making connections, generating ideas, and taking collaborative action to drive democracy promoting technology tools. Together, we will think of creative ways to improve public awareness and opinion about how to use technology, including using the Internet effectively, to go from ideas, to action, to concrete achievements in the support of democrat goals and initiatives, for the public and organizations."

Please note this is a campaign INDEPENDENT group, an does not have the promotion of any particular candidate(s) in its mission.
I'll tell you why. GWB has screwed this great country up so badly in such a short time it blows my mind. Most Republicans (the ones "in the know" at least) are disgusted with Bush's mishandling of the Iraq war and his horrible foreign policy decisions. This man will be remembered in history as the worst pres. in the past 100 years. There are a lot of parallels between him and Jimmy Carter. Think about it. Have you heard his idiotic, very loaded, comment about rocker "BONO"? That statement DEFINES this very dangerous man, as well as his failed presidency.
We've launched another new edition of www.ASHERHEIMERMANN.com! We have added more resources and action items on the website. We have also set-up a few groups that you can join to show your support and interest.

We have even added the Asher Speaks Live Schedule so you will know the dates and times of the show! We are still adding a few more pages to the website. We will not have the Issues page up until the third week of January, 2008.

Please feel free to e-mail your comments to asher@asherheimermann.com. These comments will be helpful in making this website better to use and access. Many more cool features will be added in the upcoming months.

Internet Thought Control Bill Under Fire

House Committee Dismisses Criticisms of
Internet Thought Control Bill - H.R. 1995

By Michael Collins
Washington, D.C.
Part 2 (Part 1)

On Monday, Dec. 17, the House Committee on Homeland Security posted this document in response to the many criticisms of House Resolution 1955, The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. Part 1 of this series examined the dangers that this bill posed to citizens and political groups using the Internet.

Based on the bill contents and the witnesses called to elaborate on the supposed problem of "homegrown terrorism," it appears that House bill and the Senate look alike (S.1959) pose a significant threat to political expression and free speech, particularly on the Internet (see Thought Control on the Internet and this collection for more detail).

Thought Control on the Internet

By Michael Collins
Washington, D.C. - Part 1

Cracking the Code – Who's to Blame for "Violent Radicalization"?

The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a 404 to 6 vote on Oct. 23. Not since the Iraq War Resolution have Democrats and Republicans found such a unifying cause. We're told that House Resolution 1955 (H.R. 1955) will be an essential tool enabling law enforcement to peg the sources of "homegrown terrorism" on the Internet.

The overwhelming bipartisan support makes it no surprise that the legislation presents a significant danger to citizens and the nation. This sentence is the new heart of darkness for free speech.   Read More »

Get Used To It

Snip:

Candidates use the Internet to generate buzz, draw grass-roots support and raise record amounts of money. But in the intense, round-the-clock world of online presidential campaigning, the good comes with the bad. Still, Clinton has been the biggest target by far, attacked by the left because of her centrist positions and by the right for her association with President Bill Clinton. Her campaign doesn't directly address the online hostility and points to the $8 million she raised online last quarter.

Peter Daou, her Internet director, wrote in an e-mail: "Our campaign welcomes the diversity of views and vigorous debate that takes place online." But maybe not what Stephen DeMaura, then a senior at American University and now head of the New Hampshire Republican Party, started a month before the anti-Clinton "1984" video. DeMaura, 22, called it "Stop Hillary Clinton: (One Million Strong AGAINST Hillary)," a play on the Facebook group "Barack Obama: (One Million Strong for Barack)," which has 392,000 members.

God Bless AmericaSince I begun to post in this blogg I remember post this question to every single democratic candidate, not only right here in this PB blogg, I post this question in his / her own web site or blogg, in another’s web sites or blogg, I send an email to every democratic candidate and.......

NO ONE RESPOND THIS INCONVENIENT QUESTION.....!
Why?

Let's write the question!

"In the event you become the party nominee and after this you become the President of the United State of America, are you ready to use your executive privilege to exonerate George W Bush if he get any condemn from any federal court or the International Court for the facts about Iraq or other transgression of the Constitution of the United State of America or the International Law."

No “Barack Obama” answers this question
No “Hillary Clinton” answers this question
No “John Edwards” answers this question
No “Bill Richardson” answers this question
No “Joe Biden” answers this question
No “Christopher Dodd” answers this question
No “Mike Gravel” answers this question
No “Dennis Kucinich” answers this question

I just am wondering if any of these candidates are going to exonerate George W Bush.

What did you think about it Democrats?

Republican Candidates: 5

Especial comment:

It seem to me the effort from the team who support the Democratic Candidate John Edward are doing the right think. They are focusing the candidate campaign using and minimizing his resource in term of money and are building a very stronger presence on internet, they are now capable to go to the base of this country and are capable to communicate and integrate the base of the population to his interesting campaign.

Edward campaign possible slogan: “Less money, better presence using Internet”

RSSBus is about accessing and customizing your data, your way, easily. You can use any of the hundreds of connectors that we have to connect to various systems or create your own to access systems that are proprietary to you. You can use the RSSBus Admin Console to easily configure and publish RSS with data extensions or use RSBScript for even more control. You can automatically serve your feed in any of the supported formats (ATOM, RSS, HTML, JSON, XLS) by simply changing an input parameter or format the feed your way using a custom feed formatter.

Custom feed formatters change how an entire feed is formatted upon execution of a script. As items are pushed from a script, they are passed to the chosen feed formatter, and the results are sent to the client.

Probably there are something missing in all of this, but I like some time conduct my own research and proof myself what is going on.

I did this before, and in this time I compare The Democratic Party and The Republican Party. (Unfortunately at this time Democratic Party show down than Republican Party on his presence on Internet. Then As today thanks to the very strong pushing coming from his candidates the Democratic Party go FAR AWAY respect the Republican Party - of course this is very good - Now in my research Democratic party (8 points) Republican Party (5points))   Read More »

It is our responsibility to make PartyBuilder live up to the potential that Al Gore sees in the Internet as a whole. Ask ourselves, with each blog post, with each interaction, with each group, are we acting to "revitalize the role played by the people in our constitutional framework [by using PartyBuilder for] connecting individuals to one another and to a universe of knowledge [through] the decentralized creation and distribution of ideas."

This is an off topic plug. Please write to and/or call your representative in Washington and ask him/her to co-sponsor H.R. 2060. While the target date for astronomical royalty payments has been pushed back to June 15th, the danger of thousands of internet radio stations going off the air is still very real. For thousands, including me, net radio is our way to get unique, eclectic music or talk that is hard to find without resorting to satellite radio and it's fees.
