The Norman Rockwell image of the Policeman sitting at the dinner counter with the little runaway boy is no longer a true representation of law enforcement today. I no longer view most of our countries police force as being a part of a greater good for our society. I am appalled at the total disrespect that many police officers display towards our citizens, especially our youth. The motto, "To protect and serve" has been lost to a more sinister one of "To harass and arrest". Our media with the help of such web sites like Youtube has been exposing gross abuse and out and out criminal behavior by our police. I myself have witnessed Lewiston officers right here in the valley using very loud and profane language towards non threatening citizens. Police for the most part do not operate within the confines of the US constitution and use a dysfunctional if not criminal notion that the ends justifies the means. Just look at some of our so called finest, some fall right in to the negative stereo typical view, overweight donut eating buffoons. What has happened to the qualifications of being physically fit. There are some officers right here in the valley that are so morbidly obese as to preclude them from any type of physical rescue, thus endangering the public. For the most part the police answer to no one as they continue to police themselves as if the public was unaware of the code of silence that the police operate under. This is not to say that there is not good and honest police officers out there because there are, and it's up to them to step up and break the code of silence and rid our society of this non professional and criminal element. The public also needs to become more vigilant and report police abuse and demand from our city, county, state and federal leaders to have higher standards for our police. Physically fit, ethical, well trained, and well paid police is what the public expects.

Well, perhaps we have an attention grabber, here, today.
(Anyway, it sure got my attention!)
When I listen to some of my Republican friends speak about
the SOLUTION TO THE HISPANIC PROBLEM, it makes me recall
the Natzis and their SOLUTION TO THE JEWISH PROBLEM.
(Spookie! Real Spookie!!!)
And, as a Democrat, I think I stand where most Democrats do, that we should welcome the Hispanics. After all, ALL of our ancestors came to this Country from somewhere else.
However, there are "frictions" and problems. And, this week, USAToday did an Article on a potential "solution"
and one, which seems to me, fairly reasonable. (But, then,
I am not Hispanic.)
Rather than trying to DEPORT all the illegal immiagrants,
some Law Enforcement Groups have been targeting those Hispanics caught up in America's Crime Wave. And, being
new to the Country, it seems that they are easy prey for
Gangs, Cults, and Organized Crime. But, as police catch
up with them, in these involvements, then they are being
deported--and not allowed to return.
That seems a little more humane. Getting rid of the rotters in the barrel, rather than just trying to wipe out all the "brown people"!
Now, what do you think? (Perhaps I am all wet???)

THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA POLICE WERE AS PATIENT WITH HIM AS THEY WERE IS ACTUALLY QUITE STUNNING.
THAT JOHN KERRY WAS SO VERY PATIENT WITH THIS MAN WAS ALSO QUITE REFRESHING. IN FACT KERRY WAS QUITE WILLING TO CONTINUE ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS EVEN AFTER THE POLICE STARTED TO REMOVE THE HECKLER FROM THE ROOM AND HAS PUBLICLY EXPRESSED HIS OWN DISMAY OVER THE TASERING.
YET BLOGGERS YESTERDAY AND TODAY HAVE BEEN CYNICALLY ATTEMPTING TO MAKE THIS INTO A "SKULL AND BONES" CONSPIRACY

I saw this video the other day on Bureaucrash, featuring an Officer of the Law abusing his power and threatening to "make up a reason" to throw an innocent man in jail.

However, I just found out more of the story from this article; apparently the man's posting to YouTube and similar sites actually yielded results. Pending an investigation, the officer has been suspended without pay and their police department is in the shadow of the disgrace caused by their own run-away corruption.

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has apologized for comments he made on Dan Patrick's ESPN radio show about Cincinnati police possibly profiling his players.
"Yesterday, I gave a radio interview and made some comments that did not illustrate the high regard I have for the Cincinnati Police Department," Lewis said in a statement released by the team, which has been plagued by run-ins with the law. "I apologize that what I said did not reflect my true feelings."
Lewis' apology came a day after an interview on ESPN Radio's The Dan Patrick Show in which he noted that wide receiver Chris Henry was pulled over in March after not signaling a turn while driving in Cincinnati. Asked if he thought such a traffic stop indicated there was profiling at work, Lewis said: "I think there's profiling, no question. We're [Cincinnati] a small place, our guys stand out, and they know that and you've got to do things the right way, but when you are arrested for, or you are pulled over for not putting on your turn signal, there's something wrong there. Many people make right turns without putting on their turn signals and that's unfortunate that we've had a guy that's pulled over for not putting on his turn signal."
If I was Marvin, I would not have apologized.
