You all remember when REPUBLICAN Michael Steel tried to trick voters in Maryland into thinking he was a Democrat with his STEELE DEMOCRAT bumper stickers and signs?

We have another one. These "Piggy Back Buthas" crack me up. They should just come back to the DNC instead of fake it.

Obama Campaign Distances Itself From Georgia Democrat's Mailer

General Wesley Clark is McCain and the GOP’s worst nightmare:  a military man with more experience and rank than McCain and a military man who himself came home as a hero on a stretcher from Vietnam.  And more: a person of honor himself, General Clark is an articulate spokesman for the truth who cannot be backed down from the traditional GOP tactics of characterizing a perfectly honest and correct assessment of their candidate’s qualifications as an attack on the character of their candidate and thus counter-attacking by smearing the character of the messenger.

General Wesley has never attacked the character of John McCain.  He only dared to question the claim that being shot down over Vietnam qualifies any one for the office of the presidency.  Last night on MSNBC’s Dan Abrams show, General Wesley Clark was a 30 minute free advertisement for Obama.  It was great.  As much as Abrams tried the traditional Republican tactics of twisting the words of another to suit their purposes, he could not twist the truth of what General Wesley Clark was saying.

I just ran the BarackObam.com ad on a local website. Can you do the same in your area to help make it easy for all voters to get to know Barack. ? Please pass on this challenge to others. Thanks Wayne

http://goffstownedge.typepad.com/
Hello All,

I challenge all to do as I have done to provide voters with easy access to BarackObama.com I have run the simple ad BarackObama.com in my hometown paper as well as other surrounding communities to get this started. This simple ad will make it easy for people to get to know Barack. It will reach many people and make it easy for those who otherwise may not visit his website.

Just imagine if every small town paper in every state had this ad BarackObama.com how many people we could reach. Howe many new supporters will join and how many new supporters will donate.

The papers I ran ads from July 3 to Oct 30 are the Goffstown News, Bedford Bulletin,Bow Times, Hooksett Banner and Salem Observer. All these communities voted republican in 2004, "Its Time for a Change" and we the people can be part of this change. We can do this if we all join in. Lets start this in NH and spread the word across the country so all will have easy access to get to know Barack Obama and help elect him as our next president.

Those who want to help, please start to blog on this or run a simple ad BarackObama.com to move this idea forward.

Another idea is to purchase magnetic car signs from your local printer or from an online store in the size of a bumper sticker with BarackObama.com. Pass them out at the supermarket or post office. Put a bunch on your car with a sign free take one. When you do groceries and come back to your car some will have been taken by new supporters. People love these things. That way it will be like having moving billboards throughout your area.

Please email this blog to others. Thank You, Wayne

While a number of speakers -- such as Railroad Commission chairman Michael Williams and Mike Huckabee -- have praised the advance of Barack Obama and what it means towards a colorblind society, at least one vendor hasn't gotten the message.

At the Republican state convention, a booth hosted by Republicanmarket was selling a pin Saturday that says: If Obama is President will we still call it the White House.

There were other pins that weren't necessarily conveying the positive, inclusive, united front that has been portrayed during the convention. One said, "Press 1 for English. Press 2 for Deportation" and another, "I will hold my nose when I vote for McCain"

A perfect example of Republican claptrap as it happens in Texas.

"Sour grapes are funny things. After the amazing victory by Juan Garcia  over Republican Gene Seaman in the Coastal Bend in 2006, local republican officials just cannot come to grips with reality. Repeatedly, the Nueces County GOP apparatus continues to swing wildly into the air, hitting nothing and looking like fools.

First, since his win, four frivolous ethics complaints againt Rep. Garcia  filed by local GOP officials have been dismissed by the Ethics Commission. "

This appeared in the Burnt Orange Report:

Yesterday, Mynor Rodriguez wrote this post talking about House District 32. Today, Juan Garcia sent out this e-mail explaining the situation further.

This week the Nueces County Republican Party sent out a mailer to thousands of area residents, demanding that State Representative Juan Garcia return campaign contributions from businessman Mauricio Celis. The problem? Rep. Garcia donated all of Celis' contribution to a veterans' rehabilitation center months ago.

A check copy shows that Garcia sent $17,000 to the Intrepid Center on January 24, 2008. The center is a privately-funded, state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in San Antonio treating injured and disfigured American service personnel returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

A letter from Mr. Richard T. Santulli, Chairman of The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, thanked Rep. Garcia for "your kindness and generosity. We are grateful for your thoughtfulness and for your remembering our service members and their families." Rep. Garcia is listed on the Intrepid Center's website, www.fallenheroesfund.org, as a major contributor in the "Friends" category.

I have created 2 events in the Group "Its an Election Stupid, not a Selection!" Please sign up to attend. On August 25th, the Democratic Party will begin its convention in Denver, CO. On September 1st, The Republicans begin their convention in Minneapolis, St Paul, MN. The DNC is just starting to realize the financial effects of betraying its members. Donations have plummeted. The convention is 15 million behind in donations. If the DNC continues this farce through to Denver, I propose that we ban together and boycott the convention. "Silence Corruption, Blackout in Denver!" I also suggest we boycott the Republican convention. Why? On the Republican convention website, Maria Cino, President and CEO of the 2008 Republican National Convention states "To serve a cause greater than one's own self-interest is to truly serve the better angels of our nature, and it is this lesson that we have taken to heart as we continue to prepare for the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul ...". John McCain states "I believe in the greatness of this nation as a beacon of goodwill throughout the world. My friends, each and every one of us has a duty to serve a cause greater than our own self-interest." Where are the voices of Republicans demanding accountability from the DNC. To fight for the rights of your opponent, would be the furthest thing from their own self interest. Is it not the American way to stand up with your brothers and fight injustice. How many whites, latinos, women died fighting for the rights of African Americans? Therefore, I say, "Silence Injustice, Blackout in Minneapolis St Paul!" I am sure that the DNC and the RNC are expecting a huge amount of dollars from advertisers, but millions refusing to watch, millions promising to boycott the advertisers of these events, greatly reduces the value of the advertising. You can continue supporting whomever you wish. You can vote in November for whomever your concious allows. This is a statement directed at both the Democrats and Republicans. The American people are fed up with our election process. It became clear 8 years ago that reform was needed. Yet, in 2004, corruption again entered our presidential elections. Then four years later, were left with the DNC convienetly deciding which rules to follow and which ones not to follow. We still have the Republican primary where winner takes all, clearly not one person, one vote. The majority of Americans had no say in who their nominee would be. The only way to get the attention of these 2 parties, is to hit it where it hurts. The wallet. You see, if both parties are financially wiped out, what better chance for a 3rd, 4th, 5th party to rise up and demand, "MY VOICE WILL NO LONGER BE SILENCED! Silence Corruption, Blackout in Denver! Silence Injustice, Blackout in Minneapolis St Paul!"
I'm a Floridian and I had 'nothing' to do with 'when' the primary was held here. I don't think it's fair that the DNC chose to punish 'the people' for this. You can't tell me that the Super Delegates felt that Obama was a better candidate than Hillary and make me honestly believe it. YES I am BITTER! I'm bitter because the DNC has given me 'no' choice other than to vote for McCain. It comes down to this...TRUST. Who (given the two choices we have right now) do you trust more? Obama or McCain. That one my democratic friends is sad, because I feel McCain is! I will not vote Democratic in Nov.

They've been hunted down, rounded up, held in detention, kept in isolation, denied bail, restricted in their right to counsel, tried on secret evidence and trumped-up charges, then incarcerated as political prisoners or deported to where they face possible arrest and torture. Because of his faith and ethnicity, Aref was victimized by US "justice" in a post-9/11 climate of fear. The request stems from a news report that military officials and law enforcement members of the Los Angeles County Terrorist Early Warning Group illegally took the top-secret documents from the base's Strategic Technical Operations Center. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Marine Gunnery Sgt. Gary Maziarz has been court-martialed and convicted for his role in the thefts. While the details of the surveillance and the alleged theft remain largely unknown, the incident provides confirmation that the military and law enforcement groups have been gathering information about local Muslim communities, said Michael German, policy counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union's Washington Legislative Office.   Read More »

He really is a huge liar. The more I read about him, the more amazed I am at his outrageous and boldfaced ability to just flat-out lie. Not only about Iraq, but Katrina. To listen to him, voters would get the impression that if he were president thathe would have done all he could to support Katrina.  This outrageous.  McCain voted AGAINST legislation that would have assisted these people.

On the DNC's McCain myth buster, we have this:

"The fact is, McCain has a history of denying the Gulf Coast aid when it needs it most and a record of outrageous votes to show for it. Instead of helping the area rebuild after Hurricane Katrina and the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast get back on their feet, McCain actually voted to deny emergency funding to the area, and he voted against giving victims of Katrina access to Medicaid and unemployment benefits. [McCain Campaign Email, 4/22/08; 2006 Senate Vote #112, 5/4/2006; 2005 Senate Vote #285, 11/3/2005; 2006 Senate Vote #6, 2/2/2006; 2005 Senate Vote #229, 9/14/2005; 2005 Senate Vote #234, 9/15/2005]"

Arm yourselves with facts about McCain and talk to others.

Dammit! Most Democrats are still seething about 2000, when Al Gore won the popular vote but lost to George W. Bush after a Supreme Court ruling...the recount that resulted in another recount! They're still irked, too, about 2004, when many think that their nominee John Kerry should have won at a time when the nation was split over whether Bush was managing the Iraq war wisely. I keep thinking about the horrendous lines of voters (seen from above by helicopter cameras at 11:30 p.m. that November night!) in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton, Akron, Columbus, and Toledo...so few voting machines for and underestimated turnout! Ohioans still claim it was fixed by the Republicans! By the numbers, everything points to a big Democratic rebound in 2008. President Bush's approval rate, as well as the numbers of Americans who think the country is on the right track, has hit historic lows. The War in Iraq is a Republican mess! People everywhere are ready for Change! Ah, that word "Change" brings a warm rush of hope. The nation is reeling from a sluggish economy and mired in a deeply unpopular war, two factors that usually have turned voters away from the incumbent White House party. In addition, the presumptive Republican nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain, who'll turn 72 in August, is the oldest major party candidate ever to seek a first White House term. I did say OLD! That plus the fact that he's got enough baggage to keep the Democrats busy trying to figure out just which item to reserve for their "Swiftboat" attack! Still, Democrats enter the general election less than confident that their party can heal the wounds of the long and divisive primary battle between Sens. Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Clinton of New York in time to defeat McCain. Part of the concern stems from what's been evident in primaries throughout the winter and spring. Obama routinely won big majorities of votes from black people, younger people and higher income voters. Clinton got white conservatives and the majority of women, however, and exit polls in state after state found that big chunks of her backers are inclined to support McCain in November. Obama, they said, is too liberal and too inexperienced. What the party must do, and they haven't yet, is recognize quickly and demonstrate that it understands the needs of the Clinton constituency. I can't see that as an easy task until we know what Clinton's intentions are...we have to wait till this Saturday. We must realize NOW that we'll have a tough time selling the party if that group feels underappreciated/under-represented. Sure, if Clinton embraces Obama and stumps vigorously for him and the party this summer and fall, many of her supporters will rally. I was reminded earlier today that they're not just puppets on a string. Some Democrats are demoralized by past defeats. Others, however, think memories of 2000 and 2004 will motivate the party faithful in an extraordinary way and allow the wounds from the Obama-Clinton duel to heal quickly. I certainly hope so! www.uniteddems.com
