So McCain keeps bringing up Republic of Ireland as an example for low corporate taxes and the reason why U.S. corporations are moving there. Fantastic! So, Sen. McCain, I am sure, is for SOCIALIZED MEDICINE as well then. I mean, Republic of Ireland has a SOCIALIZED MEDICAL CARE system!!! This is great. Cmon McCain live up to your words and agree to this then and we will stand with him for lowering corporate taxes. My bet is that he will cower away. McCain is a coward and should be treated as one.
Palin is a tyrant who is looking to gain power so that she can bring her fascist views to the White House. Does anybody really think, after we have seen all that she can be, that she should even be the governor of Alaska? I don't think so. I think there should be some kind of a drive for a voter recall on her just like the republicans did in California. This woman is a menace waiting to happen. She will be Hitler revisited. God bless our country!
We as citizens are always held accountable for our actions by our government. There are laws that we must obey and follow or be held accountable for our actions, i.e. pay fines and or jail. Just as we have laws that govern us, we have the Constitution & The Bill of Rights that the government must obey if we are truly a country that believes in Liberty and the rule of law.

So when the leader of our government, President George W. Bush exercises absolute power to go to war (which only Congress can declare) and to lie for the reasons to go to war. To suspend habeas corpus and to engage in warrant less searches. When our government jails journalists for not naming names or uses torture to interrogate prisoners. When our President can disobey more then 750 laws since he took office, claiming that he has the power to set aside any statute passed by Congress. Most all of this accomplished by using fear mongering as a tactic to implement his power grab. Remember Ben Franklin, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Does any of this ring any bells America?

I can only think of one word to define our President, Tyrant; One who exercises absolute power without legal warrant, whether ruling well or badly.

So until President George W. Bush is held accountable for his blatant tyrannical rule and all the wrongs are righted, don't tell me that we live in a Free Country, it's a lie.

The rise of American fascism  requires understanding the conditions leading up to its transformation into a fascist state.  When Lincoln was shot Booth cried out: "Sic Semper Tyannis" - "Thus always it shall aways be to tyrants" the same quote attributed to the Senator Brutus when he stabbed Caesar.  Because of the Civil War; Lincoln had assumed the powers of a tyrant; rode roughshod over civil liberties, such as the right to habeas corpus; but the real beginnings of American Fascism began after WWII with the rising paranoia in the Atomic Age and the growing cult of national Security. .

Ever since George W. Bush stole the 2000 election the words âtyrantâ and âdictatorâ have been used to describe him (I image that these terms have been used to describe all our Presidents, by someone or another). As his âreignâ has progressed these terms of endearment seem increasingly applicable, but just exactly how amazingly accurate these terms are in describing George Bush is best seen when we examine the roots of these words. Analyzing the roots is more than just a fruitless mental game, but rather they provide us with an insight into ourselves and the precarious state in which our democracy exists. In the words of Karl Marx, "History repeats itself, first as a tragedy, second as a farce."   Read More »
